Beowulf Thread: Retiring from Retirement

Oh yeah I love how it wrecks assists, I just don't use to facilitate my movement.

Also, one of my favorite things to do, but only in training mode so far. With chair up, you can do standing HK, and cancel with chair pick up before the kick comes out to get like a single, faster dash. I think that could be something cool for like throw mixups where he gets closer with hk, chair cancel, grab.

I use it, because I don't know if it's a bug or just not programmed fully (I imagine so), you become like invulnerable during the recovery. It can throw people off if they try to punish, and then you just keep going through your animation.
Eh? He's vulnerable, then (if you don't tech) he's on the floor knocked down, then he's doing his normal wakeup which is invincible but that's normal?

That makes sense... I might just be going crazy like always. If I see it again and this doesn't explain what I'm seeing, I'll try and record it.
 
What's Beowulf's temp move list? I can't do some of his moves yet.

From grab mode:
-QCF+Tag: Snapback
-Down+K on ground: Dance
-Down+P in air: Frog Splash
-Forward or Back+P: Fisherman's Throw
KK: Chair Recover
QCF+PP: Arm Super

Yo, it just hit me that with that winpose, Beowulf needs a "I'm burning up!" line to honor Krauser!
 
can we not stream rip since RU has been uploading them to youtube recently, it is kinda disrespectful to super arcade

I told you all Beowulf would have air maneuverability to counter Peacock!!!

My god he's become a whole new character with his latest move! It's beautiful...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's: Peter/Ravidrath, Mike, Brady????? (not sure about this one since I've only heard his voice), Brian, Richard, Jon, Vince????? (headphones = maybe sound guy), Render and then Alex
 
oh mama~ I'm liking this new update. I'm kinda meh on the air wulf tackle (Storm's screaming from MvC2 flashes thru my head) but hey if it remains unsafe on whiff then i'm fine with it. oh and the new move, makes for a nasty mixup.
 
I think I'm the only one who finds picking up The Hurting hard.

Really dig the enhanced version of Beo's headbutt! Using his hood as a makeshift weapon- what a badass!

I fear Beowulf will make Cerebella obsolete with his amazing snapback skills which effectively counter the bane of grapplers taking on teams.

Looks great! I get the impression whomever gets picked to be Beowulf's voice actor will have a lot of yelling to do...
 
I just noticed that The Hurting also has a large magnet underneath her seat.
I'm imagining Chicken's version of Human Hurting attached to Beowulf butt to butt and it's hilarious.
 
I think i'm going to start playing beo with val because those two can really put a damper on peacock with brass knuckles
 
Beowulf keeps getting cooler as a character with all the yelling, smug faces, hood stuff and have you seen him hang upside down when he get's caught by Excellabella?
But as he get's cooler I get more worried about his voice screwing him up for me.

The BEST PART of this for me is how SF4's 1.04 update will be changing a bunch of 360s to HCBx2s. What in the actual fsck are they thinking?

Ok, that actually sounds pretty annoying for players who are used to 360 motions on their characters.

You're a keyboard player chicken? I used to be (I left my controller at home while abroad and bought Skullgirls) and I had to re-learn everything when I got my controller back.
I always found it easier to do dragon punches on the keyboard myself, but yeah half circle might be tricky... we'll have to see in practice, as usual.
Poccola probably won't have any problem pulling it off, he's an awesome player- and unless I'm mistaken he's a keyboard player.

Is it at least optional? 360ºs are a lot quicker to pull off (and the lenience makes them remarkably easy), for 'gief's sake!
I went to look up the 1.04 patch notes but all I read was about trials, Omega mode and a furry convention. But I guess that was the patch note post for CASULS.
I get it if they wanted to change 720ºs so they could be easier to pull without having to jump, dash buffer, etc (like the grapple DMs in KoF games that almost all use HCx2 motions) but changing the 360ºs sounds arbitrarily asinine. Somewhat ironically, I was mad when they changed Dictator's Ultra 2 from HCBx2 to that ungodly diagonal double charge but that motion is absurd.

Unless I'm missing something, the changes are solely for Honda and Boxer - 720º to HCBx2 (Viper's Super also changes) - but weren't these the original motions to begin with? :S

Going to be rough since every time I want to do 41236 to make it forget the 6 input (For not getting Excellabella when I want DD) it usually ends up turning into

But if it's a taunt, you'll be doing it out of combat most likely so you can make it a slow smooth input.

But don't even get me started on Uniels half circles..
I missed 6C > 41236C [6C hits] about 50 times in a row during friendlies, then switched to Pad and got it first try lol.

I typo'd, it's 720s. Sorry.
Same logic applies though, doesn't matter if they were original motions, HCBx2 is HARDER than 720.

Also SG's HCBx2 accepts any combination of F,D,B and F,DF,DB,B twice. It's not all that hard on keyboard, for a HCBx2 that is.

Super happy to hear this as a keyboard player who occasionally goofs up pot busters because of a missed diagonal. Thanks!
