That person not showing up last year at UFGT was a blessing for me. Apparently the pot would've had to be split further across top 8 had there been 64 players or more. Tourney rules an all.

I can't find a schedule with times, but according to the Facebook page it's on Friday, so... at least we know which day it is? :x

Friday at 7:30 pm is what I saw during registration. It's the only place you can see the tourney times that I noticed.

Klone was dropped from the tournament after losing to Duck because the T.O. never called him and then forgot about him, so in the end it was 30. Everybody from KC got food poisoning at some point during the day and skipped the second day of the tournament to rest and eventually hang out in Chicago. We're only going back because of a change of venue and cuz we like night phyre. I'm making pancakes.


edit: I could have sworn it was 21 when we went, but I'm gonna cave to the record keepers.
 
I actually didn't get food poisoning. I did pay $40 for one slice of pizza over a bill split that made no sense though!
 
You're the one that let the dead asses eat a bunch of the over priced pizza that I'm totally jealous about with my baked chicken wings and salad.
 
Hey guys. Do to a fortuitous screwup on my registration form, I managed to get in contact with one of the TOs.

According to them we apparently have 19-20 people pre-regged for Skullgirls this year. So we have a top 16 at least!

I'll be driving up past the airport on my way to the hotel (according to my directions anyway). That said I don't know my way around Chicago and I'm not sure when I'll be in the area Thursday. When does your flight get in? I might be able to help you out.

I get to O'Hare at 5:35pm on Thursday.

Just a heads up, there's a 24/7 shuttle that'll take you to the Crowne Plaza. It runs on a 20-30 min loop, if I remember correctly.

Oh word? I wouldn't have thought there would be a shuttle, given how far away the hotel is from the airport. Good to know, thanks.

You know what? You're right. I'm thinking of the venue for Combo Breaker, which is the Crowne Plaza O'Hare, whereas this venue is the smaller Crowne Plaza Chicago... a venue that is strangely further away from Chicago than the O'Hare.

My bad.
 
google says it's still only ~20m on the road from ORD to the northbrook location so they might have a shuttle

edit: yeah it says complimentary shuttle but doesn't say where it goes
 
Yeah there are different Crown Plaza hotels in Chicago. Make sure not to get them confused, and make sure your cab driver/pizza delivery driver knows which is which. I've learned a few things going to tournaments in this nick of the woods.

@mcpeanuts Yeah. After looking at the O Hare shuttle site it doesn't appear that they go out to the Northbrook Crowne Plaza. So if you still need a ride I'll get directions to and from the hotel while I'm at it so I can pick you up when/after I get into town. Just let me know and send me a private message with contact info!

That gives me plenty of time to sleep once we get in town. How far is the venue from your place @Night Phyre ?

45-60 min depending on traffic and whether you take toll roads. I'm aiming to be there an hour before the planned start, so I'm likely leaving around 6pm.

Doesn't affect anyone here much but if any of you have friends who are at venue or watching stream that you want to get into the game, LZ has generously given me 16 codes for the game to give away (8 Steam/4 of each console) on top of one I had myself, so I'll be giving away half on stream and half in person.

If I miss top 8 I'll probably apply for this. I can avoid bad words, and multiple people have described me as not awful.

Yeah I don't go back home until Sunday so after the tournament I'm just gonna be chillin the rest of the weekend.
