Hi! A quick moment to celebrate a milestone: this is my twentieth thread! Yay!

Anyways...
With my destined battle against McPeanuts (hopefully) on the horizon, I thought now would be a good time to start this thread up! I really would like to prove I'm not a scrub (don't know why...), so I want this to be an epic match. I've also been trying to give Lab Zero some advice(to no avail), so what saved SFIII? The Daigo Parry! Not going to say anything TOO extreme, but I think I AT LEAST stand a chance.

This is where I'll talk about the training process, and I hope you enjoy!
(And please don't spam me if you hate me. This is intended to be a legible thread.)

And yes, no poll OR Punhead!

Well, it's going to be a while till I settle in to my new house (it's driving me mad waiting!!!) so the bulk of my training for now is combos offline (without my fightstick, mind you) and watching videos of McPeanuts's fights. I made a breakthrough earlier today, thanks to my bro Headgamez. Hopefully I can use this little gameplay quirk to my advantage...

Waiting on a response from McPeanuts to see if it's going to be 1v1 or teams. Teams wouldn't be quite as hype, but I'd be more comfortable with that, because a Peacock mirror match (is that a fighting game term? My Yugioh past is shining through, I guess) is not only annoying to play, but honestly quite dull compared to most matches for her. I've found it's mostly a matter of who tricks who first, or who's Argus Agony will cancel the others onslaught.

My potential teammates for Peacock as of now are:
Double, who may be my strongest character
Parasoul, who I've yet to master, but have some VERY unique tricks for
Squigly, who's adorable
Big Band, who I know nothing about as of now, except that he's got some mean punches. I find it ironic that one of Peacock's biggest threats is also her most reliable backup.

I also know that I DO have the edge here. Yes, McPeanuts has fought Evo champs, but with my true identity a mystery (but NOT Keninblack!) I can research his matches without him learning MY style. I don't know HIS current stance towards me, but the majority of you think I'm going to die fast, so I hope to catch him off guard, if possible.

That about sums up this post, but it did jusy occur to me that Eliza should be out by then, adding another wildcard to the mix. Wether I'll use her is yet to be determined.

Haven't you been warned about double posting? Why would you need to post twice in your own thread?

Training diaries are fine for double posting since they work mostly as journals and other people often don't post in them at all. The two general exceptions to Double Posting are training diaries and art threads.

Now be honest with me: think I stand a chance?

Your posts have not inspired much confidence.
Lol you got me there! Well, I want to get some PR for Lab Zero, so if I win, you've got your Daigo Parry!
(IF I win, of course. i'm not underestimating McPeanuts in the slightest)

Well, I'm currently despised by Denizen, Dapurplesharpie, and possibly others, so I'd really like if I could win.
Mr. X offered to give me a download code for this steam account, though. That's one less expense I'd need to cover to be ready! (Hey, if you were me, you'd want anonymity, too!)

Currently testing combos that I can end with Goodfellows (thanks to L. Bang, of course). The problem is that it feels a little awkward... I've got time, and I'm patient, so it's OK if I have some trouble. I feel that Peacock's normals combos are pretty unimportant to my playstyle, so I mostly work on strategies to fill the screen with projectiles, reaction time on raw Argus Agonies (for the mirror match, mostly), and evasion. A wile ago I saw a match Mike Z. played where he used dash cancels to shoot of J.HP twice in one jump. I've rarely needed that, and mostly have it down, but I think more practice is needed. I also need to maximize reflexes, so I can knock the opponent away when I'm cornered. Overall, I think my Peacock SHOULD live up to what I've said.

I've nearly memorized my Double combos, now. I don't think double's that important to do mix-ups with; I just find it best to keep the opponent blocking until I can use a throw on them, and then go insane. STILL haven't learned what that one-touch kill combo was I did a while back T-T
BUT, I've nearly figured out everything else. Cilia slide's pretty valuable for combos, but if I can, I'd prefer a S.LP to start one up. I've figured out how to make every combo put my opponent in a corner, too! I'm still figuring out how to bait out an infinity blocker and not get hit, but I don't think I'll need that, so long as I can one-hit kill every time Double hit confirms. H.Luger replica's an interesting way to extend a combo, but the timing for what I use it for is INSANE! If it works, though, I can almost KO.

Parasoul's so heavy compared to most characters! Without a double jump or air dash, I have trouble moving with her. I suppose she's supposed to be a turret or juggernaut, though, so that's how she SHOULD feel. Still don't like it, though. I only use her for inferno Brigade and Napalm Pillar, so I may replace her slot.

Eliza's looking pretty good, but I'm not 100% sure how she'll work with Peacock. I'll train with her either way, because I don't know weather McPeanuts intends to use her. If he does, it'd be a problem if I didn't train. I better check if he was at the Evo Beta Eliza tourney...If not, I won't be able to tell if he's used her. Not like I'll ask, either. That would just make him think about it more. If one of us uses her, the match'd be even more hype, huh?

I don't think anyone here despises you. Some people may be annoyed by you, but I think mostly we just don't really understand you.

Remember that throws can be teched during stagger, so there is no true way to combo into goodfellas.

I got a message entitled "Hey! ***Hole!". He despises me.
Thanks for that tip! It's mostly a show off even more idea, so I never used it before. I hope I can throw it in still!
When's video of you playing?
When I move in, and get Skullgirls for this Steam account. I REALLY don't want people like D'zen to know who I am, until I beat them at Evo. If you know anyone with a spare code for SG on Steam, I still need it, because Mr. X gave his to someone else, so he told me to beg people for a code online (Well, not in those words, but you get it, right?). Honestly, the mods are great on Skullheart, aren't they? You'll never find mods as cool as these guys, I guarantee it.

I'll update my training log in a bit, this is just to answer questions.

Here's my latest updates! I'm moving in on the 1st., or possibly earlier, so I'm pretty excited! Haven't played since my last update, but here's a few thoughts:
I REALLY want to do the next WYL! I hope I'm ready in time.
Painwheel's Pinion Dash'd be interesting for fighting McPeanuts. I'm pretty confident this is his team:
Peacock, followed by two of these: Big Band, Squigly, and Double. Possibly Eliza...
So, I think I'll need assists to finish Peacock fast. If I use Pinion Dash, I not only create a delayed start threat, but if I can connect some bombs/bullets in the meantime, Pinion Dash'll send McPeanuts flying, and make his character easy picking! Of course, Painwheel is one of, if not THE lowest tier character, and has the worst Peacock matchup in the game. If I have to use HER against Peacock, I lose all advantage I'd have from using her assist.

Oh, and Double's pretty much a guarantee, with a Secret Weapon I'm thinking of including as the middle character.
That's about it for now!

Word to the wise. A good show man never reveals all his tricks. If you wanna beat Mcpeanuts don't underestimate him nor over estimate him. Don't reveal all your strategies your gonna use on him publicly. Practice those damn normals that's the craziest thing I heard. you think they don't fit you but you have to adapt in the event your plan falls through. There's more I want to say but I'm lazy

I've got a few secrets up my sleeves!

Are they actually gameplay related?
Yes, as shocking as that is! I'm also going to try out a gamepad. Louffy and Dekillsage used one, so maybe I'm missing something... That'd mean I just have to move in and re-buy SG, so I'd be ready faster!

Seriously, though, McPeanuts is an excellent Peacock player. Knowing how well he plays, I think he'll rip apart your plans like it's just tissue paper.

@Denizen D'zen!!!!!!! You're not welcome here! Not even to like something! (Well, it's ok, I guess...) Anyways...

I tried a gamepad, and it brought back memories of SFIV3D... That's not good. I need to be able to hold shadows, so I'll need to use a keyboard or fightstick. A fightstick's more precise, but I may be able to use a keyboard... I'm not sure. You guys are confusing, by the way. He'll destroy you! You're overestimating him! Free download code! Don't be cheap!

It's pretty fun, actually.

I believe in you, you can do it!
I appreciate that! Also, while you're here... Any recommendations on a good fightstick that's not $100? I was thinking I'll just get another brawlstick, but is there a better model for $50?

Annnnnd here's Bob with the news!

Bob: Breaking news! Our favorite contender, THE Skullgirlfanboy, not only bought an impressive pair of headphones for 50 cents, but also found he missed an "s" in his username! Now back to Dave with the Canopy Cup Sports League!

i dont use a stick

I'm also going to try out a gamepad. Louffy and Dekillsage used one, so maybe I'm missing something...
You're truly missing something.
Get ready for some uber professional advice :

*luffy evo 2014 winner interview*
Ken bogard : "so you are the first player who wins sf4 evo using a gamepad. Do you think using one gives you an advantage? Could it be actually more competitive to use one instead of an arcade stick?

Luffy : "yes. The really cool thing with a gamepad is the fact it is way easier to carry around!"

Ken Bogard : "..."

Luffy please

I'm not saying he's not I'm just saying in anything you'd do, don't sell yourself short but don't be cocky. Now SKFB may be a novice, but anyone who puts their time in could be effective in battle. There's one thing I hate and that's those who submit to power. SKFB, train your hardest, practice every peacock normal and push forward to victory!

Fanboy can win, his peacock is probably really good
Thanks for the support! I think my Peacock's good enough, but I'll keep training!

here's the problemo
while he trains just to make plans and decide which character compliments his Peaschlong best, Peanuts is practicing and refining his team. If Fanboy DOES somehow catch up with that sort of skill and win, I'll be impressed, but until there's proof, I am standing by my current opinion.

also @mcpeanuts you're officially #1 on my bæ list

  • Thanks P.S. you should stream more

I will try to stream soon. I am in marching band during this time of year, so I don't have as much time as usual. I'll try to stream a tiny bit tomorrow...maybe...

you guys are underestimating the power of the perfect Peacock

I ain't gonna lie. My concern is, am I really about to witness a peacock vs peacock battle where other characters may be played. Well at least it isn't Parasoul v. Parasoul

Im down to play you on PSN sometime if you want..

I'm like... one of the only Peacock/Double left kinda sorta everyone just uses fucking Brass or LNL but yeah we can play sometime.
