Monster Hunter

Wow I got the Dalamadur Urgent Quest a lot sooner than I expected.
Any of you nerds wanna help me out with this overgrown snake?

Sure, I'm up for it.
Sorry for the late reply, I was dealing with a really frustrating quest.
Aight I'll invite you to a game in a second, get online.

Judging by the time of the post, I take it you don't need help anymore?

I'm feeling ballsy, who wants to fight the Ukanlos with me?

Holy fucking shit what's it gonna take to get a Rathalos Ruby?

About 100 more hours of pain and suffering

What level are you at in gathering hall and/or caravan?

Level 7 Guild, Level 10 Caravan.
I know what I'm doing, it's just taking a while.

Ok. I was just going to suggest doing rathalos missions with a "break the Azure/Silver/Rathalos back or head" subquests. I do a rank 9 elder hall quest when I need to make money and I have 11 Rathalos Rubys right now just from ending with the subquest.

Do Azures have a higher drop rate?

According to kiranico, all three types of Rathalos have 4% chance for a Ruby if you break their head, and 1% if you break their backs. If you go for tails, normal Rathalos has a 3% chance, Azure has 4%, and Silver has 5%. So tails and heads have a higher chance, but backs are the easiest to break.

I just got one from the rewards of an Azure.
Now I just need some Silver Carapaces and I can get the Wyvern Blade 'Pale'.

I got showered in Ratholos Rubies as soon as I hit G-Rank since they have a higher drop rate. There's a pretty easy way to farm for them with a glaive.

Also finally finished making this set last night. Don't want to fight another furious rajang or rust kushala for a while.

Nets me:
Honed Blade (Sharpness+1 and Attack Up L)
Challenger+2 (Attack Up XL and Affinity +20% when monster is in rage)
Razor Sharp (Sharpness goes down at half rate)
Element Attack Up

I have the craftmen's specs to get Mechanic on there for blast weapons and such but they look dorky lol.

@Denizen Just a heads up, you won't be able to get the full upgrade for that weapon until capcom decides to release the G-Rank version of Silver Ratholos as DLC.

Yes, I'm already very aware of that.

Now someone cool help me kill a Silver, then a Ukanlos.

Just bought MH4U. This will be my first Monster hunter game ever played and ever owned.

Any tips you can give while my system is updating?

just find the weapon and playstyle you like, and if you have trouble with a certain quest or enemy, don't be afraid to change things up a bit.

Stock up on items every chance you get and organize your item sets as soon as you can.
It's funny, but the most important skill in this game is inventory management.

anyone know of a good set for evade lancing?

First off, WELCOME NEW HUNTER. First things first, try out all the weapons and see what you like. There is no "best weapon" in the game. Every weapon has its strengths and weaknesses, so go into training mode and give each one a whirl. If you want a more detailed explanation on how weapons work, look up Gaijin Hunter on youtube. He showcases each weapon and what they are capable of.

Second, I recommend crafting a gathering and a crafting set as soon as possible. Both are fairly low level and the materials should be easy to get in the first hour of the game. The gathering set gives you more chances to forage for plants, berries, and mine for ore, as well as occasionally get multiples on 1 pickup. The crafting set allows you to craft items while reducing the chance of failure. It sucks when trying to craft traps or bombs and it fails and all you're left with is garbage.

Third, you're gonna get hit...a lot...so stock up on honey and potions and try to make as much mega potions and you can carry. You can go to Wyceam (sp?) and spend guild points to put some honey with him to farm so he can multiply it further. This should help out a lot as mega potions are pretty much the best early level healing item you get, until you can make max potions.

Fourth, just have fun. You are going to sink hundreds upon hundreds of hours into this game because it's just so good. Once you start feeling confident hop online, and start working on your hunter rank (HR). It's a separate rank from the story mode and it's where the real fun is, teaming up with other people.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Well, I don't have much knowledge about crafting yet. Or well, I know I can upgrade my weapons and armours if I have the material the blacksmith needs.

My weapon of choice is the charge blade or axe whatever. It has a nice feeling. I need however try to learn the combos and the whole charge thingy even more (I know how to charge but not transfer the charge to my shield/axe glow instead :P).

Soo far I now have the quest to slay the great jaggi. I'm horrible. And it wasn't untill this point I figured out how to deploy my Feline or what there names was.

Someone help me clear these G2 quests, they're a pain in the ass.

I have a question about armors.

I have soo far cleared some rank 4 caravan quests and been playing some online becous of getting better gear, becaus it was hard for me to forge better gear offline. By playing online I have been able to upgrade my Charge blade into Fire Axe/Axelion Blade and been able to forge the Rathalos armor set and the Gore magala set with Leumundslist.

The question I have is, can I upgrade these armours into higer rank armours or must I "re-forge" them all over again?

Sorry, Low Rank, High Rank, and G Rank Sets of the same family are treated as different armor sets.
Like, Tetsucabra will not upgrade into Tetsucabra S, it's a new set you'll have to forge.

You can technically upgrade the defense on them with armor spheres to make them similar to their higher rank counterparts, but the skills on them will not be the same.

So THAT'S how you get Divine Armor Spheres!

I have now killed the Daora in offline mode. Which made me finish all the key quest for offline (I think).

Now, its that Ukanlos urgent in the guild hall that is between me and my G rank status.

If you can wait until tonight I can help you incinerate that bitch.

We'll see if I have time tonight. Must finish a report asap.

You'll get a yellow check-mark on each Caravan Quest number signifying that you've completed every single quest at that level.

I'm good to go to fight that big icy loser.

Holy Shit, MH Cross looks sick. I'm digging all those new moves and effects.

So two new MonHun games? I can get behind this! :D

Maybe they'll ind a way to balance Tonfas and bring those bad, too.

Yeah I just saw that, are they doing jumps off the monsters? Actually looking forward to starting over again this time around. I don't see any water combat, but that's no big deal.

I'm more staggered at the fact we got MH4U less than two months ago and y'all already getting another game.
Capcom knows what one of their biggest audiences want at least

Getting back to this game after 10-11 months since I've played it, though it's more of a habit I have with every game in the series.

I used to use nothing but LS, but now I fucking love Hammers (while LS and IG come close.) It's more of the risk/award that makes it fun for me, especially when a monster flinches or gets KO'ed during mid-attack.
