So when's the change & Fukua patch being instituted on Consoles, and will Mike Z's test fix of the locked sections on 360 Skullgirls be a part of the patch?

Wow are you kidding me? Now there is a point in time where i would have rioted naked in the streets over this, but as it has been said the game has already been raped in every orifice so it's best just to avoid more trouble with powerful organizations that don't understand what beauty is at all costs. At this point in time i am content with simply adding this to my mountain of evidence that points to the obvious fact that big business and government are basically the same thing (and out to get you), and move on while quietly plotting revenge. At any rate i like the color that was decided on and am glad a lot of though went into it. It definitely adds a lot more pop to her design, instead of just "Woo a nurse wearing white with red crosses, how original..."

lack of a specific pantone color isn't fair. that's like saying they own all the red. What if black ovals were someones symbol no characters could have pupils.

We'll be submitting the Fukua patch on Monday.

Sony takes like 2-3 days to pass, if the build is good. No clue how long MS will take.

And, yes, Mike's 360 fix will be in there.

I hope fan artists keep the cross as red. No reason to make it purple as there's almost no chance anyones going to go after you.

Upon seeing this my first impression was " What da fok". but then after giving it some thought and came to the conclusion that it doesn't impact game-play, therfore acceptible since :VAL: is already OP. A color is a color and since "red cross" loves "RED" so much....let em have it..............(go Paint the town Red)

Well, the pink ones are good, without hurt a lot the character. Val is the most troubled one because is in her official pallete (Illeum too, but she are not playable now). But... we are already cursed a lot to take some desnecessary risks!

But i too think the red cross are a universal symbol...

So Val's profile on the official site still shows her with red crosses. That's gonna match the rest of the status quo too, right?

I've darkened it a little bit. IMO looks better.

Yeah it looks better darker.

I have a question.
Is her eye keeping the red color because of the lore?
All red-eyed characters went through weird experiences that changed their metabolism in some way. Squigly, Filia, Marie, Painwheel (and I bet Peacock too if she had eyes). Maybe Val has a single caracteristic that explains her eye color and cross-shaped pupil, and that also allows her to fight super powered people equally.

Honestly I don't see what the big deal is she herself is basically the same only "1" real color change and by my personal standards this is not only acceptable, but I think she looks better this way.

I don't really mind the decision, its just a little sad to think red isn't the default.

I understand that changing the colour is the quickest way to get this issue resolved quickly. I'd totally volunteer to help go through her frames to add circles around the crosses as @RemiKz suggested though, if it means that we can save the red in the long run. Count me as not a fan of purple crosses. Just putting it out there.

The only problem I have with this is how neon the pink is, can't we use a softer pink that's easy on the eyes?

This sort of thing is why people think copyright is silly.

It's funny how many people hate the color pink. You can see this behavior many times before in real life. The most curious part is that usually this hate is for cultural reasons and not the color itself.

Noooo I'm like 90% percent sure is that the pink chosen is horrible/or it just plain doesn't fit her design.

The hell? Dude its not the color itself that's upsetting people, it's the fact that nobody think it fits Valentine.

I did the same thing, but mainly to demonstrate my point about her hair now being the wrong color. Anything, even green, looks better next to fuchsia than that shade of blue.
After seeing that picture, I disagree. Just sayin'.

Also yo people, remember that the guy who created the character chose this color. Admittedly his first choice was red, but you can't really say it "doesn't fit her".

Is it possible to get the name of the Red Cross's shade of red, and use a lighter or darker shade which would make the color "technically" different?

If not, experiment with different colors other than the proposed change, maybe a vote?

Edit: Read the thread, opinion invalid. Just giving mo...

I think they are pretty adamant on not letting this be a vote.

I think when they say it doesn't fit her, they literally mean the color clashes with the rest of the colors in the design.

No more, Mr. NiceGuy. (I made this whole post just to do that.)
Maybe next time read the thread...

It is NOT a "proposed change". It is an "actual already-finished change".
There is no vote, it is already done. It was never going to be a vote.
This was not a suggestion, it was an announcement.

We experimented with many colors, this is what was decided upon. (I do like how people assume we just pulled it out of thin air, just like the assume we do things without research or testing first anytime we do anything. Tanx 4 faith.)

"Technically" different is not different enough to satisfy the organizations which we are required to satisfy.
We don't need to satisfy the Red Cross with a technicality if we end up in court. We need to be vastly different so that someone else (not the Red Cross) can be sure there is no chance of ending up in court in the first place.

Read through thread, I understand. =/

Thought Fukua was coming to consoles on the Eliza update, didn't think it could hit consoles so soon. The build must've not taken to much of L0's time...

Why not? If Alex picked a colour from random and it turned out to be bright yellow (Or any other odd colour) then does it still invalidate everyone's opinion that it doesn't fit her?

Why is this thread still going? Lab Zero have already made the final decision on the colour. I don't really pick default palette when playing Val, but I personally like the new colour change after looking at the in-game screenshots.

Member reaction (before reading entire thread), same happened for me.

I feel like it's insulting to think one knows a character better than its creator, which is why I'm not giving any opinions on what her cross should be colored. If Alex believes it's the right color for her, then it is.

Just as I thought, it looks way better in game. The lighting on the picture is just very unfortunate for that color combo IMO.

It looks fine in game for me. If your'e fighting using default palettes worrying about a small bit of color on the character is probably the last thing on your mind.

It does look a little bright in the official art and it looks like more people are complaining about that one.

Creators knowing what's good for their creations huh...

Of course, there are some exceptions...

Greedo
got
shot first! Though I pretty much have no qualms with George Lucas there because if I happen to see something I dislike get added I still have the original VHS.

Of course because I own Skullgirls on steam only so original color Val is limited for me. Still at least they didnt choose something like that bright yellow you mentioned above. My only irk is it feels a bit too bright in the official art but in game it looks just fine. I'm just glad they didnt have to change the IV spear into grape juice as well for ESRB blood ratings at all during development.

By the way is there any examples of what her story art will look like now? I wonder if its just as bright as the official arts.
