It won't. Don't worry.
Gen 8 will still be general Pokemon formula.

This game was made to capitalize on the buncha babies we got from Pokemon Go.

Oh god, a Mythical that evolves would be awful. Have fun collecting a living dex, or even just having those Pokedex entries to carry forward into subsequent games.

I agree, Aipom looks terrible; every other one so far in that trailer looked alright to me though
 
Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield for the 8th Gen. Looks like Pokémon Norway.
 
I don't like the starters. I swear there's something wrong with how their bodies look so soft.

People have said it's the UK.

Partially because the continent is just the UK but turned slightly.
 
Gen 8's looking promising with the region, but the starters are defiantly the worst looking of all starters thus far.

I like Sobble, though he does just look like a minimalist version of every water starter.
Grookie looks like the worst version of a Chispin and Turtwig mash together, that being said I'm exited to see it's evos.
And while I do like Scorbunny's design he still looks like someone throw a Chispin in some flower and slapped bunny ears on him.
 
In case you're upset there's still no major gameplay shake-ups. One we haven't seen what that Soccer gimmick will be, and two, Yokai Watch 4 has thrown out everything in favor of a Ni No Kuni gameplay system.

Well we did get Detective Pikachu 2 on NS
but other than that, the REAL info is for the Sword/Shield direct
 

Also heads up: this direct confirmed a large text leak posted back in May. It had all of the new Pokemon and characters - names included - as well as everything else in the Direct. I expect the rest of the leak to be everywhere for the next several months.
 
The legendaries look... meh. They're basically the same Pokemon but with different names.
 
Ive spent all of yesterday fucking pumped for this.

Also im team shield because i prefer being a paldin of sorts. Also zanzameta is a total monster hunter name
 
Geez, people have missed a lot of stuff.

First, this came out yesterday the 12th in Japan(the movie I mean, themusic video came out last week):


Second, A Large Sword/Shied Drop from Monday:
Oh yeah, those Two Gym Leaders shown? They are Version Exclusive. Bea is only in Sword, and Alister is only in Shield

Finally this dropped yesterday in Japan, revealing more returning Pokémon:

We have also started to get Game Exclusive Pokémon:
Sword only: Deino Line, Jangmo-O Line

Shield Only: Larvitar Line, Goomy Line
 
Regional exclusives are back with a fancy Weezing and a Linoone evolution, the entire Zigzagoon line looking like KISS cosplayers.
 
On Oct 4 starting at 6 a.m. Pacific time, Nintendo will be stating a 24 hour "Live" in game camera in one of the forests in the Galar Region.

Like standard nature cameras it will show Pokémon just wandering by in their daily life.

Expect Already confirmed Pokémon along with not yet revealed and completely new ones.
 
The leaks have begun. At least two people have their hands on the game and a third has the guide. Quite a few of the new mons (including the starter final evos) are out there.
 
The Water and Fire starters have good stats, apparently.
