Yeah, the bag is there. It has a mouse. It is in a green shopping bag in the back room.
 
I'm guessing this means you won't be going to Fall River tomorrow, then... well, obviously we're sad to hear you taking a break, but if you think it's best, then I can only hope it helps.

[EDIT] I know I said I might be late to the Fall River Fright Night, but as events unfold it looks like I might actually not be able to go at all... I feel like such a bastard for hyping up the events and then bailing, but I just found out my boy is having a surprise 21st birthday... so I don't think I can miss that to play SG.

It's sad, I actually wanted to come tonight, but my ride had a social gathering to attend to. I really hope I get to see you guys at the tournament. I need my Icky/Lord Ceno bonding time~
 
@mcpeanuts I'm glad you're putting your peace of mind before playing a video game (not everyone can do that), but I hope you don't stay gone. You're one of the funnest people I've played in a video game. Not at all like that @Icky guy. Fuck that guy.

It looks like I won't be making it to Fall River Fright Night for the reasons I mentioned previously. Sorry @Icky
 
I'm way up in the Meredith area of New Hampshire (bout 3 hours away) but I will def try to make it down sometimes for a tourney (even though I'm sucktastic at the game). Thanks for pointing me to the thread here Panda!

Awesome man :) We have a tournament this Saturday in Frammingham Mass, but that's probably way too short notice. Though if I'm not mistaken our next one with be Nov. 23rd

I'd advise you to go to GU rather than GameKing, since it's MUCH closer and bigger... I like the FFFN because it's 15 minutes away and a good time, but it's nothing serious.
 
Oh I was referring to GU I think, the one in Framingham. According to google maps it's about a 2.5 hour ride one way which I don't mind if I bring a bud along for the ride. I'm just interested in meeting some new people interested in fighting games and getting some offline experience. I hate online and miss the arcade days I grew up in :D. And like I said in my pm to you Panda, I probably suck royally compared to most of the players but that's how I always learned the quickest, by getting my ass handed to me on a regular basis. Every loss is a lesson!
Maybe I'll make it down for the 23rd and you guys can beat on the "old guy" some :D

Where are you getting November 23rd from? Game Underground doesn't usually run two fighting game tournaments in the same month. If you're going off the calendar on GU's website you should probably know it is frequently inaccurate.

You're not the only old guy who goes out there from time to time to get beat on lol.

Gave @Zidiane $10 for rent after going 0 - 2 in my first Skullgirls tournament two weeks after picking the game up :)
It's all about supporting the community and learning. I swear I get 10% better every time I go to a local event.

For the record, any and all money earned via the tournament goes in my "Go to NEC" fund. I wouldn't put it to my rent.

I usually bring my PS3 and a few other games, in case someone feels like trying something different. It usually goes unused, but a few weeks ago DaydreamingSorc and I threw down in Bushido Blade and Soulblade (yay PS1 backwards compatibility) and the week after that a couple guys from outside the Skullgirls group partook of Tekken Tag 2.

Tekken is mostly a Boston game, but the Boston guys do occasionally come to GU.

So here's something I was thinking about today, wanted to see what people's thoughts were. I would like to start having ranbats on Fridays. These would be free entry tournaments with whoever happens to be there that night. First, second, and third place would earn seeding points that would be used in the monthly tournaments. I haven't really figured out what the points structure would be like, or if we would do single elim/double elim/round robin/whatever; before I figure any of that shit out I want to see if people are even interested. The other thing I'm worried about is if this sort of thing would be unfair to guys like @User and @thedoctor2112 who show up to the monthlies but can't realistically go to our weekly meetups. Let me know what you think.

I'd be interested in that. Could players who show up less often simply be placed randomly, like they were before?

Well that's what I would do, and it's why it would be an issue. Like after you seed all the people who have seeding points, the people who didn't attend any of the ranbats would then be seeded randomly. The problem being that people who can't attend the ranbats then can't get any seeding points and might have to fight you first round, which is bullshit.

I guess the easy solution to this would be to have the tournaments themselves contribute seeding points towards the next tournament, which actually is super obvious and completely solves the issue, wow, why didn't I just think of that five minutes ago.
