One Piece

Well, they released One Piece "Party". A little side comic to One Piece. It's basically just the spin-off "anything goes" manga. Using already established characters (and jokes) to move through a mostly comedic-centric plot. And it's in that chibi-ish style.

Gear 4th should just be Sabo actually showing up to help fight Doffy.
 
Sabo doesn't need anymore attetion right now, and the chapter is already out in english btw, sadly, 2 more weeks till we see the most epic thing about the new world chapters so far.

Get yer guesses in what Gear Fourth will be like.

Gear Second - enhanced strength and mobility through accelerated blood circulation.
Gear Third - inflated bones for hard, massive attacks​

Since those two are essentially speed and power, perhaps 4th will be technique. Use the Gomu Gomu no Mi in inventive ways. If he wanted to, Luffy could stretch the lens of his eyes and his retinas to gain better-than-telescopes-or-microscopes super-sight. Maybe he can stretch his brain and gain an analytic edge. We know Luffy's not much of a thinker, so it would be more instinctual, like time appears to slow for him. Or maybe Luffy uses his flexibility to redirect force, not unlike Spike from Cowboy Bebop's use of Jeet Kune Do ("Be like water").

Beats some of the stuff I've seen on the subreddit. One suggestion had him using "vulcanization." Why would he develop a hard rubber technique if he already has haki (color of armaments)? What do you think Gear Fourth could be like?

In other words, the return of Mizu Luffy.

I've got a feeling it isn't going to be brought up anytime soon. The fact that he gave it away so casually makes me think he thought he couldn't fit it in. Needed more flashbacks for random-ass baby men I guess.
 
HEY, Señor Pink is actually a better character than i tought, at first i tought the baby clothes were just a random gimmick from Oda, but to actually gave them a significant purpose in a flashback? the guy's got a huge pair on him to wear that stuff just to make his vegetal wife smile despite what others think about him, he's a true man, and so is Franky who gave him his toughts after the fight, that chapter was beyond awesome.
 
Eh. The way he treated women killed anything likeable about the character to me.

Sorry but I'm just kind of creeped out by men ripping off women's bras to use as napkins and/or kissing them without consent and telling them to shut up, take the blame, and stay out of the way.

Okay that was kind of an assholish way of replying, so I'm just going to put why specifically I didn't think the joke worked under spoilers a little later. I'm sorry.

Look, we can all admit that Oda has a problem with writing women, right? Time and time again, whether it be from an SBS or a poorly written character, he clearly has shown he treats women differently from men. It's just that this arc especially is rampant with pushing women to the side.

Rebecca's goal of being strong enough to protect soldier blatantly ignored for some poor-man's pacifism (how does shoving people into super shark infested waters count as pacifism?), Sanji being awarded for his sexism (The part where Viola looks into his mind), Robin goes on babysitting Rebecca in the background duty, Leo immediately being rude to Mansherry's almost minor requests (Calling her selfish immediately), the random-ass insults to Baby 5 from Lao G (Saying her entire time there was just for manipulation), next to nothing of women fighting (to the point where the anime felt it necessary to add Koala fighting as filler), Usopp's (and everyone else's) extreme reluctance to even attempting to injure Sugar (who is actually 22 years old), etc., etc., and this.

And that kiss was the first lip to lip kiss in One Piece. And in all of it's near 18 years the first kiss was used to insult a woman.

It's like a collective. These things wouldn't be bad on their own (except a couple of course), they probably could actually be funny or work under the right circumstances. But so much is present that it seems swamped in mistreatment.

A joke is supposed to be funny because it goes against expectations. And the joke of "pushing women to the side for a real man's fight" didn't feel like a joke because a good chunk of the arc was literally just that.

If this arc had maybe, I don't know... 1 actual female fight it might've worked for me. Maybe. But for now I'm just not seeing it.
 
Aight, i've seen the sexism discussion in spanish forums before and i can't say i disagree with the fact that the current arc is indeed full of it, just like a lot of other i was expecting to see Robin or Rebecca have a proper fight, but it never happened, they always had to be pushed aside so others could fight.

I don't see the lack of a good female driven fight (EDIT: This arc) as a deal breaker but I definitely see your point. I wish that Rebecca had actually gotten to do something rather than constantly being pushed aside for someone else's story.

It might be because this arc has been very heavy in fights.

I mean, like a LOT. I'm probably miscounting, but I've gotten 17 off the top of my head. And that's not counting the "free-for-all" battles.

And since 2 of them really are really female driven it feels disproportionate?
