To think ASW used to recycle walk animations by just playing the forward walk backwards. They've come a long way.

i mean more that she doesn't actually move the distance her legs would move her when walking
if you look closely she actually jerks back at the start of her walk cycle, compared to how smooth and seamless Raven's is

surprisingly poor animation quality for a game as generally artistically sound like GG
 
yeah thats great and all, but it doesn't change that big miss samurai seems pretty bullshit to my scrub eyes D:
 
Is there a full changelist for the demo yet, or is it still the same as the loketest/nobody's compiled one?
 
Xrd has given us great walking animations. My favorite is still Slayer's (I can't find his forward walk anywhere)

That pretty much sums up the Mikado players.
 
They ever confirm if the Rev 2 bundle comes with the Rev DLC characters? I'm just trying to figure out what to actually buy.

The counter coming out even with yrc isn't new, but I'm happy this is a thing people are doing now.

I've never minded the balance of Xrd too much outside of it being a bit top-heavy which is hopefully getting shrunk a little bit with Rev2.

Unless they smacked him heavily in Rev I never felt him being weak in Sign. But I think Sign generally did well with balance where no character felt utterly useless compared to others.

The middle to me is ky. I'd rate him 13 out of 25.

I think the problem with the tier list is that some characters are tough to rate. I-No and Ram bot have great options to take the match, but both are far less reliable at neutral than Ky. Are they worse than him then?

For what it's worth, I actually put Ky toward the tippy top. FAB's tier list is pretty close to my feelings on the game. And just to show any bias I might have, my mains are Bedman (first), Dizzy (I gave up), and Jack-O (new):

1.04 put her in a real nice spot.

  1. >2P proration changed from 70% to 80%
  2. >f.5S and 5H cancel window increased by 9 frames.
  3. >2H attack level increased from 2 to 4
  4. >Charge Blitz now counters until the end of recovery (?)
  5. >236S and 236H hurtbox reduced downwards
  6. >421S, 421H, 236P and all fishes Tension gain increased by 50.
  7. >Aerial Fishes reduced recovery. Landing recovery removed.
  8. >Grounded S/H/D Fishes recovery reduced.
  9. >Bubble Pop hitbox increased. Travel time increased. Recovery reduced by 1frame.
  10. >Burst Imperial Ray increased damage.

D fish will track on the y axis if triggered as well as the x axis. Increased hitbox and greater effect on hit.

I don't think Pot is bad enough to be in his own tier, even considering he has to work the hardest to win. And Jam is definitely not that low, She's high B tier, maybe even low A imo. Raven should definitely be S tier. Chipp, too. Zato and Bedman should be A tier. Dizzy is too low.

Honestly, my list doesn't change too much between the 2, with me putting Chipp lower, putting Dizzy lower, putting may a little higher, and moving around Venom and Slayer a little.

That sounds about right. I'd move Jam up too, though. I really feel like she's A tier in Rev 2. Puff puff lets her do work. She hits like a truck now.

Puff Puff is DAM-AGE, now, yeah. But she still carries around a lot of her faults from older games, and that's just part of her design. Still has to work a ton to actually get the hit, and without FB card, she has to either get a solid hit in or be super creative to get the card.
 
I was seeing Teresa use 6H to get and and get cards. Maybe his opponents were just letting him get away with nonsense and it's giving me a false sense of how strong Jam is, but we'll see how she develops. I'm just super impressed with what I'm seeing of her currently.

Input delay on the cabs in Rev are strong as hell, so people will just get hit by stuff at times.

Jam's in a good spot, don't get me wrong, I think she's better than a large part of the cast, she just still has faults.

Ah, I didn't know the cab's had more delay. Might explain why Teresa is landing CH 6H for days.

Have you been watching Japanese Bedman? He is super solid. He is just underrepresented. And yeah, Dizzy's ass. She's always been ass. She's considered ass by literally every tier list I have ever seen from a pro player. She is inconsistent. She doesn't have any "I win" conditions like most of the cast. She is ass. She unarguably got better, but whether it will be enough? I don't think so. A lot of those changes were quality of life changes that should have been in the game in the first place. For example, Dizzy lost combo routes when she cornered someone because pillars wouldn't land reliably. Needles were increased because they virtually never hit anything. Fish were buffed because you could literally mash out of Dizzy's fish oki pressure. She'll likely be solidly mid-tier at best (which is a statement to how shitty she is right now).

That tier list is 4 months old. We'll of course have to wait a while to see how Rev2 shakes things up, but I think that is a great "end of Rev1" picture. Who do you play out of curiosity? Your Bedman placement is more reflective of -Sign-. Bedman is good. Bedman is really good. He's so good he took nerfs going into Rev2 (well... berfs), and he's still looking good with oki options to rival anyone in the cast. In any case, your tier list is about the single most non-standard tier list I have ever seen.

I didn't place Bedman at all though?

I specifically left him out of my list because new Bedman is unexplored.

Man, a lot of niggas say a lot of shit.

A lot of people say Jack o is bad now, a lot of niggas say Leo's good despite everything he does without a fireball yrc on it isn't real and his buttons outside of front facing 5s, jump k, and backturn s are okay at most.

I heard people say Sin was bad now, or may "cant be anti aired".

The match was a lot of Ryan Hunter not 6P'ing that man for violating, probably because he wasn't ready for the input delay the cabs have.

As for who I play, it's Baiken, May and Jack o.

And yes. First Dizzy wasn't good enough for me to recommend to anyone. Second Dizzy was completely fine. Rev 2 Dizzy is WILD.

I implore you, if you have the chance, to play the new dizzy or vs. her.
 
I'm not talking about "a lot of people". I'm specifically talking about the people that play the game at the highest level. I was as shocked as anyone when I started hearing that Japan considered Bedman high tier. I was playing him at the time, and I was convinced he was low tier. But just a few videos showed me that it wasn't the case. Rev1 Bedman is/was great. I look forward to trying him in Rev2.

As for Dizzy, I will play definitely try her out. She's the second character I picked up, and I have always had a weak spot for her. Her biggest problem right now is that she is lacking the win condition that I mentioned earlier eg Ram gets you into a corner, I-no gets a knockdown, etc. And she isn't nearly as good as the characters that don't have a win condition (Sol and/or Ky). She lacks damage, and her neutral though solid isn't heads and shoulders above everyone else. I am fully willing to eat crow if Rev2 is the shot in the arm that she needed, but I'm just calling my shot and pointing to the fences... 6 months from now, Dizzy will be mid-tier at best.
