I have recently developed an unhealthy obsession with Diego Brando, after fully realizing how god-tier of a husbrando he is and that he can turn into a fucking dinosaur, which is 3.57 trillion times better than any other pathetic stand ability.

I'm sorry, is it time to just post obvious facts or something?

I just know there's some tard who only has watched the anime, only likes the JoJo characters being big buff dudes, considers Hamon is the best, and considers part 3 is Araki's magnum opus and that any reference to it is superior.

Scary Monsters Diego>The World Diego.
Scary Monsters diego was more charismatic and fun; but we actually got to see him for far longer and he was in the forefront of Part VII. The World Diego showed up for maybe 15 chapters and was just cocky but hadn't technically earned it since he mostly was riding off the coat tails of SMDiego.

All that being said neither of them are as intimidating as DIO.

no I mean, there's a bigger threat when anything, even yourself, is at risk of becoming a dinosaur.

The World just feels like a step down to that power. like, I think it would have been more interesting if they could write it like Johnny has to defeat himself but the other Johnny had Star Platinum, or something like that. I dunno, I just like the idea of Araki showing how more versatile and powerful the new stands are. I mean, come on, Tusk Act 4 has a crazy strong power.

World Diego is the end of High Voltage 1, so he's in 6 issues, and I'm assuming he's in the last one because I honestly don't remember.

no he's dead in the last chapter because the final chapter is just things being wrapped up with Steven, Lucy, and Johnny.

real talk, is Steven a low-key hero in SBR? I mean, he's basically just Hayato with lotsa money.

He has the first piece of the AU eggshell that needs to be completed.

Previously Rohan, Abbacchio, and FF completed that universe's eggshell.

Maybe the real reason that universe ended is because they completed the egg only to lose it, tragically

We need to protect the new egg

If Jouta was DLC in All-Star Battle 2 can you imagine the sheer amount of memebucks he would make

I want him to be the secret final boss

well his nose looks pretty good, unlike that other part 4 Jotaro :V

I'd definitely give him a workout.

As the god damn punching bag.

Well it really comes down to two things. Can Scary Monster turn Dio/AnotherDiego into a dinosaur before they stop time and rip his head off? I think both are pretty terrifying abilities but I always tend to lean towards time stopping as being a fight ender. It's hard to come up with a counter unless you have something like 20th century boy or are also capable of stopping time yourself.

I do like how part 7 (it started in part 4 really but 7 was the big one) moved away from everyone needing punch ghosts and starting the new trend of "passive effect" stands.

I like the ones that are just weird powers in addition to being punch ghosts

shout-outs to my boy Soft & Wet, stealing shit and also hitting old ladies in the face with shovels hell yeah hell fuckin' yeah hell the fuck yeah

love that kid

It's not a punch ghost but Pearl Jam has always been my favorite stand. And from Part 7 I also got Oh, Lonesome Me, Tattoo You and Mandom. I actually think it was a bad move to make Tusk into a punch ghost and not just a cumulative upgrade to Johhny's spin.

Soft and Wet though, feels a lot better having it's bombs as well as being a punch ghost.

the ending of the Vitamin C arc couldnt have happened if Soft & Wet weren't a punch ghost to
gently annihilate Damo's head from his body

Honestly, I just love Tusk, specifically Act 4. Just the idea of being able to rip through non-physical barriers and concepts just sounds like an amazing power to haveZ

The end of Vitamin C was the most satisfying moment that I've ever read.
I mean, I agree that it's definitely up there, but that dude getting hit by a bus because he thought it was Joubin is still my favorite.

Bottom line here is that Jojolion is good and strong

Ooooh didn't know there was a Jojo topic. I really love that series!!
I do need to catch up on Jojolion, like really dfdfgjk

Also I'm finally going through the Part 4 anime in it's entirety. Got to Surface and suddenly the concept of Stand Ranges became something I needed to work out. Crazy Diamond has a D rating in range and is limited to 2 meters. Echoes act 1 has a range of 50m with a B rating. I've pulled together a list of the ratings in part IV to see if I understand the metrics for this part. (Part V seems to switch range to mean the range of the ability but that's another headache for when I revisit that series.)

A: > 50m (probably large enough to encompass an town if The Lock and Red Hot Chili Pepper are anything to go off of)
B: =< 50m
C: ~10-20m
D: ~2-3m
E: =< 1m

It is interesting to think about range because I would assume somethint like The Ratt would have a range of C or B since it's a sniper type ability with a fairly long range. But it only gets a D. Maybe it's scaled to it's users size or something.

Edit: But I think that Part IV just represents the Manifestation radius of the stand with Range. Later parts might also include range of effect in that definition.

I'm pretty sure that range always indicates the range is for manifestation radius if it has an actual body, since C-Moon has a range of B but changes gravity within 3 km. Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't have an actual form, so it says that its range is infinite.

That may be the case in IV. But stands like Metallica from Part V only exist within the body of the user (Should be a range of E) and isn't an ability stand like stuff you get in Part 7. But Metallica has an effective radius of several meters (it's listed as Range C or B) so at least for that example, The actual body isn't a factor in determining the range.

I'm gonna call it at: Jojo's plays loose and fast with its own rules so don't try too hard to work out the specific things

That's always been the case; Remember how Hamon allowed people to be mind controlled and it never happens again after the first time? It's just stuff like this feels like it's concrete but then I move to another part and suddenly all the rules changed a bit. There is an emphasis put on stand manifestation ranges most fights revolve around getting your opponent into your radius so you can hit them. Especially in parts IV, V, and VII.

I'm just trying to hammer out what does remain consistent in the rules.

Yeah i feel like Araki loves to introduce powers he never use again (ie remember when Hierophant Green could control people)

Basically Jojo can be resumed with this pic :p :
