Peacock Cerebella Double
So, Skullgirls is not my first fighting game but may or may not be the first one i'll really try to learn (because i already spent like 50 hours playing this game and bought it when it first came out on Steam ~and i suck~) so like, i'm accepting suggestions of videos, tutorials, combos, how to beat Painwheel, books, movies and animes.

My current 'team':
Peacock (S.HP)
Cerebella (H.LnL)
Double (M.Hornet Bomber)

So, what i need to learn is:
  • Argus isn't safe on block;
  • Blocking;
  • Zoning;
  • How to use Cat Heads;
  • Resets;
  • How to combo from air grabs;
  • Other things i can't remember right now.
What i know:
  • If you DHC into Ultimate Showstopper when someone is behind you Bella will ult behind you;
  • English is hard.
  • I'm getting some of my combos from Here.

People i can learn from:
McPeanuts-senpai. Also Dekillsage played using this team, i should check his youtube channel and see if i can find some matches. Swiftfox-Dash because i don't wanna hurt his feelings.

Learn a good pattern. st.HP into 2 bomb cancels (QCF+any K, any K). Learn which patters work best against your opponents.

Spacing is important, the further away you are to your opponent, the better.

Learn when to teleport out. Either cover yourself with an assist, or bait a jump and teleport as they go over.

My problem with zoning is knowing when i have space to spam and when i need to gtfo / try to land a hit to combo, when to teleport is also a problem since sometimes i get punished trying to get out of the corner.

I also try to avoid Bang Bang Bang! because i hate that i can't jump or call assists while doing it.

[H] Bang can be a lockdown if there's other ongoing pressure with it.
So say Air George > Walking George > BANG [delay] BANG [delay] BANG [hesitate] with an assist call in there somewhere.
You don't flat-out spam it. A lot of people tend to do that, and I don't understand why.

Instead of trying to teleport out of the corner, see if they try to reset you. If you block a reset or tech a grab, whatever, [M] Bang is also very useful. Invincible frames should let you off the hook if they come back for an attack. Be careful, though, shit's really easy to punish.

How do you deal with assists like hairball and people who go all in all the time with Val/Parasoul?

Argus isn't safe on block;
Correct, however, worth noting that depending on what your opponent uses to punish your Argus with, you may be able to counter with a DHC to Cerebella. For example if you're up against another Peacock and they try to teleport after blocking the beam, you can DHC to Ultimate Showstopper (TJ used to get me with this all the time before I finally caught on).

A good rule of thumb is if they're half screen or closer it's time to back up and start doing j.HKs. Also keep in mind teleport isn't the only way out of the corner, you could try to jump over them, use Hornet Bomber to push them back, etc. Sometimes you just have to fight with your back to the corner though, trying too hard to get out can get you blown up.

Hairball doesn't have any armor or invincibility or anything. You should be able to countercall Hornet Bomber to beat it. Maybe LnL would work too although I'm honestly not sure if Hairball would break the armor on LnL before the active frames started. Also if there's a George's Day Out on the screen at all Hairball assist kind of can't do anything to you.

The DHC to Ultimate Showstopper is the most beautiful thing in this game *o*

Noted

Hairball was just an example but yeah, i need to work on my assist calls and my defense.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post by the way ^_^

If you're intent on zoning, keeping a MP Shadow Of Impending Doom charging can be a godsend. It's a nice buffer against reckless rushdown. Some players will wait it out on the other end of the screen, so you'll have to drop it before it hits Lv. 3 to minimize the cooldown time, but anybody desperate to close in risks eating a counterhit item drop into a full combo. The conversion is pretty easy if the item hits Lv. 2, though Lv. 1 confirms are still possible (but annoying).

It's always worked pretty well for me, but I rarely see other Peacocks use it (probably because they're all too scared to get up in somebody's face or let them close any ground, and standard zoning patterns stuffed with assists keep people locked out longer).

As for getting stuck in the corner, I actually never teleport out. I usually just hop up in the corner and spit out a bunch of j. HKs and air dash over them at some point. Sometimes mix in some j. MKs or assists. Most people won't punish me for it, but I'm not sure if that's because it's actually hard to punish or because everybody expects a teleport.

I think i played against you before and yeah, i'm trying to use more shadows outside of double Argus combo.
I'm with a shitty internet right now but i'll try to upload videos of gameplay as soon as i get a new one ^_^

We could play if you want, probably the best way to learn some neat things. could even do solocock matches, those are fun.

I'm hurt D:

Do you play on steam?
I'm hurt D:
What are you talking about? your name is already there, it's just in really tiny letters. I'll fix that.
It's probly not the best zoning pattern but.
This is basically what i have been using at full screen, but thanks ^^

lol yes I play on steam, feel free to add me if you like. Heck I'm even free right now.

I would but i'm getting like 300 ping against people from Brazil. It might not be the best idea to play right now, lol

...when to teleport is also a problem since sometimes i get punished trying to get out of the corner.
Only teleport when a) they're moving in a way that they can't punish it (i.e. jumping/airdashing in), or b) you can cover it with an assist.

Actually if you time it right, you can use the assist to mix them up as you come out behind.
