Awesome job with all of this Sharpie and 6-Let! Hopefully my Squigly and Double gameplay showed people how not to play them :-) 11 of 10 definitely recommend any new players sign up to play

I'm glad that new players are finding it useful too, keep up the good work!

I just signed up for the next tourney on 6/13 at challonge. Is there anything else I need to do? I watched this past Saturday and it was interesting. I'm a newb to Skullgirls too so this seems like a good way to learn. I'm looking forward to it.

Signed up for this week's IWBTSG. Looking forward to a rematch against Drawlestia, and losing once more. And yes, I swear I'll punish the whiffed Flatliner this time.

Glad you liked last week's show!

We already have three people signed up for this week's show even without me posting the official link WHICH IS SO GODDAMN AWESOME!

Anyway, super excited to have you coming to play this week! Make sure that you revisit the tournament bracket page 15 minutes before the tournament starts to check-in otherwise you will be disqualified. I cannot stress this enough. We always have a few people that forget to do this and can't participate in the tournament that week.

Also, join the Steam Group and join the chat about 15 minutes before the stream begins so that we can address any questions you have before the tournament starts. We also ask that you make sure you entered the tournament with your stream name so we can quickly set up the game and so on and so forth.

I hope that answers your questions~! If I didn't, check out the rules here to see if your other questions were covered.

Thanks again!

I'm excited too!

Only question I have is: my name on challonge and steam are the same but there is a space on steam, like my name here, but challonge doesn't allow spaces. Does that matter? If so I can just remove the space on steam. Thanks for running these weeklies, I wish something like this existed way back when I started with street fighter, probably would have stuck with it if I hadn't been consistently bodied without any help/support. So thanks for your enthusiasm and hard work in keeping the scene alive.

Ohhhh shit. You're going to make me cry. ;w;

And spaces are 100% fine. That rule is more to make sure that we can invite people to games when we need to!

Yeah, this variety show is just what the scene needs

It's a tournament to get the players playing, and also has the vids and stuff to try and motivate newcomers to pick the game up

Props to you guys, would definitely reccomend

According to the (I'm assuming tentative) bracket you and I will be engaging in bloodsport this coming Saturday. Maybe you'll get your rematch but know this you dapper lad, I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Nobody fucks with the Jesus.

I'm just kidding, playing against me will probably be akin to playing the CPU on easy. I've played the game for a grand total of 5 hours so far, minus the couple hours I played on the xbox way back in 2012 or 2013 when it first came out. I don't know what I'm doing yet but I'm ready to learn; I really enjoy this game.

COME, LET US ENGAGE IN THE THRILL OF COMBAT! And no, I didn't win any matches, so I didn't get to Semis.

Only 2 entrants? This still gonna happen if only two people sign up?

We usually get more entrants right when the stream starts, so its really not a big deal.
Last week, before stream started, we had four people signed up and two of those people didn't even show. Lol

Don't know if i should participate, i mean, i want to, but i want to watch it too, and i'm unable to do both. :/

Which version of skullgirls is used for the tournament? PC Beta or Regular PC?

You can watch it after it ends. Twitch has "Past Broadcasts" for a reason. Go participate!

It was regular PC last time, so I don't see why this one would be any different.

Well, i'm in it. =D. I just hope i don't miss the time, xD

I've signed up. Haven't done a tourney before, should be fun!

i'm thinking the same thing, of course i going to lose the first match, but i'll be happy by not getting perfected. xD

Is europe ok? If not just remove me from the bracket.

We accept all candidates. I know there was an issue with lag last week, so if you usually play other people and lag quite often, I ask that you refrain from joining out of respect for the other players.

If anyone wants to add me on Steam to warm up before the event I'll be around. Just got off work and I'll prolly be practicing a bit.

And I have a question about lag. Is it better to just default to 0 frame input lag regardless of the ping when playing online and just deal with rollbacks or go with the suggested input delay? Anyone know?

Steam: Perry Noid

I prefer to always go with recommended, but more experienced players will always go with 0 frame delay.

btw, this looked like a lot of fun last week so I decided to throw my hat in.

Um, looking at the rules:

The winner of the match should report the results in steam chat in the following format: [Winner's Name] [Winner's Score] - [Loser's Score]. For example, if I had played 6-Let in a match and he had won two rounds and I had only won one round, I would report the match as "6-Let 2-0".

...huh?

After the match is played you just type the results in the steam chat so they can record it. It is the responsibility of the winner of the match to do so otherwise it doesn't count. I'm assuming the rule is there since they won't be watching all the matches played

So why do you choose to go with the recommended? Just wondering why the input delay should make it any easier. I've tried both and I can't tell if I deal better with lag either way, both are somewhat difficult for me to deal with. Plus I don't know if it's me screwing up my inputs or the lag a lot of the time (which may be due to my rusty chops but I dunno).

I was confused because, in the example the win/loss ration was 2-1, but it was reported as 2-0. May have just been a typo.

RE GGPO Delay, Mike Z talked about this recently. Basically, increasing the number adds lag to improve visual consistency; it's better to have smooth gameplay, so set it to zero. Maybe my perception's screwing with me, but I do seem to have fewer lag issues, and the ones I do have tend to be more favorable now that I've changed.

I see, thanks for that info. I've been sticking to 0 anyways so I guess it's good to get used to that for accuracy and consistency for online and off I suppose.

Honestly, you probably won't notice it anyway until you actually do things that require strict timing. The only noticeable difference for me is the timing for Titan Knuckle + H Bypass conversions. I try to leave it on 0 or 1 for consistency, but have no problems upping it against really laggy players (since I'm probably gonna be dropping everything anyway).

YUP. I just changed it. Thanks for catching that!

Is there an IWBTS this week?

Edit: oooooooooohhhhh that's why there's no event this week. Good luck at Xanadu!

As far as the variety segments I use, I guess I can start uploading them to YouTube.

All of McPeanut's analysis videos are available on his YouTube which is here

There is an archive of the videos of the last IWBTS?

Maybe I'll put off PS3 Bats one week to do this because my shite Internet can't handle a PS3 and a laptop being on the Internet at the same time
Maybe

EDIT: I also updated the main page, with the exception of the graphic and VODs link. I'm working on the new graphic with our updated time and new cohost @Tommer (@tommer.wine) today. As far as VODs, I'm actually considering phasing out all of the VODs with the exception of Top 8, only because of the tremendous stress its putting on me to edit each game. ALSO, we're always looking for new footage to commentate on for The Peanut Gallery! Be sure to submit any games that you want analyzed that week to IWBTS@googlegroups.com and we'll put it on the stream for that week!

Hey so I've never participated in this but it looks really fun! I just have a question though. If we want our match analyzed do we have to provide footage of a match or is it that the commentary will provide post-match analysis regarding our play during the event.

Totally signing up and I can't wait :)
