Blazblue Cross Tag Battle.

Excited that Naoto's in. She was basically my gateway into the entire Persona series cuz I thought her design and theme in P4A were godly.

If Naoto KUROGANE is accepted in there, would they put like the last name letter? Like, Naoto S. (P4) and Naoto K. (BB)?

I think actually they chose the right way to use their budget and won't ever regret it.

Content that actually effects gameplay > Content that doesn't

Considering how MvCI creators regreted cutting budget on non-gameplay stuff I find it quite likely that BlazBlue Crosstag Battle devs might also regret that decision.

we really can't go five minutes without bringing this argument back up can we?

Probably shouldn't but inspired by the above two posts I'm just gonna vent on the issue since I've been silent for months:

I'm going to admit, a large part of why I am critical of MvCi but not Cross Tag is because I am more or less convinced that Capcom has not made a fighter with convincingly good gameplay in nearly a decade. All the horrible PR and ungodly aesthetics are just icing on the snark cake for me.

Arcsys on the other hand - while I don't agree with all design decisions in some of their recent games - still put out games that I overall consider pretty solid and smart. So I'm a lot more forgiving - though still critical - of certain practices that raise an eyebrow.

That and nobodies ever gotten a rootkit from an Arcsys game, as far as I know.

Not to mention that say what you want about aesthetic recycling, but much like Mvc2 these hand drawn character sprites are a thousand times more charismatic than anything in MvCi or SF5, even if they're shoehorned in at clashing resolutions. Hand drawn sprites alway win baby.

Just say you're biased cuz you like one of the devs more instead of acting like what you're saying is something new or inherently well thought out or unique.

People don't like capcom, we get it.

Still shitty that mentality is ruining their games before they even have a single chance to shine.

Both have flaws
Both have redeeming qualities
Don't play a game you don't want to, but also god just get over it and stop talking about it again and again.

Not until some people stop saying flaws already done in one game would somehow be good in the other.

It's like asking us for a reminder.

Who's the current CEO of Capcom? If so, impeach him so the new CEO can make Darkstalkers 4, Rival Schools 3, Star Gladiator 3, Power Stone 3, and possibly a Dino Crisis sequel, all before they can start working on Street Fighter 6. Street Fighter sucks, got it?!

yeah this isn't a biased mentality at all.

also, Capcom has been making games other than fighters. they can't just cater to one.
fuck you if you're trying to take away my Monster Hunter.

I don't actually like ArcSys much more than Capcom. But I really don't want to give money to MvCI because it did everything besides gameplay wrong. Not just visuals. Voices, music and all sorts of QoL features, how it's doing DLC and now radio silence. If the character models were created totally new, that just seems like a bad business decision with how it doesn't really look better than MvC3 at all.

ArcSys's business model kinda sucks, but Capcom's everything sucks. As long as ArcSys is making good games, I'm willing to accept paying a little extra for them. Whereas I wouldn't pay any amount of money for Capcom's trash.

also, Capcom has been making games other than fighters.

But like I said before, the only fighting game Capcom cares about is their iconic Street Fighter! And when a character from another Capcom fighting game is mentioned, it's usually a costume for a Street Fighter character, or a character in a Capcom vs. game! It's not fair.

well, lets not forget how Darkstalkers Resurrection wasn't purchased a lot.
I mean, Capcom is willing to let it's other fighters have a chance yet the fans don't seem that interested

That's because it was a collection anniversary game. I'm talking about a NEW Darkstalkers game with NEW characters.

well, they're not gonna make a new Darkstalkers game if there's no audience to buy it.
you can say it's not fair and that you would buy it, and that others would buy it, but lemme ask the big question:
would it be enough?

Only if Capcom depletes any other fighter other than Street Fighter to the traditional 24.99, sure.

Okay, now I'm over the fact that we'll never get a dub for Revelator nor Central Fiction. I'm looking forward to this - since I enjoyed the dub for Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Oh good there is a Steam release.

So now I debate whether I should get it on Switch.

get it on switch so I'm not lonely

I'm getting it on all available systems.

Why would any poor soul get a fighting game on Switch

All the series having their own Instant Kill theme is a nice touch, love how RWBY characters get the very first opening as theirs.
I just find it kinda weird that their movesets appear to be mostly based on Season 1, 2 and... the initial trailers.
I don't blame 'em for taking from the Monty era, though, choreography there was. Mmm. Wonderful

BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle - Team RWBY Trailer!

Ninja taxi!

Switch beta is out. Too bad my adapter hasn't shipped yet though, joycons are killing me.

I'm wrestling with Switch gamepad controls, plus online lobby keeps breaking on me, I'll just play Splatoon and wait for the free PS4 beta days.

Probably gonna have to not play Hyde if I want to keep learning how to play him in UNIST. Might just play Yu/Yukiko until Blake comes out. Or Linne.

All the crazy assist and team-based stuff is great! But the inability to whiff-cancel auto-combos in this game means a lot of moves don't exist in the neutral.

I stick my fighting game basis on PC and Steam. I haven't touched my Switch in MONTHS!

I've been playing the hell out of Enter the Gungeon myself. I've even beaten it with 3 of the 6 chars (which I never legitly did on Pc XD)

Would I get BBxTB for it? Na.

I ended up playing another hour or two vs CPU.

Man why does Es feel fun, she's a dumb fanfic character. Maybe I'll play her with her voice set to Japanese, it is pretty funny when she just peaces out in her win animation. Her 5B isn't a normal poke but her aerials are godlike.

Despite my concerns about neutral, I like it more than DBFZ because at least pushblock is a decent enough blockstun option for a magic-series game (hopefully it's not both negated by the aggressor tapping with another attack and without PBGC). I think neutral can still be good enough. Combo system is another concern of mine since auto-combos make things relatively linear, but it'll take lab time for people to shake out the potential of the Cross Combo mechanic as well as everything else.

I'm glad combos are so mashy, because it's the only way I can make stuff happen on joycons. I've pretty much adapted to playing around the fact that I can't consistently quarter-circle, just gonna stick to milking Yukiko fans, Inferno Divider, and assists for all I can. Try to confirm into super and DHC if I land a hit, but if doesn't come out no worries, I'll spend the meter next time.

Still got a pretty nice winrate this way, up to dark green and I've been taking games off yellows.

I'm watching some footage of this and it looks fun enough.

Also waiting for ruby and weiss to make it to salty bet now.

:PUN:

Maximillian is having a lot of fun with this game, and has actually announced a Week Of for it. I think thats the biggest possible FGC tuber we could ask for.

Even more impressive since he didn't like playing any BlazBlue games.
