So.

Here's my idea: Saturday Night Salt, the stream I run from Eighty Sixed Clothing's twitch channel every other Saturday, will just happen to fall on the same weekend as UFGTX (May 24th). Now, instead of just going home after the tournament and doing the regular old stream, I want to take the day's matches and create a custom set based on the results. Live, salty run-backs from UFGTX!

I'd host at my place, about 25 min from the hotel the tourney is at. I could probably fit about... a dozen dudes in my apartment before it gets too crazy.

To do this right (on PS3, same platform as the tourney), I'd need several things I don't currently have:
  • 2 lag-free monitors, one for the stream station and one for the "killin' time w/casuals" table
  • An HDMI splitter and an HDMI recording interface for the computer
I'd be looking for volunteers to provide these so we could do it up big, and I'll handle everything else, including beer.

Please chime i below if you like the idea or want to be a part of it, as this is by no means a definite thing just yet.

As of now, we have the gracious @BGCallisto volunteering an entire stream setup for use with this event, and it seems much simpler to use the hotel at this point. Additionally, both @Merlock and @keninblack have both volunteered monitors to use for casuals in the space that we end up using. I'm still talking to 86'd, but things look good.

Did you post this as an event or did you just style the title to look like it?

The date is the only day it could happen, which is why I posted it as such. It's not set in stone yet, so haven't posted a calendar thread.

I'll be at UFGT with a BenQ I could provide

If someone can drive me to your place UFGT weekend im down.

So, are you guys interested in donating your tv's and bodies (hey oh!) to the event?

Barring unforeseen circumstances, yes.

If someone can drive me to your place UFGT weekend im down.

This also though, I'm flying down and I won't have transit locally other than public transit.

I can drive you myself, fellas. I imagine a lot of people won't have transport, so maybe another local (konkrete? LaSombra? BGCallisto?) can help.

I will be flying in, so I'd definitely appreciate a ride.

I don't drive, so no can do. What about holding it at the hotel? I'm sure you'd get better numbers that way as well, but a little harder to keep under control

The car's not full yet :)

I'm open to this idea, but there were few large drawbacks to doing it at the hotel:
  • Upload speeds: they'll likely be really low.
  • Equipment: I won't have my best pc available to me. I do have a laptop, but as a 720p streaming machine, I dunno.
  • Stream organization: we'd basically have to set up a single hotel room as a mini broadcast studio, and while possible, I'm not sure who would be ok with giving us their entire room for 3 hours.
  • Eighty Sixed Inc: It's Saturday Night Salt, so they'll (justifiably) want the same quality of stream they're used to, and that's hard to guarantee in a hotel room.
Like I said, I'm totally willing to entertain the notion, but we'd have to check all these additional boxes. Thoughts, anyone?

Streams had happened before at this hotel with some success. I can't speak for everything. I'll have a room and so far it's just Duck and I. There might be more folks but I'm sure using it for this wouldn't be the worst for anyone else in the room. It would be cramped unless someone got a suite, though.

Define, "some success."

If I can find an archive of something i remember happening last year, I will bring it to you, for judgement day.

Yo in there, would you want to rock it in your room?

I will happen to be in the building. With a monitor, a full setup, and a bunch of stream gear. What a coincidence!

I mean, if it's already being set up there, I can definitely see that.

I'm not sure as to the size of the room so it may be tough to cram everyone in there, but unless I have streaming work to do early Sunday morning I would absolutely be up for it.

I'll know more once Keits gets everyone the official schedule

Perfect. We'll wait on the schedule, then.

At this point, having it at the hotel with BGCallisto's technical and materiel assistance seems like the best option.

Aright guys, I've been looking over the room info at Crowne Plaza, and it unfortunately doesn't look like they offer a wired ethernet option in the rooms. I attempted to stream using the wireless they offer last year and it was just not going on at all. I would still have all of my equipment available at the hotel for an offline recording, but an actual live stream is questionable enough that I don't want to tell everyone it's something I can do and then have it not happen.

Let's aim for recording it, then, and I'll turn it into a super slick thing we'll air at a later date. Cool?

Yeah that works for me

Hey guys, schedule has been released: http://ufgtus.wordpress.com/schedule/

My concern is that I have Tekken top 8, which starts at 10pm, and Tekken takes goddamn forever, so I don't think I would be done downstairs and have my stuff packed and moved upstairs until at least 1

Well, given that, I think it's safe to say that we won't be able to do this, then. It's unfortunate, but the equipment and setup required for this plan seem to be higher than what is reasonable, at this point. I still look forward to playing everyone on Friday, but I'm pulling the plug on SNS Live.

oof tekken top 8 at 10. Oh well, the effort was valiant, we shall still be merry together and play many games.

if people still want to play casually I'd be up for it, I just don't want to ask people to wait until past 1am to start an event
