Eliza Setups and Tech Thread!


Here's a high-low setup in the corner after sliding knockdown.

In the corner, LP Sekhmet call LP LP xx recall is +7 so low or throw would be 1f resets.

Well what about throw invincible wake up moves like updo or n. pillar? and if you mistime this setup which is like only a few frames where it really works, your opponent can super right thru it. Now if this was time perfectly the super would get stuffed either from silver cord or H servant summon. so it's gud. I:I
 
Proof of concept, I'm sure there's way better setups than this.

 

This setup only works on fillia/fukua, double and bella. It also only works if they tech backwards in the corner.
 

This time using chair assist since that has more neutral game uses I think.

Setup only tested on val but has consistent timing. Reflect for delay timing, dash (call assist now but not on the same frame as the dash) dash again, kara c.mp or hk into qcb+LK+LP. As a bonus, the chair makes a reversal flatliner trade

So Throne assist is really gud for Bella not only for those quote on quote Unblockables but also for combo extenders out side of the corner

Not sure if it counts as tech, but thanks to Upper Khat having so much invincebility I found a meterless punish for Parasoul's sniper chip attempt that works anywhere on the screen:
-up close you can do lp,mp,hp dp into a combo
-anywhere else you can do lp dp whiff to avoid the hit then Hk summon into a combo
 
I'll upload video later maybe but you can do that Fukua-style cross under by whatever > s.mp > L sekhmet summon. You cross under and then turn around. Even if you're mashing the LP you still turn around.

I think that's an error but assuming mike z fixes that, you can still get summoned...wait a tiny bit, like a couple frames then attack.

After checking the cast's grounded multi-press normals, it looks like most but not all of them are like that. The ones that don't turn around on all their moves, intended or not, are as follows...

  • Big Band turns around with both LPs and cr.MP, but not s.MP trumpet notes or s.MKMK.
  • Double doesn't turn around for any LPs or s.MK.
  • Eliza turns around with all presses of s.LP, but not s.MK, cr.MP, s.HP, or s.HK.
  • Painwheel's only multi-press normal, fw.HK, doesn't turn around. Prob'ly because of being a command normal, but i put it in here anyways.
  • Parasoul doesn't turn around with any of her 4 multi-press normals.
  • Valentine turns around every multi-button press in her arsenal except for one; the third hit of s.LPLPLP. The second turns around.
Everyone else turns around for every one of their multi-press normals.

you can do dirty things with sMP in the corner:
sMP --> sHPx1 --> LP sekhmet crosses under in the corner thanks to some vacuum on sHP

The Fridge drop is the best for converting even though all of the drops will work. just be sure to do cr.mk for the rest of them instead of st. mk.

Erm, who is going to pick that assist specifically so you can convert off that super? haha

Especially when the super does poor damage when scaled and sets up beautifully for oki anyway.

It's fine. It's just a remix, but it's a remix that pretty much only appeals to players of this game, so I'd like those that hear it to know where it came from, if at all possible. Thanks for using it!
 
What are ya'll finding as good setups to get a taunt off? So far, all I have that always works is ground throw, c.hk xx taunt. If you time it right, you can still get a meaty throne, but it's pretty tight.
 
In the corner, when you do hit Sekhmet jMP --> sHP xx recall --> QCF MK xx taunt, the bounce gives you enough time to get the taunt off AND otg right after
 
could you do the same with a c.hp xx servant divekick or does that not bounce them high enough?

Shhhh, we need to involve Sekhmet or she will get angry and butcher us... but it totally works dude.
 
s.HK,HK > QCF.HK > Throw > Neutral Jump MK is a 6ish-8ish frame safejump.
s.HK,HK > QCF.HK > s.LP,LP > Neutral Jump MK is safejump, but done perfectly, lands too early by 1 frame. Is a 4-5 frame safejump when done correctly.

it's kinda obvious, but plinking the mk-lp or the lk-mp during the input for eliza's taunt calls out an assist.
Given that, what are some cool taunt setups/combos you can come up with?

Sadly I'm a filthy pad player that relies on macros for assists, so it's kinda lost on me.

Noope.

Carpenter's Axe hit first, meaning mega-mondo damage, on top of being a crossup overhead. Bomber was used to push Filia into the Axe. Depending on the timing, Bomber can hit first. You can also fake a crossup.

Midscreen, a similar setup can be used with assists, but you can't land Crossup Axe. Edit: I stand corrected. I can do it with PW cr.MP using s.MP,s.HK,HK xx Assist + Carpenter's Axe

Edit Edit: OTG s.LK,s.MP,s.HK(1) xx Call Bomber+Carpenter's Axe on Filia works. Trying to find out how to convert, though.

So if this turns out to be a true setup, then it can setup a deadly high low mixup or a powerful okizeme setup at least. I did set the AI to Burst on First Hit and To Ground Tech Forwards, but.... you know don't always trust the training mode dummy.

I wish you couldn't tech throws during stagger so that things like this would be cooler in real matches because I know no one techs throws during stagger but they will. They will one day.
