Seriously, I'm at a loss as solobella. Current gameplan against Nightmare version is
Stage 1: jMP, jHP, stay on top of her, reflect if touching the ground
Stage 2: sLP, sMP, sHP, Battletoads her into the corner, rinse and repeat
Stage 3: Dynamo like there's no tomorrow.

Anyone have better luck? Because fuck other people, the true competition is Touhou Skullgirl.
 
stage 1 : deflect all your soul into her face from the other side of the map, pbgc during those big skeleton charges to reflect them twice.
stage 2 : j.hp to fuck up her shadow close range reversal, lock n load hp when you don't give a shit, lvl 3 when you manage to put her into the corner to make sure she eats both hits without being able to flee
stage 3 : wait for a skull charge to deflect it to her face (patience is needed her to make sure you won't get screwed, luck is a factor too, as she tends to throw at you two or three different types of attack at the same time)

here is the best i ever did on nightmare marie, only damage i took was on guard cheap damage and armor.

for stage 2, even easier and safer : j.hp, double jump cross up, j.hp, double jump cross up, j.hp, repeat ad infinitam

if she moves (she will most of the time), lock n load, dash jump cross up and re-try j.hp

wow, interesting : if marie marie moves back during stage 3 while you reflect something, she gets hit an aweful lot of times (like 12 hits), as she goes at a similar speed than the deflect gem...just one-shot her last stage \o/

1- j.HP j.HK all the fucking time. Really, she won't even do a thing.
2- j.HP j.HK all the fucking time. Really, she won't even do a thing. (trickier to hit, but it's pretty much the same as step 1)
3- lvl 3 xx Egret Call, followed by shitloads of j.HP.

that works even against nightmare marie? kinda skeptic there

(maybe we should just move this thread to gameplay general, if we're gonna give our techs for all characters)
 
Yes, I killed her like 7 times with this.

Thought it was in Gameplay General, lol. Didn't see it was in Bella's section.

You already know I'm not allowed any other options. I am not even allowed to attack or block until I've built enough meter to punch Diamonds.

Seriously though, how do you beat Marie 300% with Squigly? I remember fighting tooth and nail only to get her down to her second form just once, and trying my hardest to run out the clock on her, but nothing worked out for me.

Iirc it was cr.hk xx hair spikes x like 5 or something... Then turtle your ass off and make sure it was on like 30 second rounds... Unfortunately mike took that time limit scam out... So. The way to beat her is to go back in time, and change the rounds to 30 seconds and use the strategy i gave.


Caiolugon has it right though... Marie hasn't been able to hit me in atleast 6 months. Dat start button is op.

A good variation on this is on 2 spam spiral flare it's safer but even tricker to land

I did j.MK (2 hits) > J.HK, this will stun her for enough time so you can do it again. Sometimes she gets a small skull out and ruins your day. Do this until she goes to form 2.
On form 2 I did cross-up j.mk > mk Divekick over and over. Don't stand in her face for too long, just keep jumping over her and "the bitchslap" will come out the wrong way. Do this until the timer runs out. And yes, 99 seconds.

What I've found pretty successful with Squigly is j.HK > M Divekick, repeat forever. Done quickly enough, Marie is perpetually stunned out of doing anything. The only issue is the phase transitions forcing you to give her some breathing room.

Closest I got with this strat was a perfect up to phase 3, at which point she got off like 600 attacks and I couldn't get back in, but I imagine with a clean phase transition it can work in phase 3 as well.

basically :
deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector, deflector...

•1st stage is easy as long as you know how to reflect consistently (gonna be useful for what is coming)

•2nd stage...the 2nd stage...
main problem is that using armor is impossible because you do so little damage she outruns you with the damage she puts into your armor, and she moves so much that j.hp is not really practical. and then, i finally thought that maybe she has recognizable patterns
EDIT: for bella, this part is the hardest for inputs and consistency requirements, but it is also the easiest because if you do it right, you can make it out WITHOUT TAKING A SINGLE PIXEL OF DAMAGE!!!
Everything is about reaction :
1) as soon as you see a shadow appear, deflect IMMEDIATELY. Doing so is really important, if it's the backway shadow, you will deflect it, if it's one of the 2 others, you will have time to recover the whiffed deflector and deflect it with the right timing.
2) For her servants, deflect as soon as you see them appear on the screen.
DO NOT RELY ON HER TALKING, only react to what you see.

•3rd stage...is easy if you can manage to pass the first 2 stages without taking much damage
you really need to watch out for what the shadows and skulls do.
if you make careful timing to deflect at precise occasions and be patient the rest of the time, you can do it
you better have around 50% of your health left, cause you'll have some times when you get grabbed or divekicked or machine gunned down right during your input...it will happen, don't worry
fortunately marie enters 3rd stage with less than 10 deflects worth of damage or so

i you want to train you deflector, go for it...
...and good luck, return only if you either beat her or get zombified /¯O_/¯

EDIT : no, don't even try. I'm serious, this is so not worth the rage.

Fourth try was the charm, this was amazing. I feel like this was only possible due to the diamond reflector change to hit multiple characters. Also, thank you Marie for having such big...

How to beat Marie with Bella/Val (I went Val/Bella, but whatever)

Stage 1 = Put Bella first. Deflect evrythang.
Stage 2 = Tag to Val. Keep doing j.HP, doing crossups all the time.
Stage 3 = Keep Val, try to go on top of Marie and spend your remaining 5 meters on scapels, or tag to Dynamo. If your Val is dead, deflect from the corner. Just spam this, there are many projectiles and you'll probably deflect something everytime.

Best way: Deal half her life in damage to stage 1 and then just avoid the skulls until she times out. :PUN:
 
a whole new world appeared to me...
after deflecting a projectile, you can guard instantly...or do anything else!
so, you can theorically deflect the two hits of every little skull, and deflect the 6 hits of the gigan skulls (even deflecting only 2 hits does so much damage to Marie!)...it's super hard, but it's do-able.
i'll see if i will get bored enough to do that reliably.

EDIT : damn it's so hard to do...but it means perfecting Marie is a theorical possibility (even without extreme luck)

ok, I now know the way to perfect her first two phases with Bella!
I said everything about the second phase in a post above this one (the longest one, you can't miss it)
for the 1st phase, here is what you do :
cerecopter dynamo (you just need a little luck to not get attacked immediately, it's a 50/50 chance, i would say),
then :
j.lk j.mp j.hk
j.lp j.mp j.hk
j.lk j.mp j.hk
j.lp j.mp j.hk
s.lk s.mp s.hp run stop
s.lp x2 s.mp s.hk cerecopter
it will just get here to second phase, you have enough time to jump back when she goes into second phase without getting hit

only way to perfect the third phase is to be sangoku on SSJ3 state, so you can deflect every single hit of every attack thrown at you (like the 6 hits of a gigan skull in a row)...possible, maybe humanly possible, but really, it's getting on my nerves, now
 
I would reach Muro's insanity level...at leeast all this made me a good at deflector...not worth it, I'm depressed now

Amazing how a couple of reflectors can put a bigger dent on Marie then all the pecking my ParaBella did...
Guess I should have given that a try before quitting. Likewise for Colossi's Parasoul strategy. -_-"

Pardon the random musing, I just happened to try Nightmare mode for the first time a few minutes ago. I no longer have the patience for fighting the AI but saw a lot of comments how it's a good practice run before facing human opponents and I needed a break from combo grinding.
Nightmare difficulty felt remarkably easy (no Filias popping up helped) but Marie was a whole different story.

Side note, Fukua's c.HK xx 236+K is quite effective against Marie's first 2 phases but I don't know if that still applies to Marie 300%.
 
Isn't Marie 300% Squigly only?
I don't have Squigly, so I can't play against her anyway.
 
Marie 300% is squigly only, but if you want a challenge even more horrible for any character/team, go for typing without using super...
About Fukua, you can destroy marie's 3rd phase just by doing two drill super in a row...I think perfecting marie may be possible with fukua!
3rd phase can be perfected with the supers, 2nd phase is easy if you time the HK drill right, and the first phase...well, maybe some luck doing c.hk drill hk could be enough...or we need to find a marie-ok combo...damn, even with my super crappy fukua, I may be able to do it!

Well, I have plenty of stuff to work on these days, combo vids, sg dumbness vids, speedrun...I have to admit I didn't try for quite some time now. I still need to find a tech for the third phase (or HUGE luck).
But for now, I'm more inclined to work on combo/dumbness vids cuz I'll be stuck with a not really good computer for the next 2 month with not that much time available on it, so I can't record with a good quality for long periods of time.
And I would really love to record my successful attempt sooo I guess my sg activity won't be stellar in the next few months :p

Wanted to go for a few tries today, my computer seemed okay with recording, 2nd try, boom...
It has been done:
I was keeping that music for the day I would make a Marie combo vid, but that day being far far away, this seems a good enough opportunity.
