So the change that rolled out recently Changed fenrir to kill on the last hit and while this looks better. If you dhc to get a character they don't die. I couldn't figure out of this effect was intentional or an oversight so i thought I'd post about it. It augments things like getting setup time, possible install supers of future characters stuff like that. Not a major change but just wanted to see what the consensus was.

Gameplay-wise there isn't much to look or adapt to. Even though this sounds like a nerf, it only affects stuff that people should not be doing in the first place.

The most important thing, in my opinion, is this:
(at 12:30)

Before, if your opponent were killed before the last hits of the super, he would fly in the opposite direction. This means losing corner advantage in many cases. This will not happen anymore since those hits will never kill. In this case, this is a buff. (unless you were not in the corner but yeah)

When else do you NEED the damage from the first hits to confirm a kill? If it was a combo ender... never. It makes no difference since the super will connect in this case.

Attention is required in cases where the super does NOT connect. Where there is ONE SINGLE HIT of damage on either blocking or hyper armor covered opponents. We're talking about reversal supers here. And I believe that in any case your reversal Fenrir Drive would kill your opponent, so an H Updo would.

Regarding what you said about setup time (since there's more screen time every time this super connects, as it will never kill earlier anymore), I'll play the design card. It was intended to last the entire duration, as any other super does (or at least should). So nothing's off here.

But well... I was the guy who suggested it so what do I know. Play your arguments :)

Feels like a nerf to me because now eg a happy birthday with a low HP assist will never kill the assist
Losing corner sometimes wasn't nice, but overally not thaaaat much of a deal, while even Fenrir xx DHC vs jumpblock+lowHPassistcall was pretty scary

In the end I don't care, and I guess it looks prettier now?? So whatever

I have not tested anything with the happy birthdays but I would think it could lose you the happy birthday by having to stop since the assist character drops at the jaws. But I was thinking more along the lines of peacock. Say you dhc from fenrir to bomb, you loose a little time and i mean a very small amount to establish patterns by having to wait until the end. Not to mention screen positioning. But like I said this is very minor stuff for at least everyone that I can envision in the cast currently. It may come into play with future characters but even then IDK.

All problems with this change can be fixed by using Gregor to finish your combo instead of Fenrir. This is not a real issue because you should be waiting till the last hit of Fenrir anyway and even if you DHC to early into a super that doesn't hit you can just jab them or something and they will die.
