Apparently he never was really popular in Japan. Like, we know him from Shamen King cause we got that as opposed to most of the others.


But yeah, I'm super excited Jotaro and Dio are in. Some people are salty that JoJo's now has four characters, but it and One Piece are two of the most popular anime of all time there. They deserve it.

Better than what yugi got.
I don't think there's a single person who played jump ultimate stars that doesn't want yugi back in. Coolest character in that game by a wide margin. I need dat black luster soldier zoning action back.
Although, honestly, being a support (or otherwise already modeled) is probably the best position to be in if you want to be playable. It's an awful lot cheaper to make a character when you already have the model there, so if they're as frequently requested to be playable as Yoh or Allen they're practically a shoe-in for dlc or the next version's roster.
Yugi, on the other hand, requires they model and animate him plus about half of his most used cards. Celtic guardian, dark magician, dark magician girl, black luster soldier, dark paladin, guardian of the fortress, gaia the fierce knight, monster reborn, and Ra or Slifer for his ultimate. And that's assuming that they cut the capsule monster and the dice roll, since they don't make since in a 3d fighter and they were kind of silly looking to begin with. Maybe they could just do Dark Magician as a character? That would be easier.
 
I had a dream last night that Awakened Legends VS was the localized version of the game that cut out characters westerners don't know (Taro and Luckman) and replaced them with more popular ones that we did (Yugi and Kid Muscle).

Of course the internet hated it.

It just occurred to me that Yugi might have been left out because Konami handles the Yu-Gi-Oh games and SJ/Namco couldn't get a deal to use him in V VS from Konami being meanies about the license. BUT THAT WOULDN'T HAPPEN, KONAMI ARE SUCH NICE PEOPLE, YOU GUYS!
 
Things wrong with this game:
1.) Yugi isn't in it
2.) Don patch isn't his own character
3.) Bobobo's ultimate isn't a fusion form. I want denbo but bobopatch/patchbobo/bobopatchnosuke probably make more sense.
4.) Similar to the above, both goku and vegita are playable but I can't become vegito.
5.) Why is that weird ship healing mechanic even in the game
6.) God damn everything is in japanese how do they expect me to read all of this dialogue? I mean what were they thinking?
And that's why I give this game 4 stars.

Konami owned the yugioh license when jump ultimate stars came out. And they've ALWAYS made yugioh video games. Definitely not a problem.
They've owned the license since the early 2000's, they just didn't involve themselves in the anime or the card game for a while.
 
So, who did the Jump Stars duo, anyway?

Oh, the guys that do those 3D fighting games for One Piece. I rather liked the GC one.

No, unless you count the unfinished jotaro/dio/dai files on the disc that could theoretically become dlc.
 
Got my copy. Spent last night playing it. The gameplay is really fun and surprisingly easy to pick up. Without reading any guides in English my 12 year old sister picked it up in half an hour.

So far Akainu and Jonathan Joester (actual in-game name for some reason) are my two mains. Unlocking characters is slow, though I haven't done J-Adventure yet. I'm going to do that today.

J-adventure is definitely the way to go if you want to unlock characters.
I've only completed one of them (naruto's story) and I already have all playable characters unlocked plus a few assist only ones.
Although it kind of seems like each story is more or less the same aside from the dialogue, and considering I can't actually read the dialogue...

I actually got one of the bobobo questions right because I knew the japanese character that makes up his name from the logo, and all of them were the same character repeated over and over again like bobobo's name. Felt like a genius.
 
how good is Tsuna and Reborn? also do their Zero-Point Breakthrough absorb projectiles?

It only happens sometimes, like I'd say one in every 12. If you get it right, you get J Points to buy stuff depending on how fast you are. Cause I just guess instantly I get 420 (giggidy) or none.

From the little bit I've played him, he's good. His R1+O attack is a great counter move that uses little meter and blasts the opponent away. As for Z-P B, I have no idea what it is nor do I think anything in this game really absorbs projectiles cause guarding basically does that at the cost of meter.
 
All R1+square moves have 1 hit of armor, idk if that's what Tsuna does with that input but that should go through 1 hit projectiles.

There's a lot of moves that neglect/stop projectiles tho, like Raoh's orb of manliness, Zebra's jelly box, Aizen's Danku, Saiki's Molecular Shield, Nube's Book shield etc
You also always have the just guard option which is character dependent but most will work against all projectiles.

As for Tsuna he's high tier imo. He's really good as he has everything, he has a beam (X-burner) which is always useful, he has an auto combo special that you can do after his string which does solid damage, he can fly and can use both his O specials in the air (very rare). He also has a counter which you can hold for as long as you have meter.

The only thing that he "lacks" is a great super but his isn't bad, you can still combo into it and it does good damage.
Plus even if you think it sucks then leave the super stocks for your partner to use, Tsuna doesnt need supers to do good damage

Its pretty funny how you said you didnt know what Z-P B was but described it in the previous sentence lol,
in the series, it would charge him up and heal/give more power to him if he used it properly or turned his opponent into ice, its kinda a shame that it apparently doesnt work that way in this game because X-Burner and Mittena di Vongola Primo seem to work in the same way. also please tell me Tsuna's blocking is him using the cape of vongola primo

He's a pretty good character, although he's not nearly as fun to play as as he was in JUS.
I want my joke character tsuna back dammit. All of my mains from JUS have met some horrifying fate in the transition to this game- Don Patch became Bobobo's stand, Tsuna got serious and decided to stay in his stupid fire forehead with totally kool jacket form the whole match rather than stumbling around as a nerd, and Yugi got cut.

The secret to JQUIZ is pressing all four buttons at the same time to get it right.

Started my Let's Play of J-Adventure mode. Get hype for mispronounced names, not knowing where a character is from and making up the story as I go.
 
So do we have enough people here for some skullheart 2v2 akshun? Only seen 3 people including myself that actually own it, which would be an unfortunate number.

I play bobobo and gon. Gon is in large part a back-up for when people get annoyed with me for using bobobo.
