Hello, everybody! I am proud to announce that the Video Game Club at the University of South Florida in Tampa is proud to present its first large scale fighting game tournament on October 5th, Brawl in the Fall! We would love any and all of the fighting game community, wherever you are, to attend our event.

We'll be having:
Divekick
Super Smash Bros: Melee
Super Smash Bros: Project M
Ultra Street Fighter 4
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Under Night in Birth
Tekken Tag 2
Skullgirls

We can also hold side tourneys if we have the time, resources, and audience for it. And remember, as always, BYOC!

For more information, please visit our website: http://wp.vgcusf.club/

Also, here is a pre-registration form, just so we know how many people we would be expecting. http://tinyurl.com/jvpes9s

nah there are a lot of people who apparently play SG that would be there, USF has a decent amount of people who dont go to tournies so you can make 10 bucks this tournament

Well im down unless something comes up. Should be fun.

USF's right now down the street from me, so I should totally be able to go unless something comes up on my schedule. Also just curious but do you have to be a student to attend, or can anyone enter?

Any one can enter, USF is an open campus however parking isnt free (5 bucks for anywhere parking) I have no idea what the venue fee is but the entry fee per game is 5 dollars. It is in the USF ballroom last I checked which seems to be around the same size as the CEO ballroom, but yah any one can show up and compete

Welp just pre-registered! This time I'll actually practice before the tournament :p

The pre reg says 5 dollars for entry at the door, so its 5 to get in and 5 to play I assume?

Hmmm... Wonder if I can get to THIS tourney? Well, it sounds cool!:PUN:
We could always use more people to go! Hope you can make it man

4 easy steps for how to run a Skullgirls tournament in Florida:
  1. Drive to Tampa. This should take you no less than 40 minutes, even if you live there.
  2. Start the tournament about a half hour late. Not that anybody was actually late, mind you, just that Broken was expecting more people.
  3. If less than 8 people show up, 3/5 round robin. If 8 or more show up, hahahahaha
  4. PrettiestMedic wins.

I'm a girl gamer and I beat all these silly boys on the regular :PUN:
Honestly, I always think seeing a pro girl's WAY cooler than a pro guy! I hope I can get to this one. Then I can fight the best SG player here, and you can fight the most loved/despised guy on Skullheart!
(All I do is give some business advice, and BOOM!
Wait, keninblack liked your post... Does he go there, too!?

Last minute question, since I was thinking about going to this, is there a difference between the ps3 version and the pc version?
No

You changed your username, too? Did I start a trend or something?

Anyways, just to clarify, Is the tournament completely free now, or do we still need to pay for each game we enter in? I was considering doing Melee, too, so just seeing if I need to bring more cash.
Also, what store is the credit for, and how much?

That about sums up my questions!

originally there was a fee to enter the ballroom, now there is not but food has to be payed for
each game still has a 5$ entry fee so if you do SG and melee that is a total of $10
store credit thing is based on the prize pool so more people showing up the bigger amount possible if you win (pay outs are for first through third as 60/30/10)

also I wanted to change my name for a while I just didnt know it was possible until recently

Oof. I was expecting to have to leave in the morning. At this rate I won't have to head out until after lunch.

I'll be there with my PS3+Evo monitor setup probably around 3ish. I sincerely doubt the tournament will go the full 5 hours but I'll also bring the other games, you know which ones.
