Borderlands

Just imagine a whole team of Claptrap, a whole of complete RNG related shenanigans, it would be brilliant.

That being said I hope he has a skill tree which makes his move set less RNG based.

But why? Kinda what makes it entertaining. Needs more RNG hoping all skill trees make it even more RNG based.

Well I was thinking along the lines of the ultimate ability of one of his skill tree being you can control which skill you gets which could either result in silliness or destruction. I am not sure what I would like his other skills to focus on though. maybe of them could buff some of the skills he gets in RNG.

Noooooo no control over Claptraps skills. I love his randomness it will be more entertaining

Fair enough, just speculating as this point since Claptrap has been the most hush hush character so far so still speculating at what he has this point.

I think it would be cool if his class mods could affect the ability to make certain abilities appear more up than others, note I would do this just to get the Rubber Ducky item more regularly.

Hoping for him to get a Moxxi skill to spew innuendo during battle.

Pirate ship Claptrap hype.

Also his Action Skill isn't supposed to be RNG. It gives you a skill based on the situation you're in.

Oh thank buddha we don't have RNGesus abilties, note some people would want that, I don't. I have played enough games that rely on luck or randomness to know I RNG is not something I would like to rely on as ability, it would be fun but it could also backfire in a tense situation.

Different effects every time I hit the button?

YES. THIS MAKES ME WANT TO PLAY CLAPTRAP EVEN MORE NOW.

Also, an explanation by the PlayStation Blog of Claptrap gameplay.

Also, an official description of the skill from one of Gearbox's forum mods:

"VaultHunter.EXE will analyze the situation, determine which Vault Hunter would do the best job, and then load an ACTION PACKAGE allowing Claptrap to fight in that manner for a short period of time. It also gives you Full Health and Heatlh Regeneration. VaultHunter.EXE is still in beta and its definition of "Vault Hunter" is questionable at best.

Warning: VaultHunter.EXE is currently classified as malware. Your allies may be affected."

They probably want to avoid RNG skills after all of the salty players got mad at Krieg's Silence the Voices skill.

Nah. I doubt they care. Heck, RNG practically determines everything you're gonna get in-game, so why not have an RNG-based skill?

Good point.

On a different note, how do you guys feel about Anthony Burch's writing? I preferred BL1's writing and humor, with Jack being the only really good part of BL2. Burch seems too scared of offending people and sort of "tumblred" up the game. Ellie is only fat to include fat people, Hammerlock is gay, while Axton and Torgue are bisexual just to include the LGBT community. I don't have a problem with these people, but I have a problem with putting them in so nobody calls you a sexist or a homophobe. Burch has even removed the word "midget" from the Presequel for being "offensive", and the classic Bitch SMG has been changed to the Fatale. BL1 goal was comedy, not making people happy. There was a gay character in the Knoxx DLC, but it was funny because he was an inmate. His purpose was to make you laugh, then come out and stab you, not announce that you shouldn't hate gay people and that Burch isn't homophobic.

End rant. Sorry, but this was on my mind. Feel free to ignore if I'm being an idiot.

Wait, what? I've heard absolutely nothing about this. Do you have any confirmable sources for that info?

Eh, it seems likely that the guns will be new guns in familiar packages. I know that one of the trailers showed a Gub with different stats than normal and a different red-text line. Also, they'll probably give the midgets different names that still reference their height. Maybe "Ankle-Biters" or "Leprechauns."

And it's not Tumblr until there is crusading for a warped sense of equality and lots of tripping.

I didn't really see a announcement from any of the characters that you shouldn't hate LGBT Fat Disformed Midget people. I just saw humor all the way through the game. Unless I missed Mr Torgue explosive orgy of awesome parade for equality DLC featuring Axton... Most of the stuff was said then you were sent off on some crazy quest. Pretty sure a majority of the characters would pump you full of...bullets before reciting a speech on equality.

Also I am here for Bisexual Axton

so why is this game full price?
why is this game full price?

Because this is a complete game where the only real similarities to BL2 plot-wise are that Handsome Jack and characters from BL1 are involved. Also, completely new environments, completely new classes and characters, completely new gun types (and new guns for old types), completely new gameplay mechanics...

Should I go on?

Maybe I'm looking to deep into it.

Also on the pricing, Randy Pitchford wanted to make it less than full price, but 2K said no.

Let's not forget that Borderlands 2 actually hit the maximum amount of DLC it can actually handle.

RIP Moonbase DLC.

Gearbox is making a Tiny Tina related announcement later today. Current theory is that the Tina look-a-like from the Claptrap trailer is her mom and will be playable. We'll see.

So wow, been a while since this thread was alive.
Two things
Pre-Sequel's out and that's just dandy.
And a collection of both Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel will come out for the PS4 and Xbone in March.
Thrilling.

I also finally got around to starting BL 2 GOTY
So two things
When I start a new character do I have to do the ice level every single time

And what should I do for Gunzerking?

Pre Sequel was garbage.

When I start a new character do I have to do the ice level every single time

You have to do the ice level for every new character, but on playthrough 3 it starts you after KnuckleDragger.

And what should I do for Gunzerking?

For Gunzerking, you should have a Moxie or slag weapon in your left hand, and your weapon of choice in your right. Unkempt Harrold is a popular choice, but early on anything will do. Get the skills Money Shot and Inconceivable. They do crazy damage together, vut it's RNG based.
