So anyways, I just grabbed the demo for Resurrection and I loved it. I really wanted to try Hsien Ko out but can't win them all.

Seriously considering buying this game and playing the fuck out of it.

Amazing game, teaches you air dasher fundamentals for sure.

I'm on GGPO, PS3 and well I could be on 360 too if that's where you are haha.

Yup, if this game ever teaches me about hop-dashing, it frees up one of my marcos for battle opera.
 
I'm kind of sad that Darkstalker Ressurection didn't do that hot (or so I've been told). Hopefully it didn't kill the chances of a Darkstalkers 4/Vampire...Baker.

I heard it was a top-seller on PSN.

Well, Capcom's never satisfied with sales. I mean, they called Resident Evil 6 a failure, and it sold 5 million!

Anyway, I got the PS Classic version of 3. Really wish they'd make Chronicle playable on PS3, but looks like that won't ever happen. *profound sadness*

Somehow I doubt that a Vampire 4 would go over well honestly. If it would've just ended up being SFxT 2.0 in terms of speed I'd stick to Vampire Savior anyway.

Speaking of which, Vampire Savior is a good game. You all should play it. I like Bulleta.
 
Darkstalkers is really good, I really love the fast pace of the combat and animations are really creative and great looking, even for today.

Darkstalkers is an awesome fighting game and the character designs are awesome. I always liked using Morrigan and Jedah(those blood attacks were awesome). Personally I like Dakrstalkers over Street Fighter, but sadly Darkstalkers isn't as popular :/
 
If they ever DO make a sequel, though, I hope they do the same thing as before, making a lot of characters based off horror tropes, and given the sheer number of horror movies since the late nineties, there's a lot they could do.
Could have a character based on Jason or Freddy....or, better yet, one based on SAW with a bunch of traps or something.
 
Too bad Resurrection is dead. =/
 
Darkstalkers easily has one of the best character designs of any fighting game. Aesthetically it's one of the few franchises that could crossover with Skullgirls and still keep it's charm intact.

Eh, not a fan of GGPO. I can only handle dudes declining and going afk so many times before I get fed up with it. And if 80-100ms is too high for you, I'm sorry. We can't all live in the US. =/
 
Anyone else remember that Darkstalkers Art Contest a year or so ago?
The winner had a pretty novel concept, basically a guy who looted treasures from various myths.
Had Midas' hand, Medusa's Head, Pandora's Box on his sash....it was damned awesome

Yeah, I hope if Darkstalkers ever does get a sequel, Capcom includes him in the game while at the same time showing good will to it's devoted fan based that created him.

Although out of the contest participants I was quite partial to the 2nd place winner Aria Nightweaver.

A guy I was subscribed to did a pretty cool Cthulhu themed character for the contest that still fit in with the style of game I thought.

I'm also really surprised they never had a gorgon character with a warning about being vain. I thought that would of been one of the first things they thought of.
 
I gotta start playing this game again. I kinda flip flopped between Morrigan and Lillith cause I couldn't figure out which one I liked better, of course all my friends were Sasquach Q-bee and the one odd Hsien-ko.

I guess Capcom is making a new fighting game http://blog.games.com/2013/10/26/capcom-working-on-a-new-fighting-game/.
If they were making a new Darkstalkers game I would hope they would do something kinda like the new Guilty Gear(with the look). The chances of that though are slim, but if it's not a new Darkstalkers game I wonder if it will be a Capcom All-Star game.
 
Won't be surprised if it's actually yet another Street Fighter spinoff.

After seeing the new GG, I couldn't agree more. I know a lot of folks aren't fond of the graphical style of SFIV but I personally like it, though that doesn't mean I'd want it for every other fighting game Capcom does, ESPECIALLY Darkstalkers.
But knowing Capcom and how they're deathly afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone, shoryusatsu999's prediction may well end up right. Also, it's kinda weird that in one week they say they have no money resources to develop for PS4 and in the next they announce they are working on a new title. Hopefully it's a PS3/X360 title.
(EDIT: corrected by lightskinwin. I guess "resources" is a even worse state as it can imply both the cash and the man power)


Anyway, as I said in the dedicated topic before the board going down, Nightwarriors (DS2) was the game that really got me hooked into fighting games. Very colorful and vivid with jaw-dropping animation and memorable characters, I think the games still look good today. That said, I sat out of Resurrection because I refuse to play Capcom's game of "Buy our over-priced rererererererelease so we can think about greenlighting a new title." and I completely loathe the interface and "art" they foisted on us as was with Third Strike Online.
As is, I've pretty much lost hope on a new game and have accepted Skullgirls as it's spiritual sequel.

I like pretty much every character in the series so I can't even name a main. IIRC, Felicia was the character I was most proficient with (which isn't really saying anything, mind you).

Capcom never said they didn't have the money to develop a next gen fighter, they said they currently don't have the resources. Which is something much different.

You know what I just realized?
I'm not sure how many of you played MUGEN, but it had this great Ring Tribute character named Ella.
If they made a Darkstalkers 4 they could totally make a Ring Tribute character. :P
