Hey, everyone! I recently upgraded to a gaming PC and a Corsair Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard, so I can finally join you guys on the Steam Train. I figure instead of stealing a Dualshock 3 from my brother, I'll play keyboard and use this as a chance to level up my Hitbox skills! Anything in Bold is something I'm looking for some advice in, if you'd like to help.

Hitbox Training
  • Get used to calling assists with diagonals, instead of with pinky macros.
  • Get used to flat-fingering for Throw and Tag.
  • Bust out those combos until they're natural, again.
  • Is there any way to map Down + Up = Up on a keyboard, to match the behavior of a Hitbox?
Team 1
Parasoul
  • I really need to stop starting every string with (j.LP j.HP v) 2LK 2MK 5HP~[assist]~HP.
  • Try neutral jumping sometimes, so I'm not always predictably barreling into my opponent.
  • Get more comfortable with my frame traps--I'm too scared of Blockbuster mashing to enforce my mixups.
  • Learn some new resets / frametraps--I've been using Diamond Drop / M Hornet Bomber for ages, and I'm thinking about switching to H LnL / Cilia Slide to prepare for the Bomber nerf.
  • I don't use Toss at all. In fact, I have absolutely no idea how to capitalize on having Tears on the screen.
  • What the HECK do I do against Fukua / Peacock? Against good zoners, I often have to raw tag to Bella and eat an Argus / Best Friends. Barreling in with j.LP works sometimes on Peacock when I'M REALLY FEELIN' IT (sorry), but it's usually huge risk and no reward against Fukua.
Cerebella
  • I don't frame trap often enough. For some reason, I think people are going to jump out of everything for free.
  • I don't use Lock 'n Load... like at all. I think it's a good move, I've just... never used it, not even as an assist.
  • Practice getting out Showstopper on command.
  • I'm very passive in the neutral. I don't have the guts to bust out the hail-Mary LnLs and Battle Toads that Bella is known for.
Double
  • Does Double have mixups? I just sort of jump in and stagger my Cilia Slide / Luger in the hopes that I frustrate someone into pressing something.
  • I sort of brain-dead jump in with j.HP / j.LK. I have to consciously choose j.LK / j.MP / j.HP based on spacing / timing.
  • Learn more mixups. All I have is 5HK ^ j.LK(1) j.MK(2) j.HK(2) j.214MK v (Low/Throw) and 5HK ^ j.LK j.MP(3) j.HK(2) v ^ (7j.LK bait / j.LK / Throw).
  • Learn to actually play anchor Double besides Luger xx Catellites.
Team 2
Eliza
  • People are always saying how 2HK wrecks Peacock, but... I'm not seeing it. I always get tagged by L Extend assist.
  • Get more consistent with the j.MK AD j.LK j.MK v 5LP 2MP (whiff) burst bait.
  • Do more during neutral then Throne and j.MK AD j.MK while calling assists.
  • Get tighter with my ambiguous Squigly (2HP) / Horus mixup.
  • Learn to punish stuff with Sekmeht. Actually... learn to use Sekmeht at all outside of combos.
Squigly
  • Learn to stagger / Stancel pressure more. Most of my Stanceling involves canned combo fodder and resets / panicking after a blocked 2HP / 6HP.
  • Learn the timing for the 5HK j.LK (delay) j.HP(whiff) j.236MK crossover against Big Band.
  • Learn to take advantage of charges. Besides charging Dragon's Breath for stancels, I don't really charge my specials, any more.
  • My neutral game is getting stale. Mostly j.LK / j.236MK and poking with 2LK / 2MK.
Big Band
  • I've been absolutely demolished by Big Band anchors pulling hilariously cheesy armor shenanigans. I WANT THAT.
  • Like Bella, I need the yomi to call out hail-Mary kara-Brass Knuckles.
  • I keep dropping my 2LK 5MP~LP~2LK~LP~LP+MP...
  • Need to work on parrying Georges and Love Darts.
