Sony No Longer Sending Skullgirls Encore Vouchers

Skullgirls Encore finally made its debut on the North American PSN last week. Those that purchased the original Skullgirls on the NA PSN were promised to be sent vouchers entitling them to download a free copy of Encore. While most users have received their vouchers, some players are still waiting and unfortunately, Lab Zero have just announced that Sony is no longer sending them out. However, Lab Zero still has you covered and will be sending out download codes individually to all those who have not received their vouchers.

A quick update for those who did not receive a voucher:

Sony is no longer sending out vouchers. If you haven't received one by now, don't keep checking your PS3 message inbox.

We are still waiting to receive codes from Sony to give to people who didn't receive a voucher who were supposed to get one.

Once we receive the codes, we will announce it on Twitter and Facebook and you can send us your PSN ID so we can verify that you own the original Skullgirls. Once we verify that, we'll provide you with a code to download Skullgirls Encore for free.

** PLEASE DO NOT TELL US YOUR PSN ID YET. Also, please DO NOT give us your password EVER. **

Man that sucks. Going to let my friends know about this if they haven't gotten theirs at this point.
 
Whoa, that's a lot more work than I was expecting us to do. I guess we employ some nice people!

Have they been properly sent out in europe, because I haven't gotten mine yet, although I can't access PSN so I am not sure if stuff can be sent to my account.
Edit: Okay by looking at the FAQ, this mainly seems to apply to the USA. Will the voucher system still be a thing that is done for europe?

Yes, but we don't expect to have the same difficulties we did with voucher distribution here in North America. We'll announce a release date as soon as we have one.
 
Okay then, thanks for the response. Also another question, does the voucher have a time limit for it's use, Because where I am I can't really connect to PSN and access the voucher when I can get it. So would the voucher last up until it is used or will it be gone after a while?

We have no reason to believe that the voucher will expire.

I have a couple of questions concerning the vouchers.

First of all, if I already owned SG on the PS3 and received a voucher for Encore, am I required to use it or would I be able to purchase SG for a second time if I choose to?

Third question is whether this would lead to any amount of profit for Labzero, or if I would simply be buying something I technically already own.

Fourth, if able to and do decide to re-buy SG what can be done with the voucher I received? Could it be given back to Labzero for them to do (insert reason) with?

I guess I should probably check to see if I even got the voucher first.

Money goes to Autumn, though, not to Lab Zero.
I have no idea if you can use the voucher on another account, but I doubt it. You can't really give it back, it's just a download code equivalent.

Just use the voucher. I'd say the same thing even if it would give us money - we went through all the trouble of having them generated, just take the game for free already! :^)

Currently Lab Zero makes some amount of money from: PC DLC sales and EightySixed Skullgirls clothing sales. And possibly Sanshee stuff but I forget. Anything else you buy goes elsewhere.

This matter is also covered in our voucher FAQ:

Yes! When you follow the voucher to the PSN store and see the code to redeem Skullgirls Encore, you can instead give that code to someone else and they can redeem the game for free.

If you really want to buy the game again you're welcome to do so, but as Mike said, be sure not to use the voucher before doing so or it won't work.
