[Feb 22, 2014] The Doublesnap Open (Internet)

Thanks for the games.

Dude losing to Pikmario does not make you a bad player. He beat me like 4-0 the last time I played him.

All I know is that I've been eliminated first round in every online tournament I've ever entered. As soon as I saw who my opponent was in the first round I knew it was over already.

I probably would have given Losers Bracket a try but I had some errands I needed to get done that I was putting off for the tournament.

I had some fun, but I REALLY hope that in the future rules involving the Endless Beta are changed.

I would think that someone being unable to play a character that they have practiced for three months on would take priority over someone "not feeling comfortable" playing in the beta. Do they have anyone to blame but themselves if they haven't been following Big Band and didn't bother learning how to play against him?

If the beta was just Big Band then you would have a fair point. Last I checked however, there's been a good amount of experimental gameplay changes in the beta that can almost certainly throw someone off their rhythm so to speak. If the other person hasn't kept up or what have you, it seems unfair to place blame on them when they don't want to be in an uncomfortable position in a tournament.

Yeah, definitely give Losers Bracket a try... especially since the only Loser Bracket Round 1 that seem to actually happen were me and @Flotilla. #TooManyByesAndNoShows

GGs everybody.

I'm a bit salty that random seeding put me against Taluda so early on, but at least I can take solace in the fact that I'm the only one besides Peck to take a game off of him.

Should something like this happen again Europe's gonna take it :V

Good games, everyone! Thanks to my opponents for the hype matches and thanks to Slap and Eighty Sixed for organizing and hosting an entertaining event.

I thought some people didnt even have beta. didnt you have to donate to the IGG for it?

That was the initial plan, but it was changed eventually. Everyone who owns Skullgirls on Steam should have the beta with it, no matter how he acquired the game.

really? How long has it been that way?

OH! And how well would you say the DoubleSnap Open did? You mentioned that it may become a regular thing if it does well enough. Did it? And in the future we should probably pop a heads-up to SRK about the stream. That would probably get you a lot more viewers.

I've had access to beta ever since I pre-ordered on Steam (2 weeks before release).

I haven't talked to EightySixed yet about whether it would be worth it for them to do it again or not. Regardless, though, I'm going to do a post-morten thread today or tomorrow to talk about the things that we learned, see what people think could be improved, and whether people would want to see another one. Stay tuned :)

I just wanna say that RadioGirls was still hype.
