Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

The game only has english voices
Even in Japan? The video's name was in Japanese, along with it's source link in the desc Also surprised since the MH's usually don't talk <,>

Edit:

I'll admit, she has my curiosity, as I am a fan of Monster Hunter (which is the very last game I am willing to support Crapcom for).

if her taunt isn't her whipping out some meat and cooking it, then it'll be a big shame and a missed opportunity

I know its not just the visuals. I get that. I outlined that. Marketing was shaky on the rocks too.The Pre order stuff looks pretty balls. But the game is out now. The game is good, too, inspite of people wishing and meming it otherwise.

And yet... In spite of this people seem really really eager to try and put this game 6 feet under by week one, yourself included (no offense).

THATS whats fucking me up. When good gameplay doesnt make it a good game, what is a game even? MVCI seems to hit a majority of stuff on my game check list of quality (minus of course, the visuals and music), and yet the visual and roster, purely aesthetic things are whats killing the game. THings that many people in the past over look in various other titles, whether it being shitty music, shitty stories, shitty outside the game stuff or shitty music.
Not just the roster or DLC either, not everyone is as happy with the mechanics as you are either. Killing off assists, killing off 3v3, killing off zoning, killing off what makes Mahvel Mahvel and leaving behind an soulless shell of a game. All of the major system changes come across as an attempt to dumb it down for casual appeal.

As I said, early impressions of SF5 had people singing nothing but praise when it was new and shiny. Early impressions mean nothing, let's see if that actually lasts long-term. And because we learned that the hard way with SF5, you really shouldn't be surprised that people don't want to trust Capcom again. Even if the core mechanics truly are as wonderful as you say, that's really not enough for Capcom to just earn everyone's trust back overnight. And if Capcom ever does want to earn that trust, they do need to show some more effort on things like presentation, PR, netcode, fixing their last game, being less greedy with DLC, etc etc etc. Those things do matter, they aren't just functions!

If you want to lament that a game you're enjoying isn't more popular, that's how I feel about every other game not made by Capcom. Ultimately, the thing that pisses me off the most is that no matter how bad Capcom gets, they will forever get to be the centerpiece of the FGC while far better games that deserve more love are stuck in their shadow.

Classy, Capcom.

They announced who the first DLC character was when they announced the game, and the second one months out.

this is gonna be a bit of a long response, but know that I don't mean any ill-will towards you with any of this.

The thing is, presentation matters. The game is flat out not worth its price tag. I value supporting a game at the competitive and community level as much as anyone, but if the game itself doesn't deserve to succeed...maybe it shouldn't.

The PR was a mess as you all know, the game's visuals are inconsistent where some are good looking like Jedah and Gamora but ppl like Frank and Dante are butt ugly. The game lacks any real features aside from story, missions (which don't matter since they aren't updated to match the patched version of the game so why bother?), arcade, and versus.

The issue here is what you want. When I put down $60-$90, I want a full fledged game. This game doesnt come to meet those expectations for a variety of reasons and I'd drag this post out a ton more if I went into all of it, but to get on track, its not fair to expect ppl to NOT bash the game when it doesnt meet quality expectations.

On your point about Melee, again, different expectations. Melee came out ages and for the time it was out, it looked really good visually. Plus it has a ton of modes, lots of unlockables, and a lot of really rewarding systems outside of the well done gameplay. The game also wouldn't be $60 to pick up today assuming you already had a Gamecube. As time goes on expectations evolve. If you want to be a game designer this should be a good lesson that how much you charge for a game should at least try to match the game's quality. A lot of indies get away with having less because they cost less, and it can be debated that their presentation is even better than MvCi here in some cases due to stylized graphics and menus.

To end this, basically, a fighter can have great gameplay, but that doesn't really matter if the game itself doesn't treat its fanbase with respect or have much to attract the casual audience. If it fails to meet the standards of most people, then it doesn't matter how good the gameplay is. Maybe it'll be revived when the game becomes really cheap, but as it is the game isn't worth its price tag.

I'm going to hold off on getting the game for at least a couple of weeks. The roster, the visuals, etc etc etc just doesn't click with me. I usually jump on most any FG, but this just isn't holding my interest.

I've played about 13 hours of marvel infinite and I have to admit the gameplay is so fucking fun it feels like I constantly have an amazing grasp on it while simultaneously making me feel like I have so much left to learn.

Gamora and Thanos are my favorites so far and my main team but I also am enjoying playing Morrigan and hope to pick up Monster Hunter and Black Widow for certain with Black Widow being my next main I think.

Give this game a shot, the UI aint great but the game itself is mad fun and the netcode is pretty solid.

While I may have my own vendetta against Capcom for it's shit, I will say that this game hasn't really kept my attention like MvC3 did. Everything about this game has turned me off on what I'd like to play in a fighter.

Reached Rank 13 just now, the game is fun as fuck. I tried Nemesis/Dante but wasn't feeling it. Swapped Nemmy for Thanos and it clicked. Game's a blast despite everything aesthetically being lame. I'd say wait for a price drop and pick it up, it's really inspired and unique compared to any other VS game. If the roster was good and the graphics actually had a style to them it might be one of the best Capcom fighters ever.

edit: also yes the netcode is a lot better than SFV

NLBC v.84 just concluded recently, lots of high level matches are starting to pump out. seems like everyone is loving the Reality stone because of all the projectile pressure and combos you can do with it.

EDIT: Really glad that more people are actually trying the game out now in here. This game needs more word of mouth about how it actually plays.

idk, probably just me, but from a more casual perspective I can't get behind the game as much. It's fun for sure, but I never really feel like I have the timing for switches or combos down...its probably just me, but the gameplay isn't really doing anything for me. feels like a game that requires a lot of lab time and I'm just not the kind of person to do that...

I will admit though high level play is pretty sick at times.

I'll be clear.
I don't want this game to fail, I just don't feel like it is worth $60 (or even $50 if I amazon Prime it up in this bitch) at the moment, or $90 if you count the Digital Deluxe.
The Presentation and Roster are just something I cannot seem to get over.

Indeed. Should've be either a 30 bucks game with 3 dollars each dlc char or get a free version with character limitations like Killer Instinct. Same with SFV

Sooner or later capcom will get that and try a better way of drawing people (a demo with online play, for example)

dis gaem fun as fucc

I got to admit; double crazy dance looks freaking goofy. Pray he never gets a soul surge...

One of the ONLY things kept "fair" and "balanced in a Marvel game is that there's no double chars. They held it in marvel 1, marvel 2 and 3. In Infinite they broke it in ONE WEEK!

nooooot quite my guy. They hacked the console versions to have 3 of each character, some people were even online Galactus!

This honestly makes me laugh because of how ridiculous it can be. I'm not really mad at the Dantes.
Not even Skullgirls was immune to this. Though I remember Mike making it so people auto-lose as Marie as a fix.
Seems like they could make a check to see if both characters are the same and then make them auto-lose, though I don't really know anything about game code.

There's a glitch in the game right now with Dante where cr.LK into Stinger makes the Stinger into an overhead for some reason. Abuse while ya can fellas.

My least favorite thing about this game is due to the switch system every single overhead/low is an unblockable setup.

Also, I sure do still love Dante's consistent top tier-ness.

no no

that's a feature

Marvel is the best at doing that sort of thing. making features...

Is it a feature that Dormammu's move list doesn't actually list all his moves? Or that his character missions don't demonstrate what the fuck any of his shit does?

They aren't unblockables they are like SG combos where they are hard to blockables

at least thats what i've been told and seen from people streaming, but if you have any evidence of otherwise lemme know

I mean it might have something to do with his 20-something special moves he really doesn't need making him basically impossible to balance and having a super overloaded kit but naaaaah.

I mean Dormamu can set a tiny fire area on the ground that blocks entire beam supers as long as they hit low over the ground (like Dormamu or Ryu's) soooo...yes, its a feature that balance is lost on this game XD

Hell Arthur can cheese essentially an infinite with Time Storm where you just spam daggers and they constantly hit from full screen endlessly. As far as I've tested this can take ppl from 100% to about 20% on just this without tags, supers, or any sort of maximizing.

yeah they are hard to blockables that said... the time to stagger your quote unquote assists is much shorter. so it's even more unreactable, your only real chance of getting out is if you pop gem storm.

That's ULTIMATE Mvc3 and took months (years?) to happen. Not less than a week

To be fair, it's probably way easier to do when you have a PC version available immidietly.

So I'm now playing Iron Man and Ultron after figuring out that they have really good synergy and really fun combos, lmao.

Been playing a lot more recently. My opinion of tbe gameplay has improved drastically but everything else remains the same. Running Arthur and Thor with Time Stone.

Can we please just remove Dormamu though? You cant reflect his projectiles since they're stationary and he has insane combo potential and since those vines pull you towards him its a free full screen setup. Why did they think he was ok? I've beaten a few but its always so close and never any fun at all. And if I'm using Thor I may as well just put the controller down cause there's no way to get in on him. Anyone know how to counter him universally?

Also I see Gamora a lot and she's annoying but I dont really have much problem with her except i think they need to shorten her block string possibilities so she can't tag for suuuuuper long strings that are hard to guard. She cool though.

A little help with the vines/carpet/conveyor belt of fuckery. I know your pain. Ultron/Dorm is like the new generation top tier nightmare team.
