Wow 16's self-destruct is actually super viable if you pop the not-Xfactor right after so you can heal.

And yeah that transition and stage are dope.
 
If I can't get my all-women team, I can at least play 18 and Krillin and get the marriage beam! If I manage to get in the beta I'll play them with Trunks. #TeamNoDamage

Oh, I just remembered someone made Future Gohan for MUGEN. I wonder if we can get that one-armed wonder in this.

Yeah, I thought they'd be skins or have 1-2 original moves
early unlock implies that they aren't pre-order locked like I had feared too

I'm noticing a lot of SSGSS Vegeta's attacks are from the Future Trunks arc in DBS.

Like I said, he has a high chance since most fighting games have an evil version of a main character plus Black has the most memorable arc is DBS.

Also, Piccolo's reference video came out recently.
It slipped my mind that Piccolo is suppose to have four fingers instead of five.

 
imo Black should be the akuma of the game
a secret boss type with dumb requirements to fight
 
Can we use a cheat code to unlock him in later expansions?
 
I'm kinda hoping we get some Dragon Ball reps at some point.
They'd never work in Xenoverse due to how much flying is there (So I've heard), but on a grounded fighter like this, they'd work pretty aight.
Come on man, Taopaipai or Demon King Piccolo!
We can have two Akumas with Goku Black and Piccolo
 
Goku Blue also has moves from when he fought Hit in the universe 6 tourney, which makes me hope Hit gets some action in this game too.
 
Taopaipai's Dragon Rush is just him chasing you on a tree trunk.


use Taopaipai from the Z series for Gun Arm
 
Piccolo should have a move where he sacrifices a partner to make his Special Beam Cannon an instant kill
or maybe make it Goku specific, but have it work with any Goku

Goku Black suddenly has a change of heart and sacrifices himself for the greater good

Hey, that doesn't actually sound that bad. Make it usable only once per match and require to have a full health assist and could be an interesting mechanic with uses and flaws.

I brought up the "no fly" argument because I saw it in a thread about Xenoverse wanting Dragon Ball characters, someone raised the very good point that in Dragon Ball, flying wasn't really a thing until the end of the series (With Piccolo Jr), and yeah, that's a valid point.
 
you could still have stuff like Kid Goku on the nimbus and Taopaipai's log

alternatively, Mr. Satan doesn't fly, he just sprints to the next location, or jumps really high

ACKCHYUALLY

It started with Tien and Goku copying it from him.

I remember Budokai Tenkaichi really not giving a fuck. Even Arale could technically fly, but she was more floaty and wasn't allowed to stay in air and just kept losing altitude if no button was pressed. Pretty much same for all other non-flying characters, except Hercule cause he had a jetpack.
 
I want xenoverse/budokai fans to stop being huge babies about the inputs in this game.

yup.

remember after the events of Dragon Ball Z, Piccolo opens a fashion business. Makes everyone stylish.
 
I will be putting Piccollo in my main team nuff said. I think this is also the first DBZ game I'll play where Hellzone Grenade isn't a purely cinematic attack. You can't understand how much I appreciate that the opponent can react to that both because I have a personal gripe against overly cinematic moves, and that it makes it feel more like an actual fight.

In general I love how Arcsystem gets how to make a functioning game with fanservice.

i find it funny that they gave Piccolo the antenna beam and not a mouth beam he used more times

You may be joking, but doesn't he do that during the lead up to Vegeta landing on Earth at the at the start of DBZ? (He materializes Gohan's training outfit for that storyline.)

In case anyone hasn't seen it, Woolie did a full movelist video which was super-helpful.


Piccolo looks so strong. Homing Energy Blast is gonna do so much work in both neutral and advantage. I don't know how viable Ki Blasts are going to be against other characters, but you cannot press that button against Piccolo, ever. And Demon Elbow for a canned mixup, I'm guessing high-level play will see it combined with assist calls. He's got the neutral, he's got the mixups, he's got the damage. But he don't got defense. Actually, I wonder how viable Instant Transmission is as a universal reversal...

Looks like Krillin's Javelin can be deflected like a regular Ki Blast, though maybe not when it's hitting from above/below? I hope it can't just be always deflected. But between Javelins, Afterimage, Solar Flare and his special Kamehameha he looks really cool. I guess I'll have to learn the Senzu Bean assist tech.
