Chicken I have a request. it's not for art, but for art tips! Nothing huge, it's just I suck at colors. When using actual physical paint, I can do fine (add a little more this, it has too much that, that kinda thing) but when it gets to photoshop I for the life of me draw a blank. it's all hexadecimal codes and shit, I can't figure out which color to use, and when I do I can't "make" it easily. is there anything you can think of that would help me suck less, or do I just have to grit my teeth and try harder?

i'm nothing compared to chicken but/ / / are you having trouble with shading or actually coloring. it also depends on your style? like some ppl like to use bright colors and stuff. ;_; i used to suck at coloring too

If your problem is about choosing the main colours, you can take inspo from Colour lovers
or use Paletton
Or use this tutorial here
If it's for shading, as Gam said, I use cold colours for shadows and warm colours for lighting when I want a proper atmosphere.

No, the problem was with picking colors to use, not shading(I can place shadows and highlights fine, it's the actual coloring that fucks me over)

But this is an Art Thread. The rule is that an Art Thread is a place for artists to share their works. When another person comes in and posts their own art with advice the thread owner doesn't really need along with a bunch of unrelated images it defeats the point of the thread. It's like going to someone's bedroom and hanging up a bunch of motivational cat posters without permission.
