Suggestions based what we've played
1) Grab a little bit less and go for more varied resets (high/low, low/grab, etc)
2) Convert off of filia's throw with drill to gregor
3) Keep up the good work!

Worked on hairball dash cancel combos. Got them 33% of the time still need to work out the timing for the ground aspect into gregor. Found some decent grab resets for fukua hope they work out for me online we shall see. Still having trouble with lag online -_-. Agressive filia is still a huge threat to my team (need to develop some anti agressive tactics). Worked on filias grab to drill to gregor to combo *note the timing is really tight for the otg. We shall see how some online matches go. After this training.

unfortunately fukua resets did not work as well as I would have hoped so I guess its back to the lab with that one. Able to pull of the filia throw tactic online so thats good. Got wrecked by wingzero's filia (means I need a lot of work to be competitive) val resets continue to be very useful and hard for the opponent to predict all i need to do now is incorporate more high low resets rather than grab resets. We shall see how the rest of tonight goes.

Filia shouldn't be too terribly difficult for your team when she's on point, since her neutral is god awful. For Val, you can either do jump-back j.hk or double-jump Dead Cross patterns, and airdash j.mp if you see something that you like; Filia has a bitch of a time dealing with this. Fukua should be able to zone her out fairly easily between the high-arc air fireball, M shadow, and j.hk.

Ill have to put that into practice ive got to beef up my offensive play some more cause I'm playing way to defensively

Worked on my standard filia combo (once again needs work) found that it is easier to ADC with double tap forward rather than two punches weird 0_o. Still trying to convert off the grab to super thing note(OTG timing is wicked strict). More resets developed for val. and fukua. Also discovered the punishing capabilities of scalpels! Any ways more lab work is required for filia.....No surprises there.... We shall see what the weekend brings in terms of quality training time

worked with Silent Dolphin this morning and discovered the power of push blocking 0_0 (yes how scrubby of me to finally notice...) Gotta remember that this game has the same air block mechanics as alpha 3 minus the air recovery and push block (gotta neutral jump in more..be like ken josh be like ken). Learned the importance of assist protection (use hadouken to protect team). And tried to analyze some parasol resets and cross-ups (Still have no idea whats going on with those 0_o) And in typical ken fashion throw out dem DP to super (SHINYUKEN!!!!!!) Gotta hit the lab to put those finishing touches on the basic filia combos and then get all the bitches......

also hp combos after super so no more otg!!!!

Felling a lot more confident in my team. Every one flows a little more now. I know when to throw out crosses and hadoukens I know when and where to call out fukua and filia for pressure or punishing purposes and most importantly I know when to use supers to punish (scalpales shinku-hadouken and shinyuken). Also want to give a shout out to everyone that has helped me get to this point.

discovered the god like potential of fukua mix ups with filia assist to back her up. Why does no one else play this team? Did I find the clockwork team of this game 0_0 but any ways enough of that. Can not figure out how to deal with peacock teamed up with BB (Knighting that the new team scrub). Peacock does that hole thing into bomb drop which crosses me up and then jumps in with BB brass knuckle assist what do you do??? Also finally realized that my team should not be played on the defense. Fukua and Val excel at there offensive potential and by the time I get to filia the match is either in my favor or my opponent so I only have to hit them with one or two mix ups. Only problem teams are the ones that play super offensive and overwhelm my offense with a greater baiting strategy (assuming that Ill get better at predicting these set ups the more I play)

Best defense against a zoning peacock Hk bypass just above peacocks hat it goes above the george box car and george bomb and if you time it right it goes above the bullets and cannon but you have to do this before a shadow thing and the air show. Also i think you can cancel the bypass to EKG if your fast enough (have yet to try it)

Cancel the air bypass to Scalpels, not Flatliner. Air Scalpels are safe on block, and on hit lead to a full combo.

do you have to do the QCB or QCF for it to work?

QCF. It generally auto-corrects, even if you cross over them by a little bit.

Ok thanks a lot Cynical for the advice. Ill check it out when I get a chance on a peacock

So I was experimenting with openers for my team and found that vals s HK 3 hits even on block can be canceled into light bypass and only ends up being -4 on block. I think thats a pretty good gamble if your opponent doesnt expect you to throw out a move at the very start of the match.

also found a new anti air vial load set up. Using s. hp karad into vial load along with updo assist allows for enough time to load up a vial I believe

With your team, you can do something better; HK~MPxx236lp will give you s.HK with an assist call plinked into it. Do that with Drillationship, and it's + on block and on hit, you can easily confirm, dash forward, and convert into a full combo with s.lp.

Just found that Hk (2) into shuriken along with drill assist is + on block

got merked in skullbat definitly need more practice. Also worked with zero and learned some tech for filia. Thanks again dude

So I'm going to ask a serious question to all you guys (prepare for the scrubbiest question ever). What do I do to make myself better? I've been throwing time into training room stuff, online matches, critique matches, and most of all lobby play. What am I missing? I have the fundamentals from a year and a half of straight street fighter and psychological based game play. I'm not seeing where I need to focus I've tried working on my resets I've worked on my combos and most of all I've worked on my gameplay style. I just feel like I've hit a wall that I cant bash my head through no matter how hard I try.

Maybe you should work on defense?

Also, Bypass L can be punished if you chain into it too long and they pushblock it.

Everyone goes through a plateau. (Here was my thread on it with some good suggestions). But as IsaVulpes once posted (and I'm not linking him because I keep doing this every time someone asks but he's the one who showed me first)

Keep playing.

I'm just basing this off of exercise philosophy but usually when a wall is hit there's a fundamental reason for it and I cant seem to find it yet. I don't know if its my style or if its just my mentality but I cant seem to get to the next level off my fundamentals. And thanks for the advice guys :) I'll try my best

Simple. learn to stop falling back on your beloved Dp assist. and actually work on your neutral+defense.
Why?

now in our matches i've proven to always tag your assist and in worse cases i've double snapped them and then you didn't really have anything to use and you sorta crumbled as your DP assist went away.

Then I guess there's only one way to get better..... Time to go solo for a while

I recommend this wholeheartedly. You get to learn what your normals do and depend on spacing, neutral and good habits rather than "WHEN'S DP ASSIST CONFIRM?"

I played a few matches and just out of habit I was pressing macro 2 -_- "when's shoryuken"

worked on soloing my team and it went decently well. I dont know all the start up times for vals normals so I could not make any reads on counter hits. Fukua needs more work on resets and combos (I only have one bnb that works for me). Filia needs work on execution and more resets ( I know them shes just so fast and my fingers dont work that fast yet 0_0). Shout outs to Fukuatwerk (I know you probally dont care but you do help me alot). And I guess Ill continue to go solo and prepare for next weeks skullbat this way (maybe next time I wont get smoked in the first round because of my team dependency). Also Broseidon and Dolphin thanks again for the support :)

Hello! i do care. i like to help if i can! if you need help with fukua or filia i can be of service!

Training mode in skullgirls does show frame data. Under training options, look for "Attack Data" and set it to advanced.

You'll notice a black bar on the top of the screen appear. Every time you do an attack, the bar will fill up with boxes of different colors. As explained by Mike Z once:
top red = active (top purple = throw) / middle line is vulnerable/invin/throwinvin/hitinvin / 3rd line is red if you can't supercancel / bottom purple is when you can pass through the opponent

also, at the end of every attack, 2 numbers will appear in the bottom center of the screen. The left number will tell you the amount of startup frames the attack had. The number on the right will tell you your frame advantage/disadvantage.

Ninja I got all that stuff down it's just remembering what's + or - on block or hit and the startup frames in the moves. But thank you for the advice

Ok worked on my solo play a lot. Found out how good filia is at mix-ups (she deserves the mags pallet). My fukua lacks zoning but I figured out how to incorporate my street fighter knowledge with her (s.mp can be used as a fake fireball to catch bb or bella off guard). Val is still my strongest character (most likely because I put the most time into her 0_o). Still can't get in on peacock (tried the bypass reads way to hard to get consistently, fukua can only chuck plasma and attempt to throw out some shadows, and filia really can only dash about and try to hairball adc onto her.) All in all the solo work was alot of help I'm throwing out the SRK assist way less and I'm relying on dat neutral game.

Gotta figure out more about bellas grabs and patterns on those parasol mix ups (keep getting DHC'd by bella and confused by parasol.) I will say push blocking against parasol is more or less the best option against her pressure (Its best to get her off you as quickly as possible.) I'm still jumping for that next level (almost there 0_0 maybe?) Still feel good about my solo play but I feel most confident when I have my murda team ready to do work (Means I still need to work on my solo play). Also I think its about time that I learn a new character......ugh........ Possible choices are bella, fortune, or dubs (most likely dubs). Other ones I would like to learn are cock.......... (Holding back the vomit....) and parasol.

Finally pulled off the full filia bnb that Ive been working on for a week online (step one check). Now gotta work on resets and consistently getting that combo.

ran a set with Broseidon (got my ass kicked...of course) Came up with some baits for fukua (shout outs to twerk for the inspiration for that one). Got some more work with my solo team feel so much better with that (especially filia). That online grind is real though.

What are your guys opinions on having a notebook with tech in it and not posting it?

So was in the lab today working on some val and filia burst baits and I stumbled across a kara vial load bait (working on the bait for light characters as I'm putting this up) Cynical let me know how you feel on the validity of this.
