Hey guys! At this point I've amassed a reasonable amount of SG pieces, and folks have been asking me about it, so I figured it was about time I made an art thread.

In case some of you don't know me or haven't seen my work before, I mainly draw girls in cute and sexy poses, often with little clothing (so if NSFW stuff isn't your thing, beware!) My style mostly resembles visual novel style illustration, where there's a big emphasis on clean and meticulous lines, and soft shading coloring.

I've been following Skullgirls close to 3 years now, I think, and the character designs and animations have been a great source of inspiration. I will likely be doing more fanart of it in the future (of course, if you'd like to see more, let me know!)

Yeah, archiving stuff makes it easy to see progression, and it's a good source of motivation. The two finished Filia pieces there, they were done 6 months apart. Managed to do her much more justice this time (and it's also significantly better technically). :p

Because these are fighting game characters I just kinda felt that I had to do more dynamic poses. It's a fault of mine that I should try to correct. But yeah, in the process I've been improving my dynamic poses and angles a bunch.

Time-lapse of the making of the Valentine piece is up!

Also, I fixed the Fortune drawing. The skin color was much too light initially. Now she has a proper tan. :p

And a colored Valentine. Unfortunately this was a very problematic piece and I'm not very satisfied with it at all, but ah well, it happens. :<

Hate to be that person, but the eyepatch/hair is reversed.
 
Is it? So is the opening of the gown then. I went by the P1 side version of the sprites all this time. I guess P2 is the canon side huh. Is that the standard?
edit: I just checked Guilty Gear and the canon there is P1 side, so this doesn't seem to be the standard.

I went ahead and flipped it horizontally. Should be correct now.

@TechPowah - According to JD it showed offline to him too at some point. I guess that drawing alone was offline on the image server for some period of time? Never heard of such a thing but it would explain it. Either way, JD says it shows up fine now, see if it works for you too. o/

@Smile - I've posted quite a few drawings that people normally classify as NSFW by now, weird to make a distinction with this one. And I do provide a warning right on the OP that drawings are likely to be NSFW (bolded too), though reading the rules thread, it guess you guys operate on a per drawing basis?

Not sure where the line is drawn though. Is the Filia beachball drawing considered SFW? How about the bandaid Val? Or the other way around, what is it about the Squig one that separates it? No visible underwear perhaps? Cause genitalia isn't defined, so that ain't it. Lemme know how it works so I can add the correct NSFW tags.

That's mostly dependent on how thick the thighs are and how close together the knees are. In the redlining I'd done midway it looked alright, but perhaps I'll go back and check if it can be tweaked.

It does look off. Parasoul's hips as a whole don't really slope correctly (to me, her thighs start too high up), and the base of her thighs are too thin for the width of her mid thigh.

Aight, I gotchu. Thanks for the feedback guys, I went back in and did some surgery to Parasoul. It should look nicer now. :p
