Did a low-effort dev stream yesterday where I mostly just tested a new camera, lower hit stop, some gameplay changes for each char, and just messed around.


I'll probably start doing something like this on a weekly basis and also commentate while I do it.

If Dog is more about links in this build, is it so he has to start combos with mediums or heavies? I hope it's not meaningfully harder to execute.

Nah basically how he's setup right now is Strongs / Fierces can link into Jabs, and Jabs can link into Strongs / Fierces / Forwards. It might be a little harder to execute than before, but before he was super derpy with his chains. It also put some restrictions on his Fierce moves' frame data in that I had to make them pretty slow in order to not be true block strings all the time. If I decide to bring back the Strong -> Fierce chain combos, it'd probably be with unique moves rather than using the normal Fierces.
 
those mixups look amazing. I can't wait to try the game it continues to look like so much fun.

I meant starting combos with riskier moves, not M-H links. >_>

Uhh could you still link M-L-H without too much knockback? Is it more about air combo potential or after a jump-in?

Not gonna lie none of the revealed characters click too much with me, but I just love this game's style and have been following it too long to stop now :D

but past the 4 we current know about are there any other characters you guy got planned before the game's full release?

There are four more for the initial 1.0 release (8 total)

This is probably a stupid question, but is there a reason Tyara has more letters and syllables in her name than the other characters shown so far?

nah.

they just went for the simple names. Easy to remember you know?

Ryu, Ken, Dan, Guy, they're all super easy to remember thanks to their names and such

3-letter names was not really meant to be a thing, just a coincidence

Woah, I really like the somewhat silly/feminine flair her movements have while still being a brutal amazon.

And I hope all the weapon summoning/vanishing gets some cool VFX to go with it. (Also in regards to all the hammerspace going on here, "It's void energy Planet KO hypertech, I ain't gotta explain shit!")
 
Likewise that game looks really fun! I love those characters. 'w'

Nice, game's really coming together, thanks for the footage! I'm liking how Dog and Tyara are looking, the only thing I think is a bit off is Tyara's shield charges lack a bit of impact for my tastes. I'm mainly thinking to Cap's shield charge from Marvel vs Capcom, but I think the animation coming out faster and having impact or even slight camera shake upon impact would really sell how powerful her charge is.

Just some thoughts! Keep up the good work guys!
