Darkest Dungeon

The really confusing part is that they're presumably a reference to the Roman goddess Vesta, and Vesta's priestesses were traditionally virgins. Maybe they just like hanging out at the brothel?

Are you finding Vestals particularly useful? I just use Occultist or Arbalests for healing, pretty much dropped Vestals since they refuse to hang out with Abominations.

I like using Crusaders and Lepers, so the extra Stress reduction for religious characters is invaluable in camp. I definetly prefer Occultist for in-fight healing now, though.

Vestal's biggest uses are her stun and camp abilities. If you fully trinket her for healing, she can be as effective as an occultist, but it requires a lot of the high end vestal trinkets. She tends to play best with the other holies, and characters with lots of bleed/blight effects to take advantage of her stuns.

Fuck the Darkest Dungeon.

And yes, that is the original Dumas.

Sorry dude, wiping a level six team suuuuucks, especially one with a legacy character. You're probably not completely boned, but still... best of luck.

I haven't played for around as long as this thread has been dead, how did town events turn out?

We also have an expansion coming somewhat soon, I would hope, they put up a page on Steam for it.

I completely forgot I posted in this <,>

.... I really should finish my mod but now I have to update first then retool the mod T~T

Expansion is June 19th.
  • A parallel campaign taking place during the main quest which sheds light on The Ancestor's early days, including new cutscenes.
  • A new hero class. “Awash in blood and delusion, they bear the burden of a thousand lifetimes.”
  • A new location known as "The Courtyard," which will include new curios, traps, obstacles, and a complete faction of blood-crazed foes.
  • Massive, sprawling maps with locked doors, prisoner rooms, and progress saves.
  • New enemies found in the other regions.
  • Heroes can be afflicted with something known as the "crimson curse," which causes unknown effects.
  • 4 new, unique Courtyard Bosses with some of the most complex and devious mechanics yet.
  • A new wandering boss known as The Fanatic, a vampire hunter-esque madman who will hunt down any of your heroes bearing the curse.
  • Districts: New prestige buildings that offer permanent, estate-wide bonuses
  • Lore-driven trinket sets for all heroes – with set bonuses!

Sounds sweet. I kinda stop playing every time I reach Level 3 missions, 'cause I'd have to rethink my team composition (wait, what was my old standard team? ...Oh yeah! Tank/Bounty Hunter/Grave Robber/Occultist. Doesn't work so hot against things with Prot and Blight Resist) and grind up to it (that's the big thing) and I'd rather play Skullgirls and whatever the new hotness is (currently Crypt of the Necrodancer, in which I keep dying as Aria. Well, new old hotness, I guess).

and grind up to it (that's the big thing)
You know there is a grind light mode right? Doesn't actually make the game easier but the grinding stuff goes by much faster. That's what I've heard at least, and reading the patches themselves that seems to be the case.

New class revealed.

Excellent timing. I've been really trying to finish this game and bashing my head against the Templars. I don't even know if talking the fourth Talisman would make it easier - stress really builds over that mission.
