Fire Emblem

Having Yuri Lowenthal do an entire Direct was weird. I get he does Marth in some games but it was weeeeeeeeeird.

Hyped for the Gaiden remake and Warriors.
 
If they don't add in Waifu elements and child unit elements in the FE remake, then I'm not too sure I'll buy it.

Holy shit, I actually can't believe it. A Gaiden remake? Dude. Duuuude. And it's coming out in May (At least in Japan)? I am fucking sold, barring any extreme circumstances. What a world we live in.

Also, and maybe this is just reaching, but the fact that it's specifically Fire Emblem Echoes means that this might just be the first in a series of remakes, which would be dope as hell, and I really hope that's what it means, because then we could get fucking Jugdral remakes, which would be the shit.

I am so damn hyped for Shadows of Valentia (The fact that they didn't reveal any MU-like characters also really helps), and also for the fact that they actually brought up Radiant Dawn, which was cool.

FE Heroes also looks like it could be really cool, mostly depends on character choice I guess. Seems a lot like FF Record Keeper or Brave Exvius, which could be really cool.

Can't wait for anything that came out in this Direct, everything looks like it'll be so good.
 
Echoes looks good, the new art by Hidari is super solid. She put in good work over at Atelier.
By the sounds and looks of things, they're gonna be modernizing Gaiden's rough patches while keeping the original neat stuff, which will make it a pretty neat deviation from the norm of Fire Emblem. new stuff likes Supports will help the game out too, especially because there's no apparent MU or romance system, so it'll be like the good ol' early-mid 00s era of FE, hopefully.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if, after FE Switch, they make a Jugdral remake on there as well. It seems like the kind of thing that would really get people's attention, especially since it'd be the first time the west would be getting anything Jugdral beyond cameos

Also, interesting thing I noticed during the Direct, you take chip damage when your character blocks an attack. Was this in past FE games at all?
 
chip damage is completely new as far as I know

wonder if there's gonna be different block and dodge chances now
 
I thought fire emblem 2 had a remake on Nintendo ds
 
Gaiden is a different game from the story sequel to Marth's game.

Also chip damage seems like a good balance choice. Should ensure that you can't just send your god tier dudes out into the middle of the fray to clear shit up while everyone else chills.

Nah, the DS remakes were for FE 1 and FE 3, aka Math's games. Gaiden takes place on an entirely different continent and has barely any relation with any of Marth's games.
 
For those who haven't seen it yet, here is a bunch of art from Shadows of Valentia, some of which I don't believe we're used in the reveal. I do really like Kozaki's work in general, NMH had great art, but this might actually be my favourite character art in the series, I feel like it's a perfect blend of the old and the new art style.
 
Okay real talk, we're all gonna play the mobile game. I just want it to create all my dream teams.
 
I'd like to play it, but as with Puzzle&Dragon and Fate/Grand Order, I can't due to not having any mobile devices.

PC client when ;_;
 
Basically the only thing that can turn me off of FE Heroes is some sort of energy system to limit playtime, and it seems like that's not an issue. Also thank fuck that it's coming out on Android first, I get to play as soon as possible.

I'm not entirely sure on the technicals, but an Android emulator like Bluestacks or Memu might work, though I know that they don't work for every game, so it's a cross-your-fingers type of situation for FE Heroes.

Oh yes, definitely! I've been waiting for their mobile game for awhile and I'm not that big on mobile games. This and Skullgirls are the only ones I've really looked forward to.

Also, has anyone actually done the voting thing? I've already thrown down a couple on my battle ballot, but it's kind of annoying it's a daily thing.

My first votes wentry to Caineghis and Volke. I think it's a daily thing to give people time to drum up support for their characters.
 
As of yesterday these are the current leaders in the Fire Emblem Heroes character poll.

Most of the people I figured would be on this list, but I'm most surprised by Ephraim and Eirika being so high up and Dorcas even being listed at all. I liked those three but I was sure they'd be overshadowed by some of the others on that list.

Of course things could change now they've revealed the list so people could band together to vote in someone out of left field.
 
Dorcas being on the list is probably a combination of a heartwarming character and the meme potential he has from the original American Fire Emblem commercial.

The number one male and number one female characters are going to appear in the game wearing "special Choose your Legends outfits," and those versions of the characters will also be added to the summoning pool. For top ten males and females, they're going to release one special piece of artwork a month, starting with the first place winners in March, all the way until the tenth place in December.
