Hey, I'm Ravnulfr, french player since 1997. I used to play fighting games like Tekken or Soulcalibur when I was kid but not seriously and really occasionally. With the time, I realized that many fighting games had a really bad or poor lore and were less and less good. Then I changed for RPGs or games with a good story or lore (like The American McGee's Alice games, The Elder Scrolls, Bioshock, Dark Souls, etc).
I saw Skullgirls when it was released on Steam and found that the graphics where nice but I was still disapointed by the actual fighting games, so I was skeptical about this one. Then, I forgot it until this free weekend, last june, on Steam. So I tried it and... I fell in love with Skullgirls ! This is a very challenging game (not like those where you just have to spam a button to win...) and I love that ! I bought the game last june but I play it seriously only for a few weeks. And what a rich lore for a fighting game (yes it's important for me) !
I'm not very very good (for now !), I would say I'm between beginner and intermediate, or a good beginner (this is not really objective considering that I have only a few fights online). Well, actually, I'm not really a good player at all. I just enjoy video games as I enjoy a good whiskey, taking my time !
If you want to add me on Steam, first, let's start by getting to know each other ! I'm not asocial at all, but I'm a hermit and so, I prefer to have very few friends but with whom I've built ties.

Hey, I'm pretty bad at fighters but I really enjoy them. I've played 3rd Strike, USF4, Soul Calibur 3, MK and Injustice. Currently into Smash 4 and Skullgirls.

Right now, I'm in school for graphic design and I started a club for fighting games since my area is devoid of a competitive scene and I want to get gud. I don't have a main yet in Skullgirls since I haven't played enough to get a feel for any character. Looking forward to playing with y'all if you can stand playing with a scrub until I improve.

Uhhh...other than that I like drawing, learning random things and malt.

Let's go~

Hello, everyone, I'm new to the Skullheart Forums. I am the_rpg_king. I am a user who loves RPG games and also non-RPG games. I am also a fan of Skullgirls. For those of you who friended, I'll friend you back.

I sure hope you do check out Indivisible. As a fan of RPGs, it is excellent!

Yeah, bro! I'm supporting Indivisible too! I have the prototype version, but it doesn't work. I had DX9, but I realized that it works well on Windows 8 and 10. So for the greater good, I'll be upgrading to Windows 10.

Yo, I'm missingno, Mega Missingno., Squid Missingno., or whatever other variation I've last set my Steam name to. Maybe some people might remember me from a long time ago as that insufferable Linux guy on the Steam forums, but, uh, nevermind that in fact forget I even brought it up. I grew up on Smash, but for whatever reason never bothered to look at the rest of the genre until (go ahead and laugh) the 3DS port of Super Street Fighter IV. Silly as that port was, it was the gateway drug that got me hooked, and prompted me to go emulate anything I could get my hands on. Didn't really have anything modern/online on a platform I owned to play seriously against other humans though... until now since Skullgirls on Linux is finally a thing. And I'm determined to get real serious at this!

hey,
i'm new to skullgirls abd loving it so far. it's so beautiful and appealing and has a great system to make it also feel very nice!!! I mostly played older fighting games such as the last blade (1&2) and mark of the wolfes. Now i really want to get into this one and i'm having great fun already! Only the beatings i take when i go online make ma sad and i want to improve
so i don't have to cry myself to sleep any longer. Ofc i watched tutorials and am training offline and in training-mode, but it would be really cool to train with somebody or even get some advice from those people who smack me in the face so hard when i go to the onlines :)
hope you all are having fun... see you on the battlefield!

Hello all!
Name's BlueDaruma, and I guess I can say that I'm actually new to video games in general; never quite had the time and money to spend on video games until I graduated from college and got an income, but I've been interested in fighting games ever since I learned that Phoenix Wright was in UMvC3 (for all of you Marvel players out there, yes, I know he sucks, but he's still hella fun to watch :) )

So yeah, I guess I'm a bit of a late bloomer compared to a lot of you and I'm really looking to up my game, so any help would be much appreciated. Picked up Robo-Fortune as my first character to learn literally because she seemed the most fun out of the entire cast, and she hasn't disappointed me yet. :)

Looking forward to getting to know you guys in the future!

Hiya. I'm a newbie. I've played through the normal difficulty story mode for Peacock, Filia, and Painwheel so far. I've also done some of the tutorials. I'm still using keyboard since I don't have a nice controller, but by trying to get through tutorials have already found some 3 key combinations that don't seem to work : ( I'll try to get a controller soon. I haven't tried against other people and probably would be a bit nervous to. In general I haven't had people to play fighting games against in the past. I'll try eventually though. So far I've like the 3 characters I've played around with. : ) I'm also looking forward to unlocking Double and playing with her because I really like monsters/aliens/crazy eldritch horrors and the like. I also think Sampson is really cool.

I recommend you not playing against people right now, do all the in-game tutorials, learn about the characters you like, here on the forum there are a lot of resources for new people, and also, you can play with any character in arcade or in versus, double and valentine are only locked in the story mode.

If you want any help just let us know

I'm guessing that was directed towards me. Thanks for responding, and giving advice. : ) Doing some of the tutorials might be tricky before I can get a good PC controller, but I definitely intend to come back to them. I'm guessing you'd suggest looking for 6 button controller. It may be a little difficult to find one, but I'll figure it out. I have suggestions for that it would be appreciated. In the mean time I'm enjoying playing around. Before I do story mode with a character I go into training and I try out their movement, normal moves, and special moves several times. I just finished Parasol's story on normal as well. I haven't really checked out arcade yet or tried using teams, though I'm guessing the second of those isn't necessary right away.

YOu actually don't need a specific controller, i use a regular xbox 360 controller and i'm fine.

Hey new to the forums just here to get better and meet new people.

Hi, I'm ToxicPenguin, a 14 year old British dude who spends the majority of his free time playing games and watching anime. Even though I only purchased it a week ago, Skullgirls is already my all time favourite fighting game, 2D or 3D! I also have a YT channel, but without any way to record stuff on most devices, I work with what I have. Anyway, my first fighting game was Tekken Tag Tournament on the PS2, which I still partially remember to this day (3 year old me kicked some ass!). So over the past year or so, I've gotten much more into fighting games (Smash Bros., Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc.), and my new obsession is Skullgirls. I LOVE the aesthetics, the soundtrack, the fighting, the characters, and virtually everything else about it! And it's probably the first fighting game where I am actually... not COMPLETELY worthless with combos! Yes, even though I'm generally quite good at fighting games (in 20 matches against my friend in MK9 recently, I've won 18), I am AWFUL at combos! I feel that Skullgirls having easy to remember moves is what makes me love it so much; it eases you in, while also giving you the potential for ridiculous combos! So yeah, I absolutely love SG. Favourites to play as are Ms. Fortune, Valentine and Cerebella, although Peacock, Filia and Beowulf are also great fun to play as!

Hola!
I'm Garyquote, a friendly guy that only has played 3 fighting games in his entire life. (Touhou fighting spin-offs, Super Smash Bros. and Skullgirls, aaaand yes, I suck in all of these, lol)
I don't really have anything to say about me, but I have a very low self-esteem and sometimes I get frustrated about myself. But don't worry; I would be still glad of making friends. :D
My fav characters are the sexiest man in the world: Beowulf and the cutest girl in the universe: Peacock. <33
Well, that's all I have to say. If you want to know more about me you can just add me on Steam. (it is Garyquote, it isn't that obvious?)

By any chance do you also play any Touhou fan games or just the actual games? A friend and I are in the middle of playing through Labyrinth of Touhou 2 and I'm loving it so far! If you like RPGs and dungeon crawling but haven't played I would suggest it, it was really well done! They are also in the middle of making an expansion with more characters, though they already cover quite a few. It's really well balanced too. Except for Wriggle (and maybe Cirno) every character I can use so far has been very useful somewhere, which I think is cool!

I've only played Touhou Mother/Return of Touhou Mother and a few minutes of Touhou Ace Attorney, but I haven't completed none of these yet. Also I'm planning to play Touhou Rhythm Carnival, but it seems a bit hard (like every game of this series) for me. (but probably it isn't, I did all the minigames of Rhythm Tengoku on perfect, so nothing else seems hard for me... except grazing in TH or doing combos in SG, in that case I suck)
Thanks for the recommendation. :D

Cool. I'll trt out Touhou Rhythm Carnival. I actually have a copy of Rhythm Heaven Gold in Japanese that I think I picked up in DenDen. My Japanese isn't great but I figured that much would be okay to figure out. It was mostly, but I still wasn't great at it. It was fun though, and the minigames in Rhythm Carnival look neat ^_^

Hello folks!! I'm benignInferno. I hail from western Oregon and I'm generally not too big a fan of fighters but Skullgirls has managed to captivate me.

I've been playing the Smash games since Smash 64, played a bit of Super Streets 4, now I'm stuck on Project M and Skullgirls (Smash 4 occasionally). Win or lose, I'm definitely sticking with SG and I'm pretty excited to have found this community. I'm a beginner fur sure, although I've been told my fundamentals are nice but my defense is garbage as well as my mobility.

I either solo Peacock or do a Peacock/Beowulf team and would generally prefer 1-on-1 matches as opposed to having a large group.

Hello Skullheart !

I've mainly only played Skullgirls for it's fun and laughs, but I think the game deserves some of my more serious time considering it's amazingly unique Mechanics and all of the smarter implementations it's added to the Fighting Game Genre.

I absolutely adore learning about Frame Data, Hitboxes and Startups + Cooldowns on every move on every character in games, MUs and character vs character Tech, and I'd like to learn the in and outs of Skullgirls and maybe meet some nice people along the way.

I'm quite a shy / socially anxious person ( hesitated even writing all this / staying around :s ) , but if I didn't do it today I may not have at all.
A nickname I've had along Forums is " Meri " and I hope to be of some use to this community and it's members as both a player and a friend ^^

Hey guys!

I'm Aaron and I'm pretty new to all fighting games (only have experience in Smash). I got skull girls a couple years ago but got very discouraged early on. I recently got back into it and am excited to join the forums :P! currently I don't have a gamepad and have to use my keyboard D:

I'm looking for people play with skilled at about the sleepwalk-easy skill level. Cant wait to join the community more! :D

Hey everyone,

Newbie just trying to learn with all the resource available here. Currently living in Korea. Was originally playing on PC, but sold the PC so Macbook has to do for now (ewww i know...)

Planning on getting a PS4.

FGs i am playing, MKX KOFXIII and now Skull Girls. Actually heard of this game as I was watching a tournament, some guy named SonicFox was just bodying everyone and the commentator mentioned that he played this game. Piqued my interest, wasn't really looking to play until I read somewhere online that Skull Girls is one of the better fighting games to learn fundamentals on as it kind of pays homage to them all. I found myself overwhelmed when trying Marvel VS Capcom and to be honest, while Skull Girls is accessible, I feel overwhelmed >.< Games like MKX, Tekken, DoA are a bit easier to get into at first (though I am not competitive at any of them)

Anyways, just looking to learn and hopefully level up.

Hi! I'm pretty new to SG, in the sense I'm picking it back up.

Hello, I've never really been into fighting games besides games like Smash Bros or Brawlhalla, but I instantly fell in love with SG, it's a completely different experience. I'm not that good yet, but I'm sure if I keep practicing I'll get better. :^)

Hey, my name's Rylee, but I mostly go by CherriDynamite on the Internet... I like drawing random things, and I am a big fan of Lab Zero's work. In my free time, I play Skullgirls and the Indivisible prototype (Mostly Indivisible because I'm SO HYPED for it!). Nice to meet all of you! :D

Ayyy,
The names appgamer000 but call me what you like. I've had skullgirls for about 7-8 months and the only character I'm able to use is Big Band, I mainly use him for his long range brass knuckles and giant step and a few babby tier combos here and there (and noise cancel once in a blue moon).
Any tips on how to git gud?

Yo SkullHeart.
From Canada Here, I love to step up my every Fighting game that i train and Skullgirls is the Third one! I also play Dead Or Alive 5, Guilty Gear Xrd And Super Smash bros 4!
I hope to learn more indepth meta to the game and hope some day to maybe hit a Major(Or side) of Skullgirl in Canada or near the atlantic north of united states(Boston, Newjersey...)

Call me Halo for Short and have an awesome End of the year!(2016 is the Esports year)

Long time lurker finally saying Hello. Representing NS Canada.

I'd consider myself a under average player when it comes to Skullgirls. I hope to gain more and more knowledge as I continue to play. I have about more then 100 or so hours clocked in atm and I am still continuing to learn. Skullgirls has been my favorite fighter ever since I started the grind to try and get better.

Even though my Mains will change every month or so it will all be an experience to further my knowledge in getting better in hopes I can compete with the average player who can pull off endless combos in their sleep with resets, throws, mix ups and all.

200+ hours in, time to finally register at Skullheart I guess!

I'm Kuj, dedicated Solo Squigler and Las Vegas resident (never been to EVO though). About a year ago I decided to leave the safety of offline play and start doing lobbies/QMs. I'm a gamepad scrub, with about 150 hours of furious mashing on a single 3rd-party 360 controller from Wal-Mart ( SG is 100% responsible for me wearing the rubber off the analog sticks), while an arcade stick waits for me on some distant, shining hill.

I was always the kid who sucked at Street Fighter, and stuck to things like Mortal Kombat, Eternal Champions, and King of the Monsters - seriously rocking some Johnny Cage, Slither, and Geon, respectively. I had a childhood full of off-brands, and it took SG for me to finally want to gitgud at anything.

So! I'm here to research combos and spot recognizable names from Steam. If you've ever fought/thoroughly stomped my particular Ginger Squigs, say hi! I never turn down a rematch, unless I'm out of caffeine to wash away the salt.

Nice to meet ya folks.

Heyo. My local scene is picking up Skullgirls in the forseeable future, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to learn it.

I'm a marvel 3 hitbox player that never ended up going to any large locals and slowly moving into larger scenes with the hopes of picking some things up from more experienced players. Which there should be a lot of. I'm not that great.

Nice to meet you all and hope to play some games.

This is awesome to hear!

Where's your local scene?

Just thought I'd drop my two cents in since I'm pretty new here.

Hey, I'm cXdot. Some people call me C-Dot, Dot, and even in one case, sexdot (one letter away from Robofortune I know) .

I've played Killer Instinct competitively for about a year now, but Skullgirls always caught my fancy since I caught the Super Best Friends Play video of it sometime last year, and last Thursday I was finally able to buy the game for myself. Needless to say, I'm having a blast so far learning a new FG.

Robo-Fortune is my current main as of right now but I always like to run a team of 2. Valentine, Squigly, and Filia/Fukua often find themselves in the second spot. I'll be picking up SG competitively in the coming weeks here, and technically I've already started but my KI plate is pretty full right now too with tournaments and the like so we will see what happens.

Looking forward to getting bopped in the way to greatness again.

I should introduce myself, even if I am uninteresting.

Hello, I'm Pryderi, Pry, pride.. just call me whoever you want. I bought Skullgirls along with some DLCs ontop, one of them was Big Band, who I main to this day. I never played competitive matches, but I will in the near future. My target is to enjoy the game as much as possible, but also making a name for myself with it. (Which will never happen.)

I never really played any 2-D/3-D Fighting Games, that means, that Skullgirls was my first time in terms of fighting games. I main, as stated Big Band from Day 1, but I also try to get well acquainted with other character's controls and combos.

I will hopefully play in tournaments someday and keep on practicing, becoming better and better as time goes on. Currently, I am in other people's eyes at average Skill (or luck) Level and so I promised to become sort of good up to one hell ofa player.

Cheers.

Heyo,

I'm fresh fighting games player from Lithuania. All my experience in fighting games are very little Mortal Kombat in my childhood. So basically I have no experience :D Anyway, I am looking forward learning more about fighting games. Right now I'm playing with keyboard, since I was never fan of controllers, but if I will stick with fighting games, I will buy proper controller :).

Well, maybe one day I will see any of you in online match (I ain't gonna go for online match for at least few months :D

Cya,
