GGPOGirls is an event that would happen pretty spontaneously in the skullgirls IRC, and then stopped being a thing for a while.
But now it's back, and it has arguably been so for years.
What are the games?
Revised rules and tournament process as of the past few weeks:
Challonge will be up ahead of time, I will do my best to get it set up at least a week in advance but there might be some occasions in which it won't happen that soon.
Everyone who signs up gets to enter one game into the wheel, this is done by telling me directly, responding in the thread, or putting the game you want to add in your name on Challonge. Every game on fightcade is acceptable within reason, including beat 'em ups like dnd and avp. However working out the win conditions for beat em ups will either be handled based on first player to x score wins, first player to use a continue loses, or some other game specific goal.
Every match will be streamed, until the player count makes it unreasonable to do so. Every match will also be 2/3 until Grand Finals which will then be 3/5.
The rest of the rules are tournament standard, don't switch characters on a win, only use legally acquired roms from an arcade cabinet, heroes don't use infinites (I won't stop you tho), don't cause physical harm to another living thing as a result of videogames.
Is it streamed?
GGPOGirls stream will start with the tournament 6:30-6:45 pm pst the stream will be at http://www.twich.tv/fizzxwizz
Are there prizes?
Nope, but I have a bunch of bad games if people want compensation for winning, I could give one to the winner.
Whats fightcade?
Its a free utility based on the now dead GGPO for playing arcade games over the internet. get it at fightcade.com
