Kampan is the Iron Mouse. I'm sure she can sneak even with a giant metal fist.

also she's the cutest! pgpdofnowrnwgnwpfnwfmfpdapmp. dang it why does Lab Zero have to make such good waifus. First it was Feng and now it's Kampan.

Right, or Mana Fortress! That makes me really excited to hear Kikuta's music for it.
That's pretty likely. I think these concepts they've shown before were for the Iron Kingdom:

Definitely a cool looking environment. Those staggered rooftops and elevated bridges look like they could make for some good platforming too.

Some new info from the Shacknews interview at E3 ! I kept the lore stuff here but all the information i heard is on the general topic.

    - Ajna's third eye works as a portal to her Inner Realm, characters emerge from it in battle.

    - Ajna can learn things from people inside her head and get advice and stuff like that.

    - story will shed light of why is there all those ruins around Ajna's village and they used to be.

    - There will be a subterranean Aztec-like civilization (so Tenoch's region right).

    - Victorian steampunk world is still up and probably didn't change from those concept-arts KaboomKid posted earlier.

    - In the 2nd act of the game you will be able to play any of the 3 regions you need to go in the order you want. They're self-contained and you'll get an ability in each of them.

    - Razmi will teach you how to use exploding arrows thanks to her fire abilities.

    - dark stuff will be part for the course. It is Lab Zero after all :p

Also not from this interview but an article mentions Ajna's doomed hometown's name: Ashwat

KaboomKid Sure would be nice. ...TUNA FISH!

When Peter said "3 Regions" in that video, I thought that was pretty interesting. That feeds into the theory that one of the regions might be locked off for most of the game, ala Lower Norfair or Tourian. My guess would be it's the Iron Kingdom she can't enter until later, but maybe it could be Ajna's region in the South. She might have trouble returning home because of Ravannavar's armies.

We know from the older updates that she enters Fortress Vimana at an early point though, so I wonder how that will play into her exploration later on.

I'm pretty sure Peter or Mike said before that there would be a point in the game where you could sail or something to three different regions, in any order. I don't think the number is new.

KaboomKid Sure would be nice. ...TUNA FISH!

I remember Peter talking about sailing, but I can't remember if he specified the number of accessible regions then. In any case, we definitely know there are four regions, so that still means one of them is special in some way.

He did mention there were around 9 main areas planned, but obviously we have no idea how that breaks down yet.

Or maybe it's the East region, the one based on ancient China. Since there's a wall and such.
Ooor maybe it's after leaving the South region, there might be a point of no return where you have to do the other regions and can't go back to the South for a while... I guess we'll see later!

    from this article
being emotionally synced with Ajna has something to do with being an incarnation (wait was that already established?)

That female antagonist has got me thinking the most. Judging from her appearance it's quite likely she's a Hungry Ghost/Demon of some kind, which so far have been demonstrated to be either wild, untamed beasts (Slime Hungry Ghosts) or pliable to the will of Ravannavar's Lokan flunkies (Belu, Vetala). What kind of thoughts and motivations reside within a sentient Hungry Ghost? She might be seeking to mend her ways in order to be born a Lokan again, is actually quite happy with life as a demon, or anything in between.

Her feathered, kinda bird-like appearance makes me wonder if she's a Golath, those lizard/bird-like people Alex mentionned before. Either that or yeah, a Vetala using a sentient host or one that happens to look like a bird-woman...
Really intrigued by those figures behind her too. Are those other antagonists or statues? It's hard to tell! 'w'

Also i quite like Ravannavar's design... What happened to him that he ended up looking like that though, this is some Skullgirls levels of body horror...

  13. Blessings

    Blessings Beep beep.

The new female villain might be based on the Aztec Goddess Itzpapalotl, which can mean "clawed butterfly" or "obsidian butterfly." Certainly checks out with her talons and the black butterfly swarm she has. Itzpapalotl is also depicted as a skeleton, and new villain lady has the exposed rib cage that could be a nod to this. Wikipedia (reliable source, I know) also mentions that Itzpapalotl "caked her face with white powder," and new villain lady has a deathly pale face.

If she is based of Itzapaplotl, villain lady might be like, kidnapping babies and sacrificing them to keep herself young or something, and Ajna's trying to stop her. Itzapaplotl was associated with sacrifices to replenish youth and she ruled over the realm of dead babies.

I don't know if this is a canon info thread but one of Ginseng's voice lines while being blocked is "Honey! Duck!" So Ginseng is the kid and Honey is the plant.

Is it bad that I just realized that Garuda is giving Naga a middle-finger-backhand in this image? I legit thought that was some kind of hand-mounted laser blade??????

The tone of this piece is just mystifying to me now. This seems to paint Naga and Garuda's relationship as sort of, I don't know, comical? I mean, it's a more nuanced feeling than that, i'm not sure how to say it. Like a campy action movie that's a little bit tongue-in-cheek but still played totally seriously and 100% emotional inventment.....-ey? Now that I typed it out I feel like this is just emblematic of Lab Zero's overarching writing style and that I shouldn't really be all that taken aback by seeing this. I'm thinking it's just funky to have their attitude thrown in my face through a full-color illustration like that.

well seeing how Naga Rider has that power ranger/ kamen rider influence... yeah it makes sense that his relationship with Garuda is slightly comical but also very violent and bloody.

but yes it's also indicative of Lab Zero's writing and most importantly Alex Ahad's portrayal of his characters. That they do have this slightly goofy or comically edgy side to them.

HA! Quite an observation there, friend. I don't know if Lab Zero would make it THAT obvious, but it'd still be an interesting twist nonetheless.

How about this for a thought though, and please just bear with me: imagine if it turns out that Heruka was actually the Mother of Kala. She could be the one who had lead her down the path of darkness and chaos, and maybe as a token of redemption, Heruka became reincarnated into Ajna. So she could be caught in the middle of a familial struggle she didn't even know about.

Again, just a thought; feel free to build off of that however you guys want ;)

Eh, I noticed the hands and chalked it up to them being the same class of being (as in higher-tier Devi or God being) but maybe not actually related. That'd be cheesy to say the least. Someone will have to look up the meaning of the gold-plated palms in the relevant mythology. They also have the same blue-black plating on their bodies, for what it's worth.

Also, can we just appreciate that concept art for a minute? Alex is really good at drawing himself a proper eldritch abomination! Look at the twisting fractals, the nebula and the absolutely massive glory surrounding her entire upper body. I can barely begin to fathom how anyone would even touch, let alone actually fight that thing.

Well, to be fair, they don't just share a similar palm look, but also horns? and a similar head/hair shape (if it's even Ajna on that picture). And as you said, a similar plating on their bodies...
    Hmmm

Also YEA this is a really good piece of art, makes you wonder what the hell you're looking at, and i mean it in a good way, like it's a being that's just that hard to even process.

The official website has been updated, and along this, character bios! http://indivisiblegame.com/

Some interesting stuff in here. Here are the bios for people who might have problems with the new layout of the website, problems, stuff not showing up, you name it.

    Ajna (open)

A good-natured tomboy with a rebellious streak, Ajna lived in Ashwat, a remote village in the forests of the Navar state. Her father, Indr, raised Ajna to be fair-minded and tough, and trained her in martial arts so that she might defend their home.

When her town is attacked by the army of the ruthless warlord Ravannavar, Ajna discovers a mysterious power – the ability to absorb certain individuals into her being.Determined to confront Ravannavar and find out more about her strange new abilities, Ajna sets out on a globe-spanning quest that will reveal her true nature and much more.

    Dhar (open)

The newest of Ravannavar’s Generals, Dhar was recently promoted from Commander for his outstanding service. Dhar’s duty is to purge the heretics that Ravannavar believes stand in the way of world enlightenment, a brutal task he excels at.

This bloody campaign ultimately lead him to Ashwat, where he encountered Ajna. However, during their battle Ajna’s mysterious ability awakened, and Dhar unwillingly became the first “Incarnation” she absorbed.

Trapped within Ajna’s mind, Dhar reluctantly agrees to join Ajna on her quest for justice. But does he have ulterior motives?

    Razmi (open)

A reclusive shamaness, Razmi lived in the forest surrounding Ashwat village. There she devoted every waking hour to the study of shamanic magic, more for her own interest than any practical use.

Awkward and snarky, Razmi doesn’t get along particularly well with Ajna, the other Incarnations, or people in general. Instead, she prefers to consult with Bom, the tiger spirit that lives in her lantern. As long as the lantern remains lit, Bom will be with her.

In battle, Razmi sics Bom’s fiery spirit on her enemies, and wields powerful spells and hexes. While extremely capable in combat, Razmi finds it rather bothersome and would rather be studying on her own, warmed by Bom’s light.

    Ginseng & Honey (open)

Ginseng and Honey are an inseparable duo, currently on an expedition to learn more about the plants of the world.

Raised in Tai Krung City, Ginseng’s parents operate a popular apothecary. While gathering herbs with their parents as a child, Ginseng happened upon a peculiar plant-creature, Honey, and they’ve been constant companions ever since.

Interested in herbology from a young age, Ginseng has already surpassed their parents’ knowledge of regional flora. Confident that many of nature’s gifts remain undiscovered, they depart for neighboring Ashwat to search for new and potent specimens to help them better heal the people of Tai Krung.

Ginseng and Honey team up with Ajna so they can hunt for mysterious, exciting plants all the world over. And just maybe help save it along the way.

    Zebei (open)

Zebei hails from a nomadic tribe that roamed the harsh plains of the Asura Realm. While renowned for their archery, his tribe was devastated by Ravannvar’s advancing forces. Zebei survived and found refuge in the monastery city of Lhan. Grateful for the monks’ help, he became a Protector: a warrior dedicated to protecting the sacred city.

Still adjusting to his new life, Zebei is often times shy and reserved. In battle, however, Zebei is anything but. As the Protector’s most accomplished archer, he can be a bit of a show-off, wowing people with his rapid-fire barrages of arrows and fancy flourishes.

    Tungar (open)

Tungar is the master of the urumi, a sword with a flexible, ribbon-like blade. He is hearty in both body and spirit, but years of practice and combat have left his body covered in scars. When not in use, Tungar’s custom urumi is wrapped around his head like a metallic turban.

Tungar and his late comrades served as knights to the Shayak Kingdom, the former rulers of the Ashwat region. While most of their knights were destroyed by Ravannavar, Tungar was taken prisoner to be interrogated about any remaining Shayak holdouts.

Jovial and outgoing, he is prone to sharing his sage advice and war stories with the anyone in earshot, whether they are interested or not.

Contrary to his usually garrulous nature, Tungar is brusque and deadly serious in battle. There he wields his urumi with a deadly combination of fury and efficiency, slicing his foes countless times in the blink of an eye.

The new characters added in the update don't have bios yet (and Qadira isn't here for some reason?)

Anyway some interesting stuff in here, we learn Ajna's dad's name, Indr (that sounds similar to Indra, king of the Gods, top god in hindu mythology, all that stuff).
Asura Realm also seem to be an actual, physical place, and not a spirit realm or something as such, as the name "realm" might have made me believe.

Hopefully they get the rest of the new bios up soon because I like these new lore drops. I'm really glad there's some mention of Lhan now, because I've been really curious about that place ever since we first heard about it. I'd also been wondering if the Asura Realm was maybe a new name for the Underworld, but that doesn't seem to be the case since Underworld didn't sound like a place where any normal person could or would want to live in.

Hearing about Shayak also makes me really curious about the old politics of Ajna's region. I wonder how much knowledge Ajna has about the knights and what relationship her town had with the kingdom. If it was rocky, then she might actually not have the best first-impression of Tungar.

It's rather interesting that they changed this little bit about Zebei to give him a bit more relation to Mount Sumeru. I'm actually really curious about the relationship between Lhan and Sumeru now.
