Divekick

Side note, I dislike comments like "It's fun, but not worth a cent". If it's fun, it's worth your cash. Someone spent time and money to create it in the first place.

All that being said, if you ever feel like diving and kicking, I'm game!
What makes the fact that someone paid to make this even better is that it was originally a kickstarter, and Iron Galaxy picked it up before the kickstarter ended and reached its goal, then it gave back all the backer money AND put the characters that specific backers donated enough money to get. Iron Galaxy is cool like that.

This game is about reads to the extent that footsies are about reads. This is a great random party game, but they made it with footsies in mind. Ranges are very important, jump speeds and heights are very important to distancing, this is a game that combines attacking with moving. I suggest you watch the ufgt9 top 8, and watch chrisG. You can very clearly see his game plan and where he feels safe standing. The game doesn't have blocking so there will be some volatility when your spacing isn't perfect, but it's a bo9, and if you play a bo3 set and you are getting beat by random stuff then you simply don't know how to properly distance yourself.

Footsies as a whole with each game's specific functions does not translate to divekick because it is a reduction, and it implements an entirely new idea with the fusion of movement and offense/defense. If you don't like that particular type of footsies then that's ok, but the depth is there. Whether you know it or not this game is very complex. Every character has different properties and you have to learn when you can control certain spaces against certain characters. You can tell rather quickly if someone understands fighing game fundamental based on their approach to playing this game.
