Blazblue Cross Tag Battle.

So, apparently, Eden Riegel is voicing Es in Cross Tag Battle. At least, that's what it says in her profile in the BlazBlue Wiki.

Well, she did May. It has to be good.

Yeah, she was very unfitting as May. She sounded too old. Her running gag is that she seems like a kid, but is actually an adult.

I would say around... 1/3rd of cast was at least OK in Sign.

But the terrible ones (Ramlethal makes me shudder) outweigh it by quite a lot.

Ramlethal is Bullet, Leo is Tager, Bedman is Amane - just remembering.

But an even bigger thought came to my head... Who's doing English VAs for the UNIB cast? We also never got a dub of that, but I'm okay with that. Still, it deserves to have one. Unlike Chaos Code and Yatagarasu which need development.

Just goes to show that having a good voice director (and sufficient material for them to work off) matters first. An actor like D.C. Douglas might be able to make something good himself, but a lot of them can't.

And being reminded of Bullet's voice, I kinda want Bullet in BBTAG for voice actor jokes. If Aksys gets any leeway on adding special intro dialogue, that is.

I feel like Big Band's moves would fit the style.

I just want like half the Skullgirls cast in the game. Filia's a must. Cerebella is also an easy choice. Peacock is a posterchild, but they'd have to figure out her playstyle. Big Band is practically perfect. Eliza would also fit well and I'd love to see her kill everyone interactions. Parasoul is my total bias choice, especially if Mitsuru gets announced. And Robo-Fortune could work.

Akso apparently there's no walk forward, only run. This game is really selling me on everything but the gameplay, which is also how DBFZ went. But it seems more kusoge fun than DBFZ.
So a Big Band that can jump in and choose to do Brass, Beat Extend, or A-Train...

Do you REALLY want this?!

This game has the dumbest of movesets, so bring it on.

Cerebella or Eliza probably fit the best. Lock N Load/Cerecopter/Excellebella or Sekhmet/Spiral/Horus.

Heard English VAs for Hyde and Linne... let me guess - Ben Diskin is Hyde?!

Okay, edit as I found on the Wiki - Hyde is Kyle McCarley, and Linne is Sarah Anne Williams. If anyone can tell me any particular roles they played, tell me!

Sarah is Peacock in Skullgirls.

Honestly, having seen almost all these actors having great performances in other productions, its pretty easy to catch when its all on the voice director just not getting it right.

What? Am I the only one in this forum who LIKED the Xrd dub?
I think it was a mixed bag. Some are good, some not so much.

What we got from most of the cast was fine, except Sol was not that good, which is a problem since he is the main character.

Oddly enough, his performance during the Fred flashbacks was fine, so I'm thinking the direction was the main issue as well.

A lot of it was both direction and bad casting.
I refuse to believe May’s was good because her entire running gag is hat she seems like a child, but is actually an adult. Having her talk with a more adult sounding voice is going against her running gag.

It's almost like... she's getting older lmfao

Does chip damage K.O. in this game? I'm hoping it does...
No it doesn't.

Possibly supers? Can't confirm that but I think it's a safe assumption.

I know for a fact that specials dont chip ko though.

I'm watching the Sakura Fight Festa casuals VOD and Ruby's flash step looks really cool. I have to wonder if on the ground it has to be diagonal forward-up, in the air it looks like straight forward and straight back. She has special victory dialogue if she and Gordeau get a team victory pose. Also a special intro with Hyde, which has special animation and is really cute. :P

I hope there's someone who's actually labbed some Weiss later in this stream so I can see all those options she gets with held sigils. Her combat dialogue sounds really weird though. Partly because she shouldn't have combat dialogue 90% of the time, mostly because it really doesn't feel like how Weiss talks or even what she thinks. Lacking any of her dust attacks besides ice kinda adds to this. Ruby being kind of a showoff is not as much of an exaggeration as Weiss' stuff, I feel.

Not the biggest fan of the This Will Be The Day and instrumental Red Like Roses mashup. 'S okay but I'd rather just have the full songs, though the problem is Red Like Roses changes pace to match the choreography of the fight it was tied to. There's also a remix of Mirror, Mirror, which is really weird. :/ I hope I May Fall will make it into the game's soundtrack, I did a testrun of playing Skullgirls with it and it's pretty kickass and the lyrics work with UNI and Persona.

Yeah, no one respects David Forseth these days.

Gordeau is Ian Sinclair, if anyone is wondering. He's known for playing the titular roles in Toriko and Space Dandy.

Oh yeah, who better to play an edgy guy like that than this guy:

But seriously, respect for range on that guy.

Not like it matters now cuz there's no dub

Budget cuts ruin everything, and when they are about to put up a dub for it, another big game idea comes up and they put the dub for that game in development hell or permanent hiatus. This is why ArcSys one day would look down on themselves and consider "Hey, we could've made a Rev 2 and Central Fiction dub!"

I think actually they chose the right way to use their budget and won't ever regret it.

Content that actually effects gameplay > Content that doesn't

Nothing personnel, kid. Coldsteel is here!

after the first Xrd dub, I'm glad we didn't get any dubs for revelator.

especially when the dub pronounces characters names wrong

Yang gameplay preview.

If Team Red regrets anything about dubs, it's that they tried to do one on their budget.

Yang looks like a good point character, but a bit simplistic. Maybe the install fire will let her do crazy combos, but it doesn't give off the level of oomph I see from Parasoul and Vatista (UNI) combos.
