Blazblue Cross Tag Battle.

Honestly, I feel like Season 2 was a waste now.

Re-used BlazBlue, UNIEL and Persona Sprites, still leaving the other 4 Series in the Crossover Badly under Represented. Even more Arcana Hearts would have made sense since they are still Sprits, as are Akatsuki Blitzkamph. I get Senran Kagura and RWBY they need to make the sprites from scratch but my point still stands. This is more 3 games on high Rep and 4 games on low or Critically low.

While I am happy on Elizabeth getting in, some of the more interesting Characters in Taokaka and Arakune are still on the out.

Hell, Bullet can get in for double gauntlet memes with Yang, and she is still left out.


Just...disappointed.

Why would you make brand new sprites when you don't have to? Also its literally called BLAZBLUE cross tag battle, of course its going to get the most reps.

As for the more weirdo characters, they already said straight out the gate that they wanted to prioritize simplified characters to attract more people. Idk how you could make such a technical character like Arakune simple AND faithful with his curse mechanic. As someone who loves Valk, mu 12 and S.Labrys, i feel for ya.
 
I see you left out Arcana Hearts sprites and Akatsuki Blitzkamph sprites from my argument.

And while I acknowledge Arakune and his Curse Mechanc being weird (Which is why I did not bring up Liechi and how her staff can be independent for some of her moves), you ignored Tao whose mechanic is simply mobility & quick attacks.

Still, my point stands: For a crossover that started with Four Series and is now up to Seven, it feels more like a Three series crossover on the amount of Roster Reps.

Tournament showings of characters notwithstanding.
 
Blitzkampfs sprites were too uh, outdated to use as they were imo. No opinion on arcana heart as i hadnt touched the series and ca t speak confidently for it.

As for Tao, there's another thing that contributes to crossovers: popularity. Not to say Tao is unpopular at all, but compared to others like Celica or hazama, or even Mai, ahe kind of falls short. I wouldnt mind seeing her in tho.

And lastly, again, its a Blazblue game first and foremost. When you crossover with multiple series like this, not everyone is gonna recieve equal treatment. They could have just atuck with the original 4 and kept expanding those, but they decided to throw some more bones to even obscure franchises (seriously im not sure akatsuki would even be here if he wasnt a guest in UNIB)

Were you expecting all 9 characters to be new sprites? They already showed the new newcomers up front at Evo, I fully expected the rest of the pack to be recycled. And given how much clamoring I've heard for Hilda, Adachi, and Elizabeth, I'd say they made great picks here.

Again no, I was not expecting all 9 to be new. Hoping there would be at least 1 more new, but not expecting it.

Also like I said, I was hoping there would be a bit more reps added from the other crossovers than BB, UNIEL and P4AU. Like I said, looking at the roster, you almost could remove the other game reps & crossovers and not notice.

Keyword: Almost


Also my last argument on Taokaka: we have Kaka clan kittens all over the lobby hub, but no Tao. Sad for Tao.

Remember at the time a lot of people were complaining about how much later we got the games after Japan. They were listening to feedback!

Still, it sucks that they wouldn't go back and do it later in response to further feedback. Like, not even for the BBCF Special Edition rerelease?

Maybe one day we'll get it, the fact Xrd Strive is getting a dub and Mori seems to be reiterating that it's gonna happen means they got the memo that we like dubs.
Unlikely, but ya never know. Maybe when CF is ported to PS5
 
They'll do it for the next new installment whenever that happens, but if they didn't do it for Special Edition I don't expect them to ever go back to CF. That was their chance and they passed it up.

So I just got the expansion, and I'm wondering... I just found out that Color 18 is a reference of some sort, like how there's Peach Nine and Spiderman Merkava.

Can someone give me a list? I know it'll take time, but still...
