To think it's been almost a year since Squigly was first revealed. Quite a few changes have happened since then, huh? Only time will tell how this year turns out.

Some small news regarding the other builds of Skullgirls, and a lot of Big Band information below the break.

  • Non-PC related news
    • PS3 build is still in testing with Sony.
    • 360 build is waiting on legal material.
    • Linux Build was mentioned "Shakesoda promised us something amazing this week..."
  • Big Band
    • New Big Band Palettes
      • King Dedede
      • Big O
    • New Big Band stage "Under the Bridge", along with a wip version of the stage's music.
    • Music notes now appear when you use sound stun.
    • Beat Extend now uses Sound Stun (but only once per combo).
      • Cannot combo off a second Beat Extend
    • Minimum scaling on Big Band's supers has been returned to normal.
    • Level 3 hitbox is now taller than before.
    • Giant Step brings opponent closer on hit.
    • Several normals got a damage increase.
    • c.mk brings opponent closer on hit.
    • Fixed a bug with treble clef and canceling out of dash.
    • New V.O. for when Big Band takes damage.
    • Parrying changes
      • Parry timing is now uniform. "Same amount of hitstop for the same strength attack"
      • Off a successful parry, you can parry mid hits high and low.
      • Can now parry assists, both high and low.

Also, @Mike_Z, you said that someone should remind you about moving the bell halves (when Big Band gets hit) to the back layer. So if no one else has done so, consider this that reminder!

Something else minor was that Ravid said he'd try getting to the bottom of the whole hats business.

When is the beta being updated ;-;

Like, the TF2 hats?

Or will Eightysixed be selling Skullgirls-brand fedoras and tribley's?

TF2 hats.

Gold Star the workshop items using the item importer, pray the devs will take notice, hope the backlash isn't too much, promos come out when Big Band is released?

Any amount of backlash in regard to the TF2 hats have already passed when damage control happened during the fundraiser. Lab Zero offered a limited time refund for the people who JUST wanted the hats. It hurt very slightly financially in the grand scheme of things, but it allowed the fundraiser to save some face as a result.

Ah, crap... I wasn't in the indiegogo but I preordered, do I get a hat?
I'm not really a TF2 hat fanatic, but I want to rep Skullgirls. And my head feels naked. but whatever.

Yep you should, assuming it will be released at some point. The reason that Valve had a problem with the SG hats in the first place was that they don't like exclusive hats that would have been available only to IGG backers, so if Lab Zero do release hats, it will be available for everyone to obtain somehow.

I believe it was also that Lab Zero was guaranteeing the hats when they didn't talk to and/or finalize any deal regarding the hats.

There's an easy solution to that which Valve have been implementing for a while: The accessories in TF2 have certain "qualities" to them, some of which change the appearance slightly and all of which change the description. For example, when TF2 went free-to-play, all the hats earned by players before the launch were granted the "Vintage" quality -- nobody earns Vintage hats anymore. And while Valve is willing to introduce tie-ins for other games, they've always gotten complaints about the so-called exclusivity of the accessories; the solution was the "Genuine" quality. Anyone can randomly earn any accessory or weapon skin on the list, but you can only get a Genuine tie-in accessory if you've bought that specific game; i.e. if the SG hats are put into the game, they will be added to the random-drops list, but also anyone who actually owns SG on Steam will automatically get all the hats in Genuine quality. So you may see some Pyro running around wearing a Big Band Detective's Hat, but he could either have picked it up from a random drop, or he's a Skullgirls player -- and only in the latter case will it be a Genuine Detective's Hat.
