Indivisible PROTOTYPE Speedrunning & Secrets Discussion

Found it. It killed me like 50 times before I just stopped trying.

You need to be on point with blocks, for sure.

I don't know how fast it attacks, but the 2 you REALLY need to watch out for have a very reactable startup. There is one move I simply couldn't react to but I could outheal it all throughout the fight.

Also I kept forgetting to block with Ajna when Razmi was targeted >.< Those deceptive hitboxes were causing me some trouble haha

You can actually just hold all block when he starts doing big attacks and let go after he attacks. If he does fire attack, your blocking characters will stay in block mode. As long as you have half a bar, you'll block everything and be able to build enough meter to do it again. He's easy once you realize how to do this.

Did anybody try anything new regarding the boss skip? I still can't figure it out.

I didn't try it but I did some brainstorming

after you win a fight, ajnas sprite blinks for a while which doesn't happen for as long when you flee a fight, I'll assume thats like invulnerability from further encounters
so I tried getting that fat guy down into the boss room, but he would disappear mid-air
if my theory is right and you somehow get another enemy down there, you can move him close to the boss, initiate the fight, beat him and sprint past his kick-range while invulnerable
unless you're not supposed to "activate" the boss at all in which case I'm clueless

oh, and getting that belu to move is fairly simple: run into him (you don't need to hit him), 2x Razmi down and flee, repeat ad nauseum, he will keep readjusting his position and move backwards

another interesting thing I found was that you can use the neutral axe attack outside of combat to edge closer to a ledge without falling off of it, might be useful, probably isn't

Mike said that pacifist was frame perfect but skipping the boss is not. Assuming pacifist means never entering battles, even to escape from them, I think the frame perfect part either refers to skipping the big Belu or the double Belu fights. Which leaves not activating the boss at all as the only choice, I think.
The only way I can think of it being possible is if you can get to right side platforms and land far enough it doesn't activate. But that probably would require some kind of trick we were still not able to figure out.

Well there's always the OOB stuff that can get you to those platforms, but that's probably not within the rules you're using.

I don't think bossless would have a special clear message if it required out of bounds.

BTW I asked Mike if he was cool with me uploading the boss fight but he said he would rather I don't. I believe he wanted to stream it himself down the line for the campaign.

Making it private, saving it for after that. Thank you!

Just going to quickly mention that if you can all avoid doing content covering the secret boss that would be really appreciated, that way it can be streamed eventually. This means no posts on the forum detailing what the boss is or how to get to it. Being vague is fine, but please don't completely explain anything publicly.

Oh, really? Crap. I mean I mention in my video yesterday when secrets start, but a bunch of people have already spoiled it on YouTube and Twitch, so I didn't realize that was a problem.

EDIT: Took down the first video while YouTube processes a no-spoilers version of it, will restore after L0 spoils things.

Some people have spoiled it, but the point is to keep the secrets secret on the forum. Off the forum is okay (even if it is very discouraged by Lab Zero).

If anything, it would be better to keep it secret off of the forum since so many people know about it on here now. The point of mike streaming it to the public at a later point was to get those that don't frequent the forum and don't know about it to gain interest.

MikeZ said the pacifist skip is pixel perfect while the non-pacifist skip isn't.

To me this implies you can get past the boss and avoid the kick with a pixel perfect wall jump over him and there is another way to avoid the boss using normal enemies.

Is it really well-known on here apart from people who have found the secret naturally, though? It seems like people are going to lengths to prevent it from being completely spoiled. Some parts of it have been said, but I don't think it has been completely spoiled, even though some people are aware of it.
Basically we want people who haven't gotten the secret themselves to not run into it here. The less people know of the secret, the more people who will watch the stream.
I really do discourage anyone posting it outside of the forum, but that is out of our power so we can't really do anything.

Why would that be a thing?
Pacifist just means "don't kill anything" as far as I've ever seen.

I dunno, I think the fact you can actually avoid combat altogether in this game made me think that way. Also the fact you have to hit the Belu to get him there, right?
But thanks for clearing it up.

I've completely avoided getting hit with the kick but it still forced me into the fight regardless.

touching the active boss probably also triggers the fight

Well, I still have my cut down video getting processed by YouTube, so I'll have that be the public one until the spoilers out of respect.

I've managed to get pretty far with a good wall jumping and then dashing away from the shockwave. But since it reaches a bit into the passage, I don't think I can actually avoid it the way I was trying.

I can't even activate the super run by rapidly pressing forward on my 360 controller. I have to switch to keyboard, so I really would have never found it by myself. The boss was fun, though.

did you try the D Pad? I've always had trouble quick tapping the joystick. I get it nearly every time when I use the dpad controls on my ps4 remote

There are two ways to get to it, you COULD have found the second one since nothing about it requires manual dexterity

I'm still trying to figure out method 2...
I know it, if I'm correct. It involves enemies.

Somehow I think I would have tried keyboard before I figured out Method 2. I was trying another thing last night, which was falling from the above, then turning around mid-air to hit the wall. Unfortunately, losing your momentum in the air ends the super run state. :(

My first attempt at a Zen run. Could definitely be improved.

yeah I've already tried that several times. was thinking maybe skipping across the area, but not enough room to regain speed.

Yeah... I asked Mike about Clearer and Clearest Zen runs, because technically it'd be possible... If it gave you the dash ability for getting past the boss and then getting out of the pit, you'd be able to visit every secret. But then have to use Rodney to get past the boss again. So he said he wasn't going to make that a thing since he didn't see the point.

Also, after my Zen run, I noticed in NG+ you just keep whatever you had. So I only had Ajna with the Axe and one attack. Decided to do a NG+, lowest leveled completion run.

Everyone had only 2 attacks, and it was kinda close. Definitely can be optimized! (Since I didn't really intend to speed run when I redid NG+.)

I don't know what you mean by lowest level completion but I did it with Razmi 1 and it was pretty easy. I'm pretty sure the actual lowest possible level is Tungar 1, but I didn't have patience to try that enough times yet.

Yeah I figured you could do it with a lower leveled party, but this is how I managed to do it. I wasn't really planning on speedrunning it that way at the time, that's just how things worked out.

Got a good any% run

There was some pretty bad movement in some parts, but I got the skip on the two ogres in a good run so I'm happy with it for now.

Can still skip the three enemies in the tunnel before rodney to gain like 2 seconds and make it a real zen run, but for whatever reason some enemies randomly slide back when you try to jump over them (AND ITS THE MOST INFURIATING THING) and it makes those guys unjumpable most of the time. @Mike_Z can that be a thing that doesn't happen?
