This news is actually a couple of weeks old by now, but it was never posted to the front page and may have been missed by a few.

I know everyone is excited about Fukua's recent release, but Eliza has been in very early development for a few months now alongside Big Band, who was recently completed and is awaiting simulanteous deployment on all formats. Lab Zero have been running frequent streams of Eliza's animation, but in a more exciting development, Eliza's first fully colored frame has been revealed, which you can see below.

When asked what the "sort of" meant, EU03 went on to say:
it was really more of a frame I finished on a whim for testing rather than waiting for the entire animation to be cleaned.
So take the image with some salt as it's still a little open to change. Obviously the visible line around her sprite in game will be removed before the final release too.

It's pretty clear that Eliza is going to be one of the tallest characters in the game. Just to see exactly how she stacks up against the rest of the cast I put together a quick chart.

Big Band isn't included because he's not in the Digital Art Compendium, but for reference he's slightly taller than Double.
If you're wondering what the crouching skeleton is, as mentioned in her character vote description, Eliza is actually two characters in one; Eliza the diva and Sekhmet her skeletal parasite. Sekmhet as pictured here is a cleaned up image from another animation stream, colored and sized as accurately as I could. It's interesting that Eliza is taller than everyone aside from the gigantic Double and Big Band, but Sekhmet is the shortest character in the game. How exactly the two characters will interact has not been outlined yet, but with such a large disparity in their hitboxes, fighting the pair is definitely going to be interesting.

She looks a bit shiny but I assume that will be less jarring when she is in motion. Looks great so far and I'm already hype for her inclusion in the beta, just need to buy a new controller before then.
 
I still think she's too shiny.

Shiny is fine, but it makes her sash look like it's made out of gold and not cloth.
 
She's tall because of her posture. Everyone else has bent legs or is crouching, except Double.

Let's see what this new character can do. Does anyone have an ETA on when she'll be finished?
 
So she's maybe gonna be a doll character i.e Clover in BB?
 
I don't know why, but it kinda looks a bit...dirty, for lack of a better word. At a glance, it looks like there are a bunch of leftover white pixels on her outline. Regardless, it's jarring, but I'm sure I'll get used to it by the time she's ready to be dumped into the beta.

I don't think that's even close. I'm thinking more Zelda-Shiek with changing, but possibly with some tighter stipulations.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like A.B.A's mohora (spelling?) mode, but you know what do I know (read that as, i'm not sure at all).

Yep, but in game it doesn't matter much because of her low stance, Eliza on the other hand looks like she'll have to deal with a really tall hitbox unlike Val (which is probably what people are refering to calling her tall). Who knows, maybe she'll have a different weight too.

Sorry, kinda glanced it over and was commenting itself. Just figured it was final, because I've seen stuff that looks like this IN THE RETAIL GAME ITSELF and never really figured out if it was just some issue with my PC or the game.
 
Man, the quality difference between her rough IGG mock-up and her finished art is STAGGERING.

She's so pretty.

wow she is super tall i wasnt really expecting she would be so big, also i dont think she looks too shiny at all. shes just as shiny as filia stood next to her really. whatevs.

also i dont think anybody has characters "IRL" heights memorized. Bra size on the other hand.....
 
I don't mind the shine. Kind of fits the type of character profile she emits.
 
Yeah, since she's a stage diva the shine is pretty appropriate.
 
Maybe she's shiny cause she covers herself in oil when blood isn't available.

I like the "sassiness" coming from her pose. :P I mainly choose characters I'm interested in from looks so she just got a lot better chances for getting to my team.
 
On height, posture or no, Parasoul is much more upright than Valentine, and she's 5'10. Eliza's probably either at or between their height, gonna wager at Val's.

Then again, unlike Val and Parasoul, Eliza wears heels, so she isn't literally as tall as them regardless, so what can you do?
 
We've had this discussion before when Eliza's idle frame was first revealed and as I said back then, a good comparison frame would be Valentine doing Vial Hazard since in that action she stands up right and on her toes (plus nurse cap for that extra boost).
Besides natural height, the heels, posture, ankh, headpiece and even the staff all add up to giving Eliza a grander appearance.

I think people are saying she's shiny because everyone else's skin is much fairer, so the difference between light and dark is much more obvious with her. Her skin is a lot darker, so her highlights are gonna pop out more even if the artists use a darker highlight color like yellow or orange. You can barely see Filia's highlights even if they are straight white because her skin is almost the same tone as her own highlight.

That animation still kinda looks like she's standing on her toes to me, though. I think it would be better if we used her tag out animation, since she clearly has both feet firmly on the ground.
 
she looks big, but by the comparison it looks like her hitbox will only extend to the same height as Parasoul, considering that Mike Z doesnt count Aesthetics like he did with Big Band's sax
 
Painwheel and Sekhmet lookin' like crouching buddies over here.
 
I hope she crouches low enough to not be susceptible to BB level instant overheads.
