Valentine Filia Fukua
I've been playing for a year and a half with hardly any progress recently so I decided to start one of these to mark some progress

Main thing to do right now is
1. Actually figure out a way to finish/have an optimal Val combo
2. Learn how to play filia (at all) or learn Bella(?)

Dunno really know where to start but I guess me and Val have some training room dates.

2. Learn how to play ... Bella(?)

Notation on the combo (my own bnb, 8.1k) is:
JUMP IN (j.HK) - cr.LK - cr.MP - cr.HP - j.MK - j.HK - cr.LK - cr.MK - j.MP(immediate) - j.HK(delayed) - cr.MP - cr.HP - j.LP(mash) - j.HP - LP(x2) - MP - HK - dp.HP - qcf.PP

thank you so much for the quick reply!
I know Val needs a good reversal assist, and I dunno bout Filia, so was considering learning Bella and doing cerecopter? or horns? whichever is better.
Definitely gonna hit the training room with Bella tonight.

Cerebella's best assists are:
  • Lock n' Load
    • + Covers the largest forward area, allows for approaches, counter-calls, and mixups
    • - Slow to strike, and easily punishable if whiffed
  • Cerecopter
    • + Locks down for the longest time, allows you create mix-up opportunities
    • - Slow start-up, can be difficult to convert from for some characters
  • Battle Butt
    • + Armored and quick, this serves as a, "get off me," assist
    • - Sends opponent across screen, making it very hard to convert from
Horns isn't very good as an assist. If you need something like that, go with Battle Butt (entered as < > HP+HK on the assist selection screen)

What Night Phyre said.
I run Val(H Bypass)/Bella(HP Lock n' Load) so I get to do fun stuff like this:

Lock n' Load assist practically a projectile that covers Val while she runs forward. Also if you get tagged, the opponent could get counterhit(2.7k damage) once they try to start a ground chain on your point character. The assist is pretty abusable. However, this assist choice demands that your defense and neutral game are on point. Once they are on you, Bella can't do much to help you escape. So if you decide on Lock n' Load assist and still really want a reversal, keep Filia.

Also, here's a solo Val combo thing:

Why would you tell anyone to do this if they're having trouble with the game

Not only is LnL not as good as Cerecopter in general for Valentine it requires two people to be alive and is somewhat hard to do. It's a lot easier to learn that a rinse repeat combo that doesn't require an assist.

Also BnB that requires a vial to be loaded beforehand is just a contradiction. Only the middle combo is good if you abuse it with resets

I wasn't going to use LnL anyway. I was going to either use copter or battle butt. still need to play around with it.
Don't have the combo down yet but i am working on it. (the bella one)
i'll start workign on the Val middle combo afterward.

I don't get what the problem is. I'm just suggesting the possibilities of LnL assist. High damage and mix up potential, but needs the player to work on defense and neutral game to be effective.(hint hint wink wink)
The same rings true with Cerecopter because of its slow start up and it can be interrupted. I don't play Cerecopter assist, so I don't have advice on it. This game is filled with players that chose dp assists, so I chose an assist that would punch those type of assists in the face.

Combos with assists aren't bad to learn. It's extra damage and puts emphasis that you're playing a team. Plus it's really not that hard. You just s.hp > call assist > HK Bypass. The guy has been playing for a year and a half. I'm sure he has some decent execution skills. If not, it's something outside the normal bnb to work on, and his execution may improve from adding assists into combos. No real harm done.

Having a bnb with vials loaded isn't a contradiction. It's simply an extra option in case if you have one on you. If you're the type of player to vial load fullscreen or after 3 s.hk, then those are for you. If not, the vid shows 2 variations without vials anyways. One for light characters and one for heavies.

In the end, we all find our own paths. I can show klaww here how I play, but it might not fit his playstyle. It's up to him to discover what works best for him.

Still debating on what my team should compose of, but am liking Bella.
I have gotten the first half of that bnb down.
going to work on that some more tonight and then will work on a val bnb.

Decided Bella was not in the better interest of my team.
Still having trouble with the first air part of the optimized val combos...like can't get the mp to connect at all..
