Parasoul Double Painwheel
Not really a training diary but I'm just going to make notes and points about Skullgirls and anything about it in terms of gameplay. Its not going to be negative or rant-filled or anything, just observations and ideas and stuff.

Couple Things:
-I'm going to bring up personal opinions about how good/bad a character is certain situations, if you disagree... thats fine! Don't get all up in the grill please.
-I constantly have ideas in my head about combos and setups but my execution is really mediocre so if I ever bring up something I would love yung tech lords to help do it for me and get back to me on how my idea went!

Most importantly... have a question about something regarding Skullgirls gameplay? Ask me! I'm honestly not really good anymore, and I might be remembered for the most washed up player in Skullgirls history... but yo... 2-3 years ago? I was pretty wild bruh.

Characters I can help with...

Parasoul
Double
Peacock (You're better off probably asking TJ though)
Painwheel (You're DEFINITELY better off asking Taluda or literally any other Painwheel)
Cerebella (I don't even know why I put this here fuck just ask Sage)
Fukua (Probably, I think so, I dunno better ones are out there)
Filia (I'll ask Winnie for you and get back to you!)

But yeah if you wanna know how to use like Parasoul against some character or anything like that let me know and i'll try my best to help.

I don't know how frequently I will use this.

Talking about the game is more fun for me than playing it at this point, but we'll see what happens.

No i'm not getting a fucking PC.

Reserved for when I talk about whats wrong with Parasoul as a character and why she is lacking in many fields and why sadly you can't really do anything about it no matter how much you buff her (atleastidimagineidunno). This is going to be good way to start up conversation.

If you want to talk about stuff could you discuss how other characters/common teams can deal effectively with point Parasoul + LK Bomber assist at the start of the round?

Dash/Walk back. Certain characters can do certain things.

Val Jump Back HK>Para Jump Forward LP at 99 and plenty of other chars have stuff like that.

But the first option is the most safe.

ayyy play me

Ayyyyyyyyyyyy when I move we out here!

Jumping is bad and staying on the ground is your best option. Have to be REALLY smart with your blockstrings and you can't just tear mindlessly. You have to be on your toes as much as possible and you really have to punish neutral mistakes. If you misses punishes she's going to end up with the upper hand in the end because her net damage is scarier. If you more specific things I can try to help but thats what I think about.

Why you feel so washed up bruh?

I'm always down on myself about anything and I don't think i've truly been "good" since SDE/MDE. I was never really a strong player in Encore. At least by my standards.

I'd like to hear your opinion on Eliza, too!

I haven't hit up training mode with her at all and don't plan on it, but from the few games i've played against her she just feels as gimmicky as all the other DLC characters. Her mixups don't seem super strong I guess if you know but her neutral tools and buttons are obnoxious, and once again just filled to the brim with gimmicks. Nothing wrong with that though I suppose.

Homie Point Char/LNL you're already there. #youmadeit

Teach me how to spam Napalm Pillar like the other Parasouls like you Patrick.

Work on your neutral and mixups first than that'll matter.

What should beginners be practicing in the lab, starting off?

Also, is there gonna be cake at Xanadu? I really want cake. You should make a xanadu cake.
Do it.

LOL that's just fine by me!
Ayyyy!
@keninblack thanks! Gimmicky, huh? I'll try out her compatibility with Peacock. But yeah... I bet you can all see this coming, but I goofed up the Steam download, so I've gotta wait even longer...

If you're staying on the ground, how do you deal with fukua approaching you with air buttons + fireball + assist then?

And yeah, specific things that in your experience works would just be good to throw down I guess, like you prefer to use X blockstring, or you react to fukua Y blockstring with Z thing with parasoul (besides I guess Pillar Bikes DHC).

And looking forward to see you ramble about Parasoul cause it'd be fun to see.

Do it.

-Get all your bnbs down to the point where you don't think about doing them or get nervous about doing them in tournament. Your go to combos should NEVER be a risk. If they are keep going in training mode until they don't.

-Take mental notes of what you're doing wrong in neutral, literally just jot down in your mind every time you got hit. Think about what hit you, which character, where you were on the screen, air or ground, how much meter you had, how much meter they had, time on the clock. Literally everything, and after that situation has happened and think about what YOU could do as a player to avoid that situation, or at the very least, turn that bad situation into a beneficial one. Like okay you blocked but now what are you going to do to turn the situation around.

-Try things with friends/casuals/quickmatch, experiment, its not a serious environment so don't treat it like one. Than, in a tournament setting only go for setups/combos/strings/pressure that you're comfortable with. Some people like being freeform and wild while playing in tournament though so thats up to your style.

-Treat a match like this, if you're blocking, you're losing. Try to see during game how long you can go by dictating the match, and not letting them hit you with ANYTHING. Blocking in this game is a losing situation outside of blocking an unsafe move they can't safely dhc to. So do your best to never put yourself in that situation. (Mashing like an idiot is also not a good situation either, you have to learn when to mix in reversals and blocking.)

Thats all I got off the top of my head. Also just watch videos of people a bunch if you can and take constructive criticism.

Its tough because Parasoul of course does not win the MU imo. You just have to really get a well timed J.LP. MP shot is hella useful through-out the MU.

For the most part I just think before I shoot after S.HP's, and for the most part you should always air reset this bitch because her ground mash game is hella strong.

I want to hear that second post.
maybe it will help me decide where to go with this game before I just swap someone for bella.

5 wheeled dolphins with maces for tails

vs

7 enhanced pigs with pistols, riding in a tank made entirely from bacon

who wins

I don't mean to steal the spotlight, but I think the pigs win, simply because the dolphins would need to rely on melee combat, while the pigs have a fully-functioning bacon tank, and weapons. In conclusion, the dolphins would fight bravely, but they would be overpowered by the pigs.
Thank you for your time.

Possums with swords and rocketpacks. Next question.
What has Ken done to deserve these questions?

Ah, whatever! This is great!:PUN:

Ok, time for a gameplay-related question.
How do you handle Parasoul/Peacock using Painwheel. I'm too frustrated to try to learn her! It just feels like spamming a good assist and georges+bangs/M and H Napalm Shots stops her instantly. I'm just curious if she can win anything, simply put.

How do you approach incoming mixups in this game? Reversals are strong and your opponent can just reversal super (mash, if you will), redizzy doesn't give you full combos, its hard to meaty people on incoming (is it even possible?). It seems like you only get real incoming pressure if you have an assist character.

HK MK LK Toss, Meaty J.HK/LK Bomber. If they mash at the very least it'll trade with tears but if I do it right I win clean.

Sometimes if its a char with a double jump or good air buttons I do HKHKMK toss or something like that.

Peacock/Bella I just haha homie I just fullscreen setup fuck trying ahahaaaaa.

So just jump at them at block if you don't have a DP assist? D:

Don't jump because Filia's gregor can crossup. Just get MEATY setups.

So true meaties that will put them in blockstun before they mash do exist for incoming setups? That was my initial question, should have made that more clear, sorry.

Don't forget to call a lockdown assist at the same time

Pretty sure I mean I do it with Parasoul and Dubs but I don't know about your chars :(

Kenny. Teach me Painwheel. I'll get you something if you do

I don't have a painwheel, I have a force of nature. I can't really teach painwheel in the same way that you can't really teach a volcano to destroy a small greek countryside. You just have to become a catastrophe in your own way.

tough break lux

On the topic, i'm sick of not ACTUALLY having the best Painwheel. (eventhoughIdo)

Someone hit me with the viable midscreen and corners yo.

Also i'm working on the Parasoul thing I promise <3
