Grand Theft Auto V

Too bad for us PC gamers......we have to WAIT! But it is going to be a worthwhile experience for what lies ahead is a far more superior product.

So, I got GTA V for Christmas because my parents are awesome.
But since I'm a paranoid nut job, I looked up "GTA V broke my PS3"
And apparently, this is a semi-uncommon problem.
It's more of the "Straw that broke the camel's back" looks like, but can anyone verify that?
Wouldn't want my wanton lust of destruction to break Ole' Sasha.

It probably wasn't actually GTAV, or if it was I'm sure it's patched by now. Because no company is actually going to get legitimate reports of their game breaking people's consoles and not patch ASAP. The game has been out for months, if it still has that bad of a bug running about Rockstar must be run by a group of monkeys banging computers with wrenches.
Of course, it's hard to imagine competent programmers accidentally making a video game that destroys PS3's... actually, it's hard to imagine incompetent programmers doing that either, really. I don't know how you would do it, even if the PS3 lets you screw with the OS or the bios through 3rd party software (and I'm 99.99999999% positive that it doesn't, because it would take hackers a matter of minutes to crack it open if it did) I can't imagine how you would manage to screw with those files on accident. And if it didn't screw with the ps3/bios files, then it would simply crash rather than permanently break your PS3, unless there's something weird where there's a stack overflow but the console doesn't crash. I guess it could accidentally set off an anti-piracy measure that bricks your PS3? That would be odd. All of this is much more far-fetched than a group of stupid people whose ps3's broke for other reasons while they were playing GTAV, though, that's for sure.
