Is it even possible for a man to use the Skullheart?

As far as I know, the only known users of the Skull Heart so far were Nancy Renoir (Parasoul's mom), Selene Cointiello (Squigly's mom) and Marie, who were all women. The story also says that the Skull Heart was fought over throughout the ages by armies of women across the world and and if the wielder's wish is impure, they will be transformed into the Skullgirl. Does this mean that even if male characters like Beowulf or Big Band defeated Marie and tried to make a wish, it wouldn't work? We don't even know what Beowulf is going to do with the Skullheart at the end of his Story Mode, so what can the information we already have tell us?

No.
We also don't know if the skullheart would even let trans and gays make a wish. There's also the issue of non-organic beings who identify as female.
Maybe yes, if the user wishes to be a female...????

Alex confirmed that the Skullheart accepts anyone who identify as a woman, so yes transwomen can wish.
Also lesbians can wish for sure because lesbians are women....
For the non-organic beings maybe we'll have to wait for Robo's story.

What if a woman wished men could use it as well?

I don't think the skullheart can grant every wish so you would become a skullgirl without the wish being granted

The Skullheart is a lot like Shenron.

No I think you have to collect the 7 crystal skulls to summon it. At least Shenron doesn't bring people back as an undead zombie.

I'm now imagining a new character based on the stereotypical SJW Tumblrina, accusing the Skull Heart of being a "transphobic shitlord" and telling it to check its macguffin privilege.:PUN:

I am a terrible person.

Unless we were to get information from Alex himself I doubt that we can actually confirm if the Skullheart would allow for a trans individual to wish upon it. The skullheart might not based on traditional principles of letting only women that are born female make wishes. Alternatively, the it could just based on the principle that it is a chaotic element within the world thats sole purpose, that we know of, is to screw people over and cause conflict.

How does the Skullheart identify this? Could I fool it? "Hi, yes, I totally identify as female, mhh my wish is to become king oh I mean queen of the world, thanks!"

What about the other way round? A woman that identifies as a man can't wish, I presume? Would only be fair.

What if I'm not sure myself? There are people who aren't sure of their sexuality; surely there are also people who aren't sure what gender they identify as -
Could a person with an identity crisis like that go to the SH and ask it "Hey, am I allowed to make a wish?", to get clarification?
If the Skullheart were to have some infallible detector for that, surely it could help out?!

What if a woman uses it to wish that she turns into a man? She/He can't become the SkullGIRL now?!

No you can't fool it?
The Skullheart is kinda like a God. It knows what the truth is.
Transwomen are women, so they wish.
Not sure about genderfluid people, tho

The skullheart can do whatever it wants, if IT decides you're a woman it'll grant your wish probably. the question is whether it's actually CAPABLE of granting wishes for people born not-female (maybe that has been confimed/denied? idk)

also intersex people are a thing, what is it that dictates whether you're male or female? if the skullheart's is not the same idea we have of "gender" then what would it be for them?

Ya can't fool the Skull Heart.

The Skull Heart:
- If the Skullgirl is defeated and the Skull Heart isn't wished upon or destroyed, she will regenerate eventually
- The reason men cannot wish on the Skull Heart is due to incompatibility based on the origin of the Skull Heart.
- Boys can't do much with the Skull Heart. They can look at it, punch it, yell at it, polish it, show it off as a trophy, turtle wax it.
- No one has ever been able to wish on the Skull Heart without becoming a Skullgirl. “Wishes are selfish by nature”
- The Skullheart is of alien origin, having crashed on the planet a long, LONG time ago. Alex implied that it may or may not have kickstarted evolution, but that part seemed like more of an idle musing on his part than a legitimate canon building block.

The keyword is compatibility. To echo chickenwithtie's comment, The Skull Heart may not require a body that is biologically female but it seems to need at least a mindset that is female. It is looking for a host. Something it can use for some unknown purpose. Females and those that identify as females somehow align or synchronize better to what the Skull Heart wants in a host.

I for one would absolutely love a skullheart trophy. I would love to polish it...wait how do you polish something that is on fire.

Interesting. Thanks for filling me in Chicken, BallotBoxer, and Caio.

What exactly does "incompatibility" mean? It might as well be a biological thing being worded like that, in which case trans women wouldnt be able to wish upon it.

not knowing the purpose of the skullheart also makes it kinda hard to discuss stuff like this...

For the Trans debate, I'll just lay out the idea of 'feminine souls'.
Solves the Trans issue and compatibility debate.
Yeah this works out well, I'm in full support of this soul theory.
