Eliza General Discussion

Can anyone give me some begginer tips for an up and coming Eliza player?

^Video of me in a match against Beowulf. Please, by all means, critique my Eliza and point out my mistakes and what I can improve on. Yes, I know I need to learn combos.

your first mistake is starting the round with sHP. while it's an ok long range attack, it's not the first thing you want to do when starting the fitght. as you see, you immediately got beat by his jHP

Speaking of which, sMP is a great counter to that--it's' upper body invincible undtil its second active frame (unlike the rest of her moves where her hurt boxes come out before the hitboxes). learning to use it as an anti air would serve you well. combo off of it with Horace

if you want to assault from the air, only use jHP when you're within range, and only a little farther out if you've still got your air dash. Ona side note, one thing i've learned i've learned is to fake out my big pokes by Air dash cancelling before the moves become vulnerable. this usually only works once they start trying to punish your air pokes and also on;y pay off if you can capitalize off of the resulting counter

as for ground pokes, cMK and cMP are better for mid range. cMP is safer to use not only naturally but its projectile makes you much safer from midrange. cMK moves you forward and does more damage

your opp didn't seem to know this which is great because he's a grappler: Sekhmet dies to grabbing. There were multiple points where you had sekhmet out for longer than you needed and you're lucky he didnt grb or snap you out of it

between rounds, get out of the corner

Tech roll out of the corner

I would say try and be in the air more often but Wulf Blitzer and jHP might keep you from doing that
