Introduce Yourself!

Hello. I play on steam a lot now a days. You might have seen me this last week or not grinding matches around midnight or so. I decided to actually become an online warrior instead of only playing the only other guy at DePaul University that plays this game anyhow seriously. lol. Been learning a lot.
I play transparent pink Painwheel, Miku Fillia, and Pink Cerebella.

Hi I'm goet, I'm new to fighting games, I played like 5 hours of SF4 but I didn't really like it, however I really liked Vampire Saviour but nobody plays it so I looked for a game that had a similar feel to it. I'm a compsci student and when I'm not playing SG I usually listen to shoegaze, watch anime or play Dota 2.

Hello, I'm WrestlerGuile. I know I've already been here for months, but that's the amount of time it took for me to come up with a Grade-A introduction so Just Go with It(hated this movie).
I love Skulgirls a lot, I've been playing the game on demo for months and finally decided to buy the game. I want to be EVO ready for Skullgirls by 2015 and I'm prepared to learn and listen.
I've been getting my bearings here for some time, because this is my very first forum, and I've learned a lot of dos-and-don'ts along the way, and this website has made me feel comfortable.
I love cars a lot, and my most favorite car of all time is the Alfa Romeo 4C, because it's fuel-efficient and fast all at once(subliminal advertising at its best!)
I absolutely love to draw, my many future career choices are based around drawing but I suck at it because I'm bad at bodies, faces, and very basic at buildings.
At first, I wanted to make an animanga about a anthro coyote on the run from the law and people who mean harm to him(luckily I got the lore down), but recently when I saw Skullgirls, I wanted to make my story a fighting game with an elaborate storyline. I would like to admit my ambition to one day use the Z-Engine for my game, but I barely have an understanding in code, so I would like to learn something like this too! Before Skullgirls though, I have dabbled between whether I wanted this story to be a game or a animanga.
So that's my intro. Arigato for reading!

So um, hey everybody.
I wasn't gonna bother with this thread cause I had no idea what the community would be like but after some time here it seems really nice so here I go.
As far as fighting games go I really only played Smash Bros for a really long time. I was eventually introduced to Skullgirls by a certain flash animation but I kinda forgot about it after that. Last year I got really hyped over EVO and I wanted to get into fighting games but really didn't know how. Soon I saw TotalBiscuit's video on Skullgirls and with the emphasis that he put on how good it was as a first fighting game I instantly became interested. I picked up the PC beta from some site that was giving out keys and loved it, I think I even bought the game the day it came out. With help from the tutorial, internet and my fighting fanatic uncle (he's got a MvC 2 arcade cabinet in his apartment) I leaned the basics of the game and got a lovely ps1 Tekken 5 stick to use.
Of cores I got my ass kicked the moment I when online but now I've got a buddy to spar against so time to train for EVO 2015 (I will still get my ass kicked but hey it'll be fun).
I can't think what else to say.....

Greetings, Skullpeople. I'm entirely new to fighting games, with a few weeks of experience (read: no experience) with SF4. Skullgirls has an artstyle that drew me to it, but I'm really enjoying the entry-level gameplay so far. I can't really promise I'll be posting a lot, since I'm not really qualified to give opinions on most of the discussions, because I lack experience.

I'm currently trying to choose a team to play, but I'm not sure if my favorite characters can work together. Ms. Fortune is the only clear favorite at the moment, but I'm also interested in Peacock, Parasoul and Painwheel. I play on a pad, so Parasoul frightens me with the whole charge mechanic.

Once I get some things down in training mode, I'll probably start looking for people to play with, both on my level and someone who can hit my head against the floor until I learn to bite his hand. Sadly, where I live (Serbia), the fighting game scene is basically nonexistent, so online will be my only choice most of the time.

So far, my impression of the FGC in general is pretty damn positive, much better than that of some other communities (some FPS games, Dota, and some MMO games). So I'm looking forward to getting bodied by as many of you as possible, and taking part in forum business (although, again, not really on most threads, since I'm a massive newb and I don't know anything about fighters).

I make a difference between the terms "newb"/"noob" and "scrub", and I'm doing my best not to be the latter.

Ma buongiorno, carissimi.
I'm LoSpettro, but everyone just call me Spettro. I'm from Italy, I live near Venice and, yeah, it's so stereotype, but I love make pizza. And spaghetti, too. Better stop talking about my chef skills ...

Skullgirls is probably my 2nd favourite game on Steam (the first is Dota); I play this game since December 2013, it's not my first fighting game and my favourite characters are Ms. Fortune and Big Band. I also appreciate Peacock and Fukua, but I don't play those two very well. I'm not searching for tips, clans, teams or things like that: here in Italy, you probably don't know, pratically no one likes this game, so yeah, I'm here because I like discuss about Skullgirls.

My english, as you can see, it's not perfect (no, okay, seriously, it's damn horrible), but I can understand it very well ... Feel free to add me, if you like. See you later, in the forum.

Hello, I'm Hemijack (Hemi is fine, though <3), and although I have not been able to play the game (PC sucks, no PS3/360), it has charmed me so much. The game itself, the lore, its community, the attention to details, Mike_Z overall (sorry for all the things you and the team have gone through), but along all of those things, I like :FUK: (MvC days, baby! ~), :BIG: and :SQG: a lot.

Now, I am in the way of trying to get some money to buy it on Steam (having a work helps :PUN:), so I hope I can learn the game and have some games with you people! ~

Also, question for an admin: I want this image as my signature, but the page says it's spam-like, even though I put spoiler tags and all. If it can't be used as per the rules, I guess I could understand.

Haven't seen anyone have images in his signature, so I'd wager a guess that they aren't allowed.

Other than that, welcome aboard!

That could be acceptable, but I didn't see that in the rules :/

And thanks!

EDIT: And now I realize my thread has been merged within another thread. Sorry for creating a whole new thread!

I'm AppleJackFrost and I got this game because it looked interesting. For now I'm trying to learn how to play this game well and not lose a match in a few seconds.

Hi there. Been playing Skullgirls since the PC beta and decided to join this forum. I main Squigly and Fukua and hope to get better with them.

Hello, I'm Venom_Revolver. I've been been playing SG since it first came out on the PS3 and 360. I remember seeing Mike Z back in Blazblue's Calamity Trigger and Guilty Gear days, and followed Alex Ahad's work on DA for a long time. I adore the game, haven't clicked with a fighter this much since King of Fighters and Guilty Gear.

I mainly use :CER: and :VAL: but recently I've added :BIG: and :FUK: to my teams.

Good afternoon! This is Zyures, and even though I've had Skullgirls since the first month it came out, I'm still pretty new to fighting. I do a lot of on-and-off playing on Arcade Mode every now and then depending on my class schedules, but I still have yet to really develop my skills as before I was solo Valentine. I hope to someday get better at actually remembering combos instead of winging it all the time. xD

I was so excited to see that there was an very well run community forum for Skullgirls (gosh, this layout is so pretty)! Now, I can join in on sharing my enthusiasm! Yus!

Hello, I'm Eetrexx, brazillian player. Got in touch with the local community recently. I had Skullgirls for a while(sometime after the SDE, I guess) on the PS3, but only got to play more consistently after the PC release(some friends only played on the PC). I play fighting games since my early gaming days(Street Fighter 2 on the SNES was my first videogame ever) and have kept playing since then. However, I only got to fully understand fighting games since this year's beggining, when I made 18 and finally could understant advanced concepts in a match. I am quite shy and usually don't post very frequently on the forums, but I like to get along, and most of the time I do it in chat.

I'm trying to improve my execution, but I respond to any invitation.

Well, that introduction sucked, bad engrish included, but w/e. Who want some gaemz? :P

Welp, in one of my biggest acts of procrastination ever, I had meant to attempt being active in this forum since after evo last year but that somehow didn't end up happening.

Anyways, I'm from Mexico and usually go by Sol or [LT]Sol at fighting game events (LT as in a team of me and some friends from here, not lieutant :v). Sadly the Skullgirls scene around here is almost nonexistent as far as I know.

I was at the EVO side-tourney and the salty suite last year, so maybe someone might kinda remember me? I dunno.

I've been following this game since release, and may finally get it seeing how it is a current PS+ game.
Would've got it long ago, but had a question I should've asked on this forum (I'm asking in the "Ask Ravi" topic now).
Been playing games since Pong, FGs since SFII and as an artist/animator, am blown away by a quality 2D indie FG being being outside Japan. I'm a longtime GameFAQs forum person, former Shoryuken, and recent Free Step Dodger.

I'm Taylor, a amateur SG player, I normally use Cerabella due to her combos and fact that she is best waifu, anyway I'm 14, from England and I spend most of my time drawing anime/manga

Hello! I'm sweetappleangel on the Twitch Salty Cupcakes stream chat room but you can call me Kelsey. I'm a freelance graphic designer and illustrator and I've been a Skullgirls fan since the EVO Breast Cancer drive. I'm not really a competitive player at the game but I love the characters and universe it's set in, and I really admire the team who put this game together. When I'm not bothering Lab Zero during their streams I work on my webcomic: Drop Dead Vince.[/shameless plug]
Nice to meet cha'!

Hai. I'm EnEcSVocaloid, I'm a frequent streamer on Twitch.Tv. I mainly play Tekken but recently picked up SkullGirls and am currently trying to develop a skill set for this game. I find it very fun and hope to soon be able to master it as I have Tekken. I'm also a musician and currently enlisted in the Navy. If you're interested in playing add my PSN.
Thanks.

I'm Daffannovoodin, the anti-patriotic American, amateur fighting game player; notoriously bad at lengthy combos.I play a wide array of fighting games: DoA, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, KoF, etc.(excluding Tekken and MK, those are both bad)Like many good games, I heard about Skullgirls a half-a-year late, and everyone's better than me at the moment, 2 years experience is better than 1.As a left-handed pad-player(too poor for a stick)my thumb has a double locking joint, so have fun beating a cripple!

I win local tourneys though because fighting games aren't popular in ghetto neighborhoods(too complicated for suited-up monkeys and their simulated sports)and when I'm not gaining confidence from beating scrublords in videogames, I make art, and I'm trying to learn fruity loops, coding, voice acting etc. to become a one-man dev team, and maybe get looked over by Japanese companies.

Greetings, you may call me Seih Tsukai and i ended up here after playing SkullGirls, sadly from my own sources, for a time and getting real admiration of the game itself, not just for the fight-style game with a great improvement but more for the ambient, the music and obviously the Characters aswell and their respectives stories.
But that's another subject that i will leave for other thread in a more suitable tab of the forum. For now i just wish to add that my presence here is for see how to lend a hand, from a fan/follower to all the game development, using obviously tools just as opinions, Constructive Criticism, and may more if i can find what.
Without much to add, i Salute to all the SkullGirls developers and readers, Salutes to you from Argentina.

Hey guys my name is Justin (pretty easy to spot my real name really) I only play a few fighters like SSF4 AE, virtual fighter 5 FS, Mortal kombat 9 and Soul calibur 5 with Sc5 being my main game. New to skullgirls and been playing SSf4 AE to get into 2D fighters more often since I just wanna try out new stuff. Send me a message here or on XBL so we can play. I stay on the east coast in Florida
sorry for the late reply but have you checked out the florida SG thread here?

I'm Starlight, I'm an East Coast pad player who plays Blazblue and Skullgirls on PSN only. I also draw as a hobby on occasion. Unfortunately I find new ways to fail at all three of those things lol. I've always lurked and posted here, but never officially introduced myself, so hello.

Hi everyone. I'm Viricide Filly, I'm an 18 year old electronic musician, I'm transgender (male-female) and I've been playing Skullgirls for around like a week or so now. Gettin slowly more and more into the game each time I sit down to play it, even though I'm actually kind of god awful at it. I normally play on easy and stuff. The game interested me at first by dat animation, and dat music, and dat character design.
I joined the forums because I'm incredibly bored right now and it's 3:20 AM. Yeah.

Used to play StarCraft on days at end until my tendinitis has made the game far too uncomfortable to play competitively. Looking to return to my Blazblue roots I sadly found out the latest installment of the series (Chrono Phantasma) was not to be released on the 360, the only console I had.

To fit my competitive need I searched for hours on steam for fighters to fit my style. I ultimately came across our sweet gem: Skullgirls and I found my new sweetheart: Valentine.

Still a noob, no doubt about it. Tag team combat is very different from my days back in Blazblue four years ago. Adjusting to the new gameplay atmosphere will take time but I am thoroughly enjoying time playing and spending time with the twitch live streams.

I've wanted to be active here for a while now, but I never had anything to contribute to the discussions. So I guess I'll start here.

I don't play a lot of fighting games. I think the last one I played before Skullgirls is the first BlazBlue on PSP. Anyway, I already play this with a few of my friends, but I wouldn't mind having more people to fight. I've been playing on and off since a little after it was released on Steam. So I may not be as good as I could be, but I'm still combat ready!

Hi, Im OptimalZ(ero)16 I joined not that long ago and im an aspiring Artist who is trying hard to make dreams possible learning and gaining from friends and allies alike. Im a chill fighting game lover and lover of art and such. (Skullgirls drew me in Fast!) I Liked Skullgirls since I heard about it and got it for XBLA not too long ago. I'm an average player looking to get better.

I’m from one of the more backward parts of Socal and while I’m currently stuck with keyboard and pad, I would probably switch back and forth between hitbox and stick if given the option.

I used to play games, but I started to drift away from fighters around 04 or 05 due to an overall dwindling interest in my area and a growing trend of those I used to play with calling my stuff “weeaboo bullshit” and asking me to play more Tekken, Tekken, and Tekken. I wouldn’t say I was ever really good anything I played, but I tended to suck less then a lot of the people I played with.

I was most familiar with Akuma in 3S and Hsien-Ko in VSav. Most of the stuff I knew is still there, but my execution is horrible now. I can’t hit confirm worth a crap and I drop combos like the Salty streams drop frames. I’ll probably ad my steam id whenever I can move my router to a place I can get a wired connection if anyone’s up for beating someone for free and feeling good about themselves.

hello friends

I am BEACHEDTEASPOON and I suck at Skullgirls but play it anyway
I use Valentine and Filia because I'm clichè like that
I use Double because my sister hates her and she comes easy to me

I have the worst Painwheel you will ever see and I can't tech throws if my cat's life depended on it.
Also I am a keyboard player and I use ASDZXC for the six attack buttons and the arrows keys to move because that's how I learned and I was too lazy to change the layout or ever learn it another way (meaning I can't play the console versions!). Sometimes I have to mash to get my combos out because I have no sense of timing whatsoever.

I used to have a decent 60 or so hit combo for Valentine pre-Encore but now with the 240-limit drama system I had to change and lower it to 43 hits which sucks
I am terrible against Peacock because Valentine

I am currently obsessed with Transformers.

that is all
good day

Whats up guys? I'm a casual fighting game player, came from Brazil (NO, I'm not Hu3Hu3 BR, and I hate when the people generalize it! >:^( ). Discovered SG this Year in my best friend birthday party. We played a lot of time and I really loved the game. The easter eggs that Mike Z has put into this games and the tribute to all the 2D fighting games before SG... It's simply unique and genial... I buyd the game in the same day for steam and came to this forum about a week after that... Well, I think that's it. Nice to meet ya, folks!// :BIG: :B: (Hold) :F:+ :MK:

sorry for the late reply but have you checked out the florida SG thread here?

Heya everyone, I figured that it was probably about time that I actually say hi to a real Skullgirls community, considering I've logged 400+ hours on the PC versions of SG just lurking around Quick Match now.

Anyway, Cajun here! I use :PAI: and :FOR: generally, so yeah. Nice to meet you!

Hello there! Big time Skullgirls and One Piece fan checking in. Glad to be joining all of you!

Hello Skullpeople. I felt like I was lurking around long enough and it felt like the time to start actually posting. I play Painwheel/Squigly and I'm pretty sure I've ran into a bunch of you guys in quick play, so hello if you recognize me from there.

Skullgirls is most definitely a game. Playing it is fun.

Hiya everyone! Destiny brought me here because I am a ps3 player and it's a ghost town when it comes to Skullgirls! I am somewhat new to the game (encore at least) but a very solid player looking to have fun and learn. I host casual rooms when I play so join on in! You can also add me on PSN if you like, just make the subject Skullgirls or something.

just your ordinary salty player...hi everyone...and yeah...thats all i guess

Hello peoples! I'm Torchlighteer (in reference to my favorite Action RPG). I still consider myself a beginner at Skullgirls, despite the amount of time I've spent playing it (almost since launch!). Despite my penchant for setting myself up to be countered, and my seeming inability to block, I still enjoy playing online. Other than that, I do a fair bit of fan art, as well as writing in my spare time. Cheers!

Hey guys(and unexpected photographic genious...cause i know you're here), i'm ToonLink or Ness when i'm in a "earthbound-faggot" mode, i'm playing on pc and i'm from Italy(Berlusconi...pizza...mafia, you know).
I discovered SkullGirls and this forum when i quitted the teamfortress comp, now i'm a "casual gamer that don't know how to spam with peacock", but i'm ready to learn cause i want to get better at this awesome game!
I like Peacock, Cerebella and Valentine atm, i'm always ready for some online games with everyone and sometimes i do some stupid fanart when i'm not raging for the Valentine's combo that i want to learn, see ya in game! and remember, if someone with the photo camera want to take a foto, do the peace sign and say "fuzzy pickles!"
