Soooooo I LOVE anime...but lately I've been annoyed as hell of the terrible crap that's been dropping season after season. It's so bad until I don't even care about some shows I've been excited for. But anyways, I've always loathed naruto and all the ridiculousness of that show. But what i wanted to ask was this game worth buying?

Why &/or Why not?

SPECIFICS! No vague answers please. that helps no one.

It's very very very very very good.
It's got a lot of cool characters, a simple control scene, amazingly good boss fights, and just pretty good fun in general.
You don't even need to like Naruto to enjoy it.

i dont really care much about boss fights, but the mechanics....are they deep enough to warrant continued play and feel rewarding or is it just 1-button presses and stuff like that?

You use two buttons for fighting. Melee, and shuriken
Some characters have shuriken/ranged combos, but most of them are melee combos.
You usually change the combo with a direction after the third hit, and you usually want to combo cancel into more with a dash.
It's a pretty simple fighting game but it's very fun

If you pay attention, yes.
There's some stuff that won't make sense because duh.
But there is a "Ninja World Timeline" which gives an abridged version of the story up until the game's beginning (Which is very late into the manga's lifetime)

Personally I'd put the Naruto fighting games series in a casual type of fighting game.
Mashing one button to do an entire combo string isn't as satisfying as creating your own string of punches and kicks.
There's also mashing the block button to do a parry-type substitution while getting combo'd. (unless that was changed) Requires meter but yeah.
Special moves also require a bit of meter and are a two button press of Y, then B.

I'd put the mechanics similar to the old DBZ fighting game series. Fun, but not a very deep game.

Anyone know how to make sure your graphics settings doesn't reset when you exit it?

Hmmm I see. The last Dbz game I truly liked was bufodai 3 (not tenkaichi!) which was the one fought in 2d style. Probably one of the most accurate Dbz games I've played and characters truly felt unique. Krillin would have a hard time beating teen gohan @ ss2 & teen gohan fully powered up was basically on par with perfect cell...it was honestly done of the most fun I've had playing a game by myself against AI since only my cousin would play me sometimes.

The button-pressing was super simple then too, but the mind game aspect was still fun despite not having a bunch of tourney mechanics. If you can at least cancel attacks and have fun w/that pulling off over the top moves, then I guess I wouldn't mind checking out the series so I know wtf is going on.

Advice on what episodes I absolutely need to watch and the series of episodes that are filler?

Many people are reporting technical issues on the steam community page, but otherwise it's a fun game. However it's not really a competetive game and has some really broken stuff (Hinata, Pain Glitch).

Please no spoilers :P i havent watched it all yet man :/

Anyways I got the game and I gotta admit, it's pretty funny. Typical Shounen Oh-dang-bout-to-get-beat-HOLD-UP-still-got-2-secret-techniques kind of thing, but I like seeing the level-up aspect....like every other show for that matter. But mostly I just wannna appreciate the game and relish the moves. furreal. But especially the transformations.

story mode or stuff like that is good? can you pick up the pace with the manga/anime playing it?

Story mode in the Storm games is always fantastic. I think they do just a great, if not a better, job than the anime :p

i got it, but where does it píck up? does it covers all the story arcs? sterts where the anime became shippuden?
is there any character profiles or stuff like that? or i do need to find all the other games (or the anime, or the manga) to catch up with what happended?

Storm 1: all of Part 1 (with some omissions)
Storm 2: Beginning of Shippuden to the end of Pain arc
Storm 3: the Five Kage Summit arc (after Pain) to the middle of where they are now

well, it looks like i'll have to muster my strenght and watch the anime again... someday... when tenten and hinata are actually useful to the plot

They stop being useful after Part 1. Hinata does have a moment in Part 2, but I won't say when

Basically almost every character bar Gaara get Krillin'd
Somehow Gaara gets stronger from losing his Tailed Beast
