Captain Osaka brings us the playable gang.

I love his style. So much expression with so few lines.
I'm was upset that he hasn't updated his DoubleK comic in a while (even though it's free, requires effort on his part and none on mine) but after this, I'm cool.

Don't know where else to post this so I'll post it here. Masaki Yamanaka, lead character designer for Anarchy Reigns, made fanart for Skullgirls. It's in the art gallery under guest art. I'll update this post as I find more famous entries/entries from people or companies I know lol (although I bet I'm really late to the party).
-Brianne Drouhard, character designer for Scooby Doo Mystery, Inc., storyboard for Batman: Brave and the Bold
-Gashi-gashi (Adventure Time)
-George Kamitani, artist for Dragon's Crown, Muramasa, Odin Sphere
-Jen Zee, artist for Supergiant Games (Bastion, Transistor)
-Justin Wong
-Seiichi Yoshihara, artist for French Bread (Under Night In-Birth)
-a lot of people who worked for UDON Entertainment (including Justin), Capcom, Namco, Sega, etc.

in order to make the pc gallery, you pretty much need to be someone famous, don't you?

True, but I didn't know they knew so many well-known artists

In due time :)

I already mentioned Kamitani and gashi-gashi :p
There are too many artists to list and I'm not sure if everyone else knows the rest. But I'll mention the rest when I have time

Unless they're already posted online, I can't really get it from the gallery

Shiiiiiiit!!!!!
I'm trying so hard to get my name out there. I would love to contribute to that gallery.

This was actually asked about on last Friday's stream (or something like that) Mike Z said you could contact Brady about getting your work into the Art Gallery. His email is brady@labzerogames.com
Go for it cuz I'd love to see your stuff in there!

So there is a mail for sending contributions - or at least trying to get them in? It would be nice contributing to the art gallery... but from what I have unlocked in the art gallery, the level is way too high when I compare with my current one... Damn them high standards!

But if someone else is confident enough, no one is stopping you, so go for it!

I'd like to see the T shirt designs feathered in the art gallery since we're on the topic, and I also would love to see my work on it.

Balder, I'm going to say right now that sketch could've been much worse. I've seen worse. Man, I've seen things... terrible things.

Art, as I see it, is not particularly gauged on quality or fine skills - especially not on the internet, and not against other art. We are all here to experience and contribute and share to that great, swirling mass of ability that comprises our human race. We did not survive in the wild because we cast off or discarded everyone who could not slay the wolves and bears - instead, we celebrated that they had the courage and effort to make the attempt.

That being said, here's mine:

A speed-sketch I made while trying to adjust to my new tablet.
... this looked much more impressive when it was still in-progress. As I get used to this, I'll hopefully be able to add more polished pieces in the future or move this to a separate thread.

Damn! Those are some very inspiring words. Seriously. orz
The Spartans would heavily frown upon those words but their idea of a bros night out revolved around pounding each others keisters so what the eff' do those fudge packers know?
That explains why there weren't very many well-known Spartan scholars.
PS: at the risk of kvetching, I'm a little disappointed the guest gallery is like 70% Filia, 25% group shots mostly focused on Filia and 5% everything else.
Then here. Extra lines, wobbly lines, and horrid shading everywhere - but it's possibly the only one of its kind.

For me, making Vitale's face was much, much harder than it looked. something about his jowls and mouth is just really difficult to nail.
In the meantime, enjoy as you wish. One more piece and I'll start up my own art thread. A few minutes spent making this actually presentable, and one on top of that will make me consider moving to my own corner. (Holy mother of God I didn't even get the proportions on the marionette rig correct. I'm on a roll here.)

Hmm. I don't want to go too far off-track here, but has anyone heard of the game 'Mirror's Edge'? Simply spitballing here, I've been entertaining the idea of scribbling up a crossover art piece with Ms. Fortune standing in for Faith.

I'm particularly interested in failing terribly at sketching the grapple manouvre seen in this trailer at 0:35:
Sub-par artistic abilities notwithstanding, if nobody else is interested in this, then I'm going for it.

ACCORDING TO SOMEONE ELSE (idk who, sorry) the translation is:

Valentine: "Skullheart! I wish to become the Skullgirl!"
Skullheart: "The Skullgirl has to come from a "young girl”, ya know? Ain’t you 27 years old? No can do.

I know in Double said in Parasoul's storymode that the Skullheart doesn't care about age, but I think that was pushed aside for this joke.

So, as the season shifts to winter, my thoughts turn to the december holidays of Chris-hannuka-ramadan-mas.
I probably misspelt something along the way, but is anyone here considering doing some winter-themed fanart this season? I'm sure more than half the skullgirls cast would be freezing cold if snow started falling in New Meridian - what with their lack of heat-conductive clothing and such.

Now I want a snow stage.

Rough concept I threw together in less than twenty minutes. If I get the time I'll probably go back and add linework/coloring/shading/actual ability.
Or I'll become self-conscious enough to take it back down again.

"In the frozen land of Canada, they were forced to eat Mike Z's artwork... and there was much rejoicing."
And just when I was thinking about moving on from doing fanart of her... Oh well.

There's a tonne of fun things to do in winter - make snowmen, create snowangels, have snowball fights - but you know what they say. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt - and then it's hilarious.

If this one ends up sinking, I was thinking of sketching a piece with one or more of the Skullgirls' cast doing that stupid fun 'Lick-a-metal-pole-in-winter' dare.

EDIT: New, polished version in the art thread. I'll be continuing work on it from there.

Do that but with Samson licking the pole and Filia walking away oblivious to what's happening causing Samson's tongue to be stretched out in pain.

I'll get cracking. I'll keep this one back until the actual holidays - hopefully if I increase my timeframe I'll be able to produce a better piece than my usual scribbling.
It's turning out to be harder than I thought to imagine Filia in a 'winter' outfit. Although putting an amnesiac in a winter setting reminded me of something.
Show of hands here, anyone else remember when Dreamworks was still good?
