So, I've been trying to completely rework my Parasoul, but stuff I do consistently in training mode completely goes out the fucking window in real games, even in games against the AI. What actually happens in real games is a sort of cross between old habits and stuff I've been doing in training, which is absolutely fucking awful when you're trying to go from "c.lk -> c.mk -> launch" to "c.lk -> c.mk -> s.hpx2 -> tear stuff", and end up consistently getting "c.lk -> c.mk -> launch -> stand there and watch while opponent is launched".

How the fuck can I get that stuff I've been doing in training mode into actual games?

Play games against the AI on Sleepwalk/Easy where your entire focus is on landing the new combo, until you do so consistently.
Much like "How do I do this combo", this is just a practice thing. It will take time to cut out old muscle memory, and it will take time to get the new stuff into your hands.

^^this is great advice. Funnily enough though cynical, I'm trying to unlearn tear based stuff and go for launcher strings.

Tear strings get pbgcd through/punished on pushblock if you autopilot them. Having an unsafe string like the launcher string teach you to 2 move confirm into tear is where its at imho. Also, the tear strings are terrible for happy birthdays... Probably the biggest reason to drop them.

i have this problem too, particularly when im trying to do new resets. what happens is my hands just get a mind of their own and i press the wrong combination of buttons or end up just standing there as i try to remember what i should be doing.

i think practicing in arcade mode is the best way to go about it, now ive got to get in the habit of playing that too.

The best way is to just force yourself to do it. Focus only on landing that combo in a match.

You'll probably lose because you won't be playing to win, you'll be playing to learn.
